Champion Update: Kassadin

Kassadin’s all gussied up and about ready to Riftwalk out of the champion update workshop!

Similar to the updates we applied to Singed and Maokai at the tail end of last year, we’re giving Kassadin a visual-only brush up to his base model and skins. That means a new model and textures, plus a whole new set of animations, visual effects and spell effects. We’ve reworked his blade, too, so now it looks a little sharper while costing a bunch less in terms of resources. Even the Void loves toasters.

He needs a new voiceover. His existing one is as shallow as Taric's. For Chrissake, he still has the joke about silencing his mother.

you know its nice that he no longer looks like a floating carpet but it sucks that you murdered everything that kassadin is. The jump distance needs to be brought back he was in a good place

It seems that everyone is ignoring the fact that his Riftwalk was buffed on the pbe and is being buffed this patch. His R was nerfed because they needed somewhere to start from when balancing it (why they let it go live in 5.4... i don't know, but it could have been to make everyone realize that Kassadin could not survive with a small ranged riftwalk even though it has a 3 second CD late game).

I'm not going to say anything about his gameplay. I'm just going to say that new Kass looks a lot less stiff than the older one and the new effects look cool as well.

He's gonna get a bit more range on his ult in this new patch, plus, they didn't even touched the rest of his kit. A 700 unit flash with damage (his ult in previous versions) every 5-6 seconds was just too much power for a single champ with assassination qualities (not even LeBlanc who can hop into a battle and away safely but has a decent cooldown to balance things). The change is good, Kass still has his gap closer (more balanced, of course) plus now he looks superb. Watch how he returns to the spotlight without having to deal with a 75%+ ban rate in drafted matches like in the past.

Kass rework for LCS obviously. Those small differences won't seriously impact your ability to do well in solo queue. I like the new look.

I'm disappointed that they passed on the opportunity to have differently colored void particles for different skins. As an example, I think Deep One Kass would look much cooler with turquoise particles.

I like the overall changes(thematic, fluid, etc)... but I do feel his skin is a little too... blue.
