The Star Guardian: New Horizon event ends on 9/25/17 at 11:59 PM PT, and with it go...

Invasion game mode missions, though you can transform Starlight Tokens into the New Horizon Icon and New Horizon Ward until 10/16/17 at 11:59 PM PT.
The New Horizon Set, First Star Edition bundles, Burning Bright Bundle, and Familiar Friends Bundle. You receive First Star loading screen borders for Star Guardian Ahri, Miss Fortune, Syndra, Soraka, and Ezreal only by purchasing the New Horizon Set or First Star Edition bundles.

This was a pretty horrible event.

The game mode was a fun twist and reminded me a lot of hero brawlers from WC3, but the execution was just bad.

Forcing premades? Just no.

Making the borders 250 RP extra for the skins? What?!

Seriously, this direction just needs to stop. Where were the times when you just sold stuff for what it was and people could just play the game the way they wanted to? =/

'Bout sums up my feelings on the event; upvoted for truth on the matter.

Game mode was great; way Riot went about having people play it for the missions was god awful though.

Honestly riot i don't understand why you made it so people have to be premade to get the rewards its hard enough getting a couple people together to play this due to how difficult it is but 5 people for an incredibly bad game mode with annoying as hell missions is ridiculous people want the ward they just cant get it and another thing is it is hard enough to do it with an adc let alone without one.[sg-lux-2]

I loved the game mode and had no problem using the boards to find people to play with. Now that I know the builds and patterns to the modes, it actually is much easier now. I'm actually hoping when they bring it back they will make it harder or add new missions and levels.

The premade missions were annoying as all hell to get a group of people together for, granted, but the game mode itself is actually insanely fun and I 120% hope Riot makes more like it.

Especially if it means I get to listen to all you kids complaining, "It's too hard! D:"

Dude... Are you a horse with a carrot dangled in front of it or a human being? If you don't like the quest or the game mode just don't do those quest or play that game mode. There will be other ward skins and icons.

Do you not know anything about the world? Have you never heard of a chore or a task or a job? People spend hours every day doing things they don't enjoy because the reward at the end is worth the pain. Our superior intelligence separates us from the animals because we can see farther into the future to understand when rewards are farther away after tasks, so you have your metaphor backwards.

Games are usually the opposite: something people do because the task itself is enjoyable, so people often treat games or the act of playing games as rewards. Riot made the choice for a couple weeks to flip this on its head for Invasion by putting rewards at the end of tasks that were inherently unenjoyable. Riot chose to make their game more like work than a game.

Just because you don't like Invasion doesn't mean that the game mode is "inherently unenjoyable" and the fact that you consider completing OPTIONAL missions (a component of a majority of games) comparable to going to work is laughable.

Unless you're in LCS, playing League of Legends is never work. N e v e r. It's a just game. Sure it takes effort, but putting effort into something is a choice and it doesn't automatically make whatever you're doing cumbersome or mean that you're owed recompense.

You didn't like Invasion You chose to do all the missions

Riot isn't involved in either action. You could have used the hours you spend playing Invasion doing literally ANYTHING ELSE but you chose to play because you wanted the mission rewards.

You lie. Riot is responsible for the quality of Invasion and how they chose to get players to engage with it. Making a crap game mode and encouraging players to play long past the point they would be sick of it even if it was the type of mode they may enjoy was Riot's decision. Performing little to no tweaking over the event when flaws with the mode became apparent quickly was Riot's choice. Denying that is patent nonsense.

You don't have to complete the premade missions to be able to earn the 4 tokens needed for the ward. Just doing the 1st mission, along with 1 of each class, and then doing the mission of an A or higher (this one earns you 2). The 3 missions that are made for premades just give you another 4 tokens (there one on getting S with a premade that earns you 2).

A reminder for you that for the ADCs you have:

16/16 ADC that tries to flirt with Lux, but Jinx is already dating her.
An ADC that relies on Lethality's state in the meta to remain relevant
An ADC that was physically stabbed by Riot to be balanceable because 2.50 is easy to hit if Jinx could infinitely stack her passive.

[sg-ahri-3] please never speak to me again if you say that because of the ADCs the game mode already sucks.

NOTE: This person acquired the Starlight Tokens required for the ward with the 3 non-premade missions: In the beginning, A Star's Refinement, and A Star's Ascent. He has the New Horizon Ward.

Wonderful lines?

SG Ahri's voice lines made me want to jam crochet needles into my ears. The voice lines are the only reason I won't get her SG skin in fact; it doesn't even sound or feel like Ahri at all.

I really enjoyed having the Ahri announcer and the minion costumes! I would be content if Riot made them optional in the future as a change from the regular announcer.[sg-jinx]

the dark stars will rise up and corrupt the first star. its corruption will only solidify our position and make the star guardian destruction much easier. as long as no random time traveling magical girl named homura shows up, nothing can stop us. hell, we may even recruit homura into our ranks.

They can always create separate villains for Star Guardian. I am just pointing out that Riot explicitly said that Star Guardian and Dark Star are not in the same universe.
