Only days remain until the end of the 2016 season. There’s still time to reach your ranked goals. If you push your way to Gold or higher, you’ll earn the exclusive Victorious Maokai champion skin.

When the clock strikes midnight, turning November 7 to November 8, ranked queues will come down for about 90 minutes and we'll start distributing earned rewards.

For Challenger players, it’s important to know we’ll be locking in final Challenger positions on the last ladder update of November 7, so games must be completed before that time! This is different from games below Master tier, where the game must start by 11:59 PM. You can monitor the countdown on the league’s page in your client.

It just takes time, and learning. Those type of people are in every elo. And blaming your elo on other people wont get you anywhere. Because for ever troll, boosted monkey, feeder or rager you get on your team, you get one game with them on the enemy team.

I'm not proud that it took me 700+ games to reach Platinum, but hey when you started out in Bronze II ... it's quite an achievement. I'll likely get involved in 2017's ranked season and see if I can reach Diamond before 700 games, wish me luck ^_^

I played 1000 to go from bronze 5 to gold 5. I may have been wood trash at the start of the season, but I learned and climbed to be gold. After 1000 games to get gold i retired and stopped at gold.. way too much tilt from that many ranked games lmfao.

playing tanks and peeling for your carries is a great way to win! I actually really like the maokai skin since he basically carried me through s2 to s1 and reksai finished the rest off into gold*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

Here are some tips if you want to climb in ranked:

Spam you main religiously. While it is useful to have 4-5 champions ready to play, having a champion you're really good at can make a world of difference.
Know when to dodge. Yea it sucks losing 3 LP and maybe even 10 LP, but there's games were I knew our comp sucked / theirs were freelo / someone on my team was being toxic. Dodging games have saved me so much LP and demotions.
Recognize what your team needs when the game drags on. For example, if i'm a support and they have a fed , i'm going to ensure I build & while focusing her in team fights to ensure her R doesn't kill off my ADC.
No matter how hard / difficult the start is, doesn't mean they win the game. Unless it's like 22 and 1 or something major ... you guys can always come around. Remember, objectives win the games, not kills. While gold and kills help you ensure victory, objectives like Baron buff or Elder Dragon is a huge game changer.
Be positive to yourself and others. Yeah it sucks when your is like 0 / 5 / 0 within 15 minutes, but try to encourage her / be supprotive instead of flaming. It'll definitely keep them in good spirits and i've had people who fed become the fed ones if you try remaining civil with inspiring words.
If you lose more than 2 Ranked games in one day, take a break. Let yourself cool off, practice in Normals, play ARAM, go eat ... then come back the next few hours or even the next day. You'll be in much better spirits to try climbing.
Analyze the situation your team is in and what can be done. Don't overextend if you have the lead and don't be greedy when it's not necessary. Always be smart about what you and your team does.

If you need anymore hints & tips, just ask :) I got to Plat being a Support Main so I know for sure you guys can climb with a champion you play by heart.

got placed in silver 4 took 1100 or so games to get to gold v, then made another act got to 30 played my 10 games and got seeded in gold v, figure that one out.

Eh, it depends on how you measure it.

It only took me 110 games to reach Platinum last season with no prior ranked history, but I had been playing for two seasons by that point. I think I had about 500 normal wins by the time I stated playing ranked.

Considering only ~10% of the community is Platinum+, reaching it at all is a rather significant accomplishment.

I'm curious as to why it's Maokai that's getting the victorious skin this year. Has he really been super relevant at all in season 6? I guess I can't complain because it's a free skin though.

Last year they made Victorious Sivir and Maokai since Sivir was last year this year they just brushed up Maokai and released it

They generally have to determine the champion early in the year to allow for development time.

I believe Maokai was chosen based on the Spring Split (though I may be wrong) where he was rather contested and influential.

He was chosen after MSI where he proved to be the most influential pick knocking Ekko and Poppy out of meta top, and being picked 22 out of the 24 games; the only games he wasn't played were the 2 he was banned. The main champion that proved just as influential was jhin, and since they just had an adc last season get the victorious skin, they didn't give it to jhin.

ekko probably deserved it, he knocked almost every other top laners out of the way and dominated the meta for over half the season until they nerfed him to his current position
