Chroma IP sales: 3.22.17 - 4.5.17

Heads up! The first chroma IP sale of the year is coming from 3/22/2017 11:00 PT until 4/5/2017 23:59 PT. As we mentioned when Chromas 1.1 launched, IP sales roll out for new chromas five months or more after launch. UPDATE: After their first IP sale, chromas will return every other IP sale (this means chromas from last year’s sale will return after this one).

Snag your favorites for 2000 IP per chroma. Chromas that are overdue for an Early Sale will also be available for 195 RP each. Check out the breakdown below. We’ll smooth out this process so that moving forward, chromas will join Early Sales first and then have an IP sale.

I thought ALL chromas went on sale for IP during each of the sales. :( I'm so sad I missed the previous one. I had lots of IP saved up with the intention of buying every chroma I can based on champions and skins owned. Oh well, at least I can get Cottontail Teemo and Debonair Ezreal.

They didnt make it clear that old chromas would never come back to sales, they literally never said that. If they were going to do this, they really should have made that crystal clear. They didnt even mention it.

What the literal fuck? I was under the impression that all the old chromas would come up for sale during the IP sale, I wanted Nami's chromas and have been waiting for months to get them.

I VERY rarely comment but I just want to post to say that I think that the communication was quite terrible regarding which chromas would be available. In fact, in a recent survey that I completed for RIOT, I noted that the best part about the chromas was that they would all be available for IP save for new ones. Unfortunately, it seems that I was wrong. For those that are chiding others for being upset, I would urge you to see another point of view. Waiting a year between opportunities to purchase a specific chroma for IP is quite frustrating. Saying "every other IP sale" certainly sounds better than saying "once per year." IP chroma sales may be bi-annual but specific IP chromas are certainly annual sales. Seems to be a waste.

In fact, the FAQ makes this more confusing and completely contradictory:

HOW DO I BUY CHROMAS FOR IP? You can purchase chromas for IP during special chroma IP sales that take place twice a year. During these promotion periods, you can purchase a chroma for 2000 IP.

I'm a bit sad, I was hoping to pick up dragon slayer braum and his chromas :/ I have been sitting on kind of a ridiculous amount of ip figuring that was going to be the case.

I'm a little surprised the older chromas are not included in the sale, though it honestly doesn't impact me at all as I had already purchased all my old chromas before the whole chromas for IP was introduced. I was under the impression that the chroma IP sale was meant to give seasoned/veteran players an IP dump. A little sad to know I will have to buy those Lunar Goddess Chroma's separately whenever I do get around to getting that skin. Oh well. At least I will pick up around 10 chromas for free.

It looks like we forgot to include a crucial sentence -- once chromas have gone on IP sale once, they'll return every other IP sale. So the ones you missed in the previous sale will return next time. :-) We're currently working on updating this article to reflect that. Sorry about that!
