Imagine drawing a comic this detailed, color it and then publish it in high quality and make sure u don't make a single mistake..... In a shorter time than a week. (oh btw make it relevant to the story, and it has to make sense and every character needs to stay in character)

Digital artist here, and perhaps I can chime in, at least in terms of production time.

I'm very capable of creating something of this quality in less than 2 hours, but at the same time, that's after untold hours of practice with digital media itself.

I love the work, but I wouldn't say that they did this flawlessly. Two things that kind of drew my attention:

  • Line work could've been cleaned up, which is time consuming, but not overly hard. (Look at Swain's hand, or the teeth/eyes on Illaoi's totem to see what I'm referring to.)

  • Light sources are a bit off. (Best reference I can give is Olaf's arse. If the light source is coming from the totem, which is below, and it's lighting up everything that's along the same perspective, then why does said arse have such dark values?)

I would make an argument that the guy is being sucked into a friggin Kraken idol and all physics, laws and perspectives are out the window at this point.... Unless you have been swallowed by a Kraken before and know what the lighting looks like.

Also, there are a lot of professional paintings out there that don't have 100% clean lines. Take Van Gogh's Starry Night for example. The lines are not at all clean, but it is universally considered to be a masterpiece.

I think given the experience Olaf would be going through at that moment, the messy lines and odd lighting give a subtle, but eerie undertone as he falls into his unknown trial.

If you like the art, I would add a couple examples of where he did well before you list all his mistakes. It's good to know where to improve, but it's just as good to know where you did well.

Van Gogh was not a professional painter.... He's one of if not THE most overrated artists in all of human history. The reason he was made so popular after he was long dead was because he's so easily marketable as the "crazy passionate artist who you need 400 iq to understand how good his work is which is why he never sold single painting in his life"

ninja bunny art is not about it being well drawn and everything looks perfect its about the art showing you what is going on and how well it represents whats going on and thats what makes art good. in my opinion atleast.

I love these comics so much, as a fellow Olaf main you literally make me want to play another match no matter how tilted I am. @Tom you did an absolutely stunning job at portraying both Olaf's personality and movements in the matter of only a few short snippets. Hope to see more of Olaf vs. Everything!
