The Rune Mage has re-emerged from his retreat to the PBE refreshed, reworked, and really, really balanced. He's ready to rip up the rift right now.

The Big Blue Ryze Bundle is available for 3414 RP (3570 RP if you haven't already unlocked the Rune Mage) beginning now through 23:59 PDT, July 20. The bundle includes:

Ryze
Tribal Ryze [LEGACY]
Uncle Ryze
Professor Ryze [LEGACY]
Zombie Ryze [LEGACY]
Dark Crystal Ryze
Pirate Ryze [LEGACY]
Ryze Whitebeard

All skins are available separately as well, but Ryze's four legacy skins are only warping into this realm for a short period—they go back into the vault at 23:59 PDT on August 13.

Riot has no plans to bring back any limited edition skins, such as Young Ryze or Triumphant Ryze (with the exception of Championship Riven).

Triumphant is actually only part of Riot Sponsored tournament events, given out as a prize. So it can still be gotten, just not in the way most things can ;)

New Ryze has a good amount of potential and has a pretty good amount of skill involved with his kit. However, early game power kinda needs to get nerfed, especially when going against him as an early game, mana hungry champ such as Veigar .

His rune prison definitely needs more cd and mana cost early game, since spell flux has two second cd and overload has a reset. Rune prison early game should be used as an offensive/defensive tool at a critical moment and should have repercussions if used incorrectly. At level 3, he can just root, combo, retreat, twelve seconds later, repeat said process. Burst damage right now is too strong in his early game, a nerf in his W cooldown and mana cost should remedy this. Overall, nice rework!

Leave a comment Karthus is alot more item 3070 hungry than any champ i think he scales a lot with ap but still dosent buy alot of mana items so he is very mana hungry and u need to have blue buff to just be good in lane #totally balanced

This is just me, but usually when I Karthus , I wait till enemy is away from minions to q them because of deathfires touch. Still go down in mana, but I have some in reserve for e in-case I get ambushed.

However, if Ryze w was just below or as much as a risky investment as a Karthus w or a Veigar e early game, Ryze could be denied early kills, unless he's exceptionally good (which allows more skill to be involved). Using his w at a critical moment could open up potential kills or follow ups for him or his team if executed correctly.

SO unfortunate that Young Ryze / Triumphant are not in the bundle. I really wish I played in season 1 so I can get human. I have been waiting so long for this, it's unfortunate...

Only reward back then was Judgement Kayle. Young Ryze was a special skin that could only be gotten with a pre-order the retail copy of the game.

Triumphant is only given out at Riot Sponsored Events as a prize, so of course it wouldn't be part of this.

Thank you for the new update. Took out the soul of Ryze and totally revamped him into something new. At last I am free of League and finally am free from this addicting game. I can finally work on my life long dream of becoming a Pokemon Trainer. (RIP Ryze 7/13/06)

i agree with you....they did the same to my poppy....and zil...and soraka.....i play only because i have nothing else to do now.....not because i have a drive to play this game anymore...cuz it changes to much.....there is no consistency with how much you update and change.....might as well change the name....or call it league of legends 2 by now....i like to think we all keep playing a game for nostalga....and when i leave and come back after awhile....its all different....my favorite champs powers and look is completely changed and the entire game doesnt play the same......eventually it will run me off completely.....

Instead of item 3070 about it, maybe learn to play against the guy. Rework's barely been out so you have had little to no time to adapt. Its like people complaining about new champ releases an hour after release.

The kit is hopefully less toxic right now, so all that's left is number tweeks. For those to happen he must hit the Live Servers first.

i don't understand how ryze is broken now... the champ was solid and balanced and now it's broken and useless. admittedly he has better waveclear now when the combo is done properly and timed right, but the fucking ult is the most useless piece of shit i've seen in league so far!

No because Azir is actually a good counter to champs who dominate in locking down certain areas, like Trundle, Kindred Ult, Heimer, etc. Azir ult can also completely seal off a certain area such as an escape route or something. Terrain is generally beneficial to your team when used correctly.

I fail to see any useful playmaking potential in Ryze ult except for a well timed contested objective (dragon/baron). If you don't want to opt in to the TP you can escape the zone easily enough I've seen.

Heard Bard ult + Ryze ult can be quite devastating to enemy if pulled off correctly. But like all champs, just give him time before you criticize his changes.
