Kassadin’s all gussied up and about ready to Riftwalk out of the champion update workshop!

Similar to the updates we applied to Singed and Maokai at the tail end of last year, we’re giving Kassadin a visual-only brush up to his base model and skins. That means a new model and textures, plus a whole new set of animations, visual effects and spell effects. We’ve reworked his blade, too, so now it looks a little sharper while costing a bunch less in terms of resources. Even the Void loves toasters.

He needs a new voiceover. His existing one is as shallow as Taric's. For Chrissake, he still has the joke about silencing his mother.

I think if there is one thing they need to keep, it's his joke about regretting silencing his mother. He regrets, because now his mother (Rito is his mother because they created him) punished him by taking away his silence.

na I've been playing kass on the pbe and the 500 range + the lower cds make him viable again. Plus his mana cost on his ult is a lot less.

yeah his jumps are shorter, BUT max rank will have a 2 second cd (1 second if you get CDR, yeah.)

Yeah, the mana cost is insane. Only eight hundred fully-stacked is huge compared to what it used to be. And the low cooldown is insane, at max rank with no cdr it's less than what it used to be with cdr built.

If the CD is 2.0 seconds and you have the maximum 40% CDR, then your new CD is 1.2 seconds.

you know its nice that he no longer looks like a floating carpet but it sucks that you murdered everything that kassadin is. The jump distance needs to be brought back he was in a good place

It seems that everyone is ignoring the fact that his Riftwalk was buffed on the pbe and is being buffed this patch. His R was nerfed because they needed somewhere to start from when balancing it (why they let it go live in 5.4... i don't know, but it could have been to make everyone realize that Kassadin could not survive with a small ranged riftwalk even though it has a 3 second CD late game).

There's the also the little problem they actually released the short range on live. Most companies would not have released something out of beta to live, just to put it back in beta. The whole point of beta is to get the live release right... :p

Somehow even with Yorick being one of the least played champions in the game, I've seen him more than I've seen Galio being played.

i find Galio to be pretty strong tbh, his q do a ton of damage with a slow on short cd, but he dont get nerfed cuz well simply no one plays him at all. only my opinion tho

I guess I play a lot of rejects then. Either that or you simply don't know how to use the champions you call rejects. Urgot : I don't play him (because I suck as him) but he is a really strong champion, assuming you can land a bomb and know how to use his ult effectively. Veigar : I really like the Veigar update. The skill shot makes him able to poke, unlike what he used to do (e and hope they stand under it), as well as letting you get multiple boosts for your buck. The w delay makes it so you have to prepare for where your enemies are going and what skills they have available. It's not that hard, honestly... Skarner : I don't think I've ever been him, but it doesn't seem too hard to use him properly, say building tank, running into enemies and dragging their carry into your team with your ult. Taric : I understand that his character art is abhorrent (cough rito cough), but face it. He's a tanky support that builds off of his tankiness and has hard cc. Not only that, but he can sacrifice PASSIVE armor (none that would be there otherwise) to lower enemies' armor and buff himself and nearby allies with his ult. Swain : He's actually really strong. He has his q to slow enemies in order to land his w easily, then he applies lasting damage with his e and sustains with the life gained by his ult. He's really not that hard. (I'm a little offended you called him a reject...)

If you had to "e and hope they stand under it" pre-5.4, then you have no right to say anything about Veigar's power level.

He's gonna get a bit more range on his ult in this new patch, plus, they didn't even touched the rest of his kit. A 700 unit flash with damage (his ult in previous versions) every 5-6 seconds was just too much power for a single champ with assassination qualities (not even LeBlanc who can hop into a battle and away safely but has a decent cooldown to balance things). The change is good, Kass still has his gap closer (more balanced, of course) plus now he looks superb. Watch how he returns to the spotlight without having to deal with a 75%+ ban rate in drafted matches like in the past.

Kass rework for LCS obviously. Those small differences won't seriously impact your ability to do well in solo queue. I like the new look.

I'm disappointed that they passed on the opportunity to have differently colored void particles for different skins. As an example, I think Deep One Kass would look much cooler with turquoise particles.
