is my first love. Small. Agile. Able to turn both friend and foe against him by doing nothing whatsoever. (Whenever your team loses they always blame the teemo pick, even if you're score is uber positive.) But, with a heavy heart, I will share the secret to his demise in hopes that he will be pitied and beloved once his many weaknesses are exposed.
First thing to note is that Teemo has an amazing variety of build options. Tankmo, stealth assassin,Teemo-Toaster tank melter, even a more brawler type of role. (Then there's the typical, and hated, Trollmo-that-spams-shrooms-and-maxes-AP.) Regardless of the build, one critical part of a successful Teemo is his Q [Blinding Dart]. It disables most auto-attack-based champions and when used right out of [Camoflauge] can stop any chance of an enemy counter. It's also Teemo's only targeted ability. This means that the majority of Teemo's damage will have to come from his shrooms (placing them in a melee fight or closing the gap in a ranged fight) or poison. With that in mind, here are a few tricks to countering the more common Teemo builds.
CC: Teemo is usually built to be relatively low on hp and resistances, with focus placed on shroom dmg to avoid direct fighting. If you can suppress his attacks for the duration of his blind, he will be forced to fight on equal footing with a much more balanced player. (This doesn't work so well if the Teemo has built burst dmg - assassin - Teemo, though. A burst Teemo coming off a stun could have enough penetration to kill you in a 1v1; especially with the DoT after he dies.)
Burst: Teemo isn't the best well-equipped to handle burst dmg (unless you're a tank, you really aren't). Since he has a blind, AD burst might not be the best unless you're uber fed or have a Banshee. If you're AP burst, however, like the sucker up. Your biggest concern is screwing up your combos and not killing him fast enough, therefore having to resort to auto-attacks until your cooldown is up. AVOID THIS. Teemo's DoT makes him weighted to win long engagements. If you can't kill him right out, maybe bait the blind or dance out of his range until you can go back in. NEVER chase a Teemo; especially into tight spaces where shrooms can't be dodged.
Teamwork: Personally most of my Teemo builds focus on burst dmg and tank-melting. If you try to 1v1 me with my full built Teemo, chances are you're gonna lose unless you can outburst me. Unless you're an ability-centered tank, don't try to 1v1 Teemo or an insane burst master, don't attempt to 1v1 a good Teemo player; it won't end well.
Specific Champ Tips
vs
: Start off game with
and a good amount of
. Since you're a melee champ, you can't start off with your Q; farming under Teemo auto-attack will drain your hp so that you'll lose lane control early. Start with E [Spirit Fire] and harass Teemo away from farm early. It's tricky because Nasus starts with low mana and his E tends to drain it quickly, but if you learn to control your mana expenditure (and don't miss) it'll pay off.
vs
: ...really not sure what to tell ya. Your best bet is to land a grab on Teemo, auto-attack while you can and use your abilities during the blind. During laning phase Teemo will be a bully, but your natural meatiness and bleed may stand a chase in mid and late game.
vs
: Keep your head and wait for this combo:
- Start up your Q to close the gap
- When you get close,Teemo will most likely blind. Activate your W, after he does. (Most of Teemo's damage comes from his auto-attack; ignore the dart dmg and whether the storm.)
- If Teemo didn't blind you, hit him right away to stall the blind. If he did, save the silence and immediately use your E. Save your Q until its almost over. This will increase the chance it will run over past the blind cooldown.
- Decide whether to stay or leave. Teemo will keep blinding throughout the fight and might even throw down some shrooms. Decide ASAP if you want to stay and fight it out or leave with that damage. Teemo punishes long engagements.
