There's also pictures with 0 effort that just rack up space for people who actually wanted to participate. Other than that, the idea of the contest just panders for people to make flashy colors and grin faces for them to get voted. Who spent more than a second to see a crying amumu?

Inf1nity Sevyn24 votesI think my real complaint against a lot of these is there are tons, and I do mean TONS that display nearly no Emotion but tons of Meme. I really genuinely do like several of them and some are just totally adorable but lack on the emotion side of things. There are plenty that are really well done too. Just sad so many memes rather than real emotion got through...I think mostly because this generation is more likely to upvote a meme than a real feeling.

Some people may WANT to submit an emote of their favorite champion, but may not have the artistic skill to do things as perfectly or adequately as a professional or schooled artist. Draclen18 votesI'm more worried about the people unlucky enough to be near the end of the pages. Most people aren't going to spend hours trying to shift through all of them so if you get stuck later in the line you're pretty much screwed. For instance, I've been through about 30 pages and haven't found mine yet (looking at some of the other submissions I don't think I would've won anyway though).

The order is random, they give you 21 at a time, then when you go to the next page, they put those in a separate 'pile'.
If you go back a page, (I think) it'll be the same 21 as when you were there before, just in a different order.
I don't think its truly random and the duplicates are probably just people submitting theirs multiple times.
I could be totally wrong though, other than the fact that the order is randomized so you don't have to worry about certain images always being on the front page and others always in the back.

Damn, I feel that this judging part is a bit complicated in my opinion. Like, not everyone is going to get to see everything, and those who did do an amazing job, will probably go unseen, which is utterly not fair at all for the individuals who worked really hard....

And then we need to take into consideration on the underdogs, vs people who are extremely popular. Like, imagine you have someone who barely did any effort in their entry, get one of the highest amount of votes because they have an insane amount of followers and they asked them to support his/her entry.
You can already see where the biggest flaw of this contest is.... right?

I also see a lot if comments arguing how its unfair digital artists get an upper hand because of the vibrant colors. But its silly because that shouldn't be the reason to make a talented artist stop and use it as an excuse all the time, everyone has a chance to learn it if they have that determination. And its not like digital artists gets a tablet then magically starts drawing like a god. It takes just as much effort learning any other traditional art mediums!

I saw people with multiple submissions of the same champions which therefore disqualified them and plenty of duplicates with people not putting their name in the top right. I’m not the best artist but it sucks to see that most people won’t even have the patience to find my entry because I entered it at the end. Just my two cents. I know I likely won’t win but I’d rather Riot have cleaned up the entries a bit :(

The voting is in random order so that means you may see some duplicates, but random order helps ensue that we are getting even coverage of voting across all the entries.
The community voting is not the final decision because the community will pick their favorites, but we need to make sure any winners followed the rules in full. You will see entires that do not meet all the rules because it's easier to eliminate entires at the end than before voting. The exception to this is entries that did not fit the content rating required of the contest.
When you submitted your entry you should have gotten a link to your submission, but if you are unable to find it, please submit a ticket to player support and we can find it for you.
mahi mahi16 votes1. i'm sorry but that is simply just not true. we are not seeing duplicates because it's in a random order, we are seeing someone submit their image more than once. there is an order to this and i had to click on so many pages to get as far back to find my gf's submissions, because she submitted them early and they were ALL in the order she submitted them in. meaning those in the first pages are the ones that were generally submitted LAST. which is completely unfair and not randomised at all..
**2. **So all you guys are doing is double checking that it's not something inappropriate/against the rules? Basically just rule checking and not 'solely judging' the art pieces like you said you would. In essence, the community voting is practically a final decision and the artists with more social media followers and those that submitted late are going to be more recognised than those that submitted early and not much social media following.
3. you didn't tell the artist to save that link at all, there was NO indication for ANYBODY that this contest would be like this. It was said that this contest would be solely judged by riot. Random LoL fanbase is not riot.

These submissions are in random order because I've seen my girlfriends on the first page, last page, a few times around the middle, etc. I've also seen multiple pictures from the same artist spread around in different orders even though they submitted them all at once.
Did you even read the contest? Here, I'll quote the day one post they made.

Regardless if they're randomized or not(which they hardly are, going by a large amount of people complaining about it) you have to admit this format is completely and utterly useless for such a vast amount of entries. There are over 100+ pages to go through and Riot sincerely expects fair voting for entries? It's absurd, to say the least. It will blatantly end up being a popularity contest because no one besides people who care for art or feel sorry for the people getting the short end of the stick will vote sincerely using the site. People are relying on making threads/social media posts to boost their votes up because "woobox" has a terrible set up for such a contest, ultimately leading up to this being a popularity contest instead of people just genuinely voting for entries. It's poor taste to set up a contest and have fans wade through dozens of entries FOR Riot, especially with how badly spread out the entries are. Only 21 entries per page in a contest that was globally promoted? And you expect people to just go through most or all of them? You sincerely can't expect this fanbase to sift through entries for Riot just so they can cherry pick at the end of it all. It's unfair to almost everyone who entered. Especially since the community itself are the ones who are policing the entries and not Riot/Woobox. And as for the link? It isn't common sense to save a randomly thrown out link. There was no indication that the link was needed. All the confirmation page showed was that the entry was submitted and a random link next to it, that ultimately lead to nothing at the time if you actually went to said link. The website itself doesn't even have accounts that people could use to save their submissions in or grab from later on. It isn't a sign of caring enough or not to hold on to a random link that did nothing at the time and had no signs of doing anything for future events because there was no clear indication of so. All in all, the idea of this contest was in the right area. But the execution? Poor and seems a bit rushed on Riot's end. [zombie-nunu-bummed]
ShadowGlaive2132 votesIn previous art contests when Riot was the sole judge people complained that there were more deserving entries that didn't make even the honorable mentions list so Riot opened the next contest to voting. The complaint they ran into after that was as you loaded more entries onto the page it got really laggy, which is why I think they limited it to 21 entries per page. Now the complaint is that we have to flip through a lot of pages and that it's a popularity contest. While I understand the complaints and I think the execution was poor, I'm starting to feel like there's no winning in terms of format.

While I was voting there was one of Fid hanging himself that I thought wasn't appropriate and was moderated when shared on the boards.
The link provided after submission didn't lead to my entry.
Obakawaii3 votesSorry about the situation here, but I do wanna toss something your way. There does seem to be something off about the randomness. There are some entries that are ALWAYS on the same page as each other (for instance, there's someone who drew Leona with 6 different expressions). One of my friend's entries is always on the third to last page for me, just in a different spot on the bottom row. There are three cute Gnar emotes by BeorRon that are all on the same page at just this moment. If it wasn't sorted somehow by order of entry or the like, these entries should be scattered about, considering how many entries there are.

PsychicGaming5 votesAs excited as I was for this contest, the thing that kind of sucks is the system used for submitting entries. I have never heard of Woobox up til now, but some feedback on the service is that they need to have an account or entry system in order to cut down on repeat drawings. I feel bad because I had to enter mine about 3-4 times because the preview showed it as cropped in the wrong way, but in reality it was fine the whole time. There was no system in place to edit or delete screw ups, and that took away from the entire process.

I assumed they would just remove the extra ones. :/ I'm super sad about the system they chose to do this with and how unorganized it is.

Unfortunate as I feel as if the really really good entries have just as much visibility as the very bad entries and duplicates, but since those ones outnumber the really good ones they actually get seen much more.
My favorite entries I've seen (but was unable to vote for) are the Towel Wipe Kindred and Grab the Lantern Thresh.

The Sunbreaker 5 votesProbably because he didn't really follow the rules. It's not an emote contest. It's an "extreme" emotion contest. Rage, Despair, etc. All he did was take Riot's own emote idea (which makes what he did not orignal, another rule), and make his own emotes that don't even show extreme emotion in them. Half of the entries I've seen are getting disqualified just because people didn't actually read the rules of the contest Riot made.

patmax173 votesI just wanted to say that I didn't participate to this contest but I definitely like it: the theme is clear but also REALLY broad, and there's a lot of variety in the submissions. Of course there are lots that don't follow the rules, but that's normal with such a large playerbase I guess. I definitely like that there's a lot of variety in drawing skill, people didn't shy away from submitting even if they're not professional artists.
