During VS. you can:

Complete daily missions to earn tokens: Start by winning any matchmade game to claim your starting icons. Then complete daily missions with any Order or Chaos icon equipped to earn Order or Chaos Tokens. Missions expire 6/29/17 23:59 PT.

Use tokens to craft exclusive loot: Forge tokens into event-exclusive Chaos and Order rewards such as icons, emotes, and loading screen borders. After the VS. Event ends on 6/29/17 23:59 PT, you’ll have until 7/24/17 23:59 PT to craft leftover tokens into rewards or batches of Blue Essence (every 10 tokens = 10 Blue Essence). If you don’t craft the tokens by the deadline, they will disappear.

Go further with VS. Passes: VS. Passes grant crafting materials, loot (including an orb with a chance to drop loot-exclusive skin shards), double the tokens from missions, and exclusive mission lines with direct paths to a guaranteed gemstone. Passes expire on 6/29/17 23:59 PT.

Will the darkness of Chaos reign, or will the light of Order triumph? None can escape destiny, but you can determine it.

The VS bar moved ONCE during the entire event, from middle to ~35 order/ 65 chaos and just sat there. Next time we could use more stats and the bar should be updated more than ONCE the entire event. Cool event, just wish we could see more of the numbers behind the scenes

The borders are both permanent and tied to the icon. So if you get one of the icons without owning the skin then, say a month after the event, you get the skin you will have the border. :D

This even still makes no sense logically or lore-wise. Literally all of the ninja champs minus Zed understand the whole jist of balance. Chaos can not rule over Order or vice versa.

Yea this event was cool and all but I don't like how it is just an alternate universe and none of it really matters.

From a writing perspective I'm sure it would be hard to have a canon story tied into an event based on player outcomes but I really want more story. Even if it wasn't based on player outcomes I just really want the lore to start to have some kind of tangible moving plot y'know?

I don't know if you read the lore but they have a bunch of story lines started, so I don't see why they don't advance one. Yasuo and Riven are a perfect example actually. These two have history, so why not make this event an actual encounter and have Yasuo and Riven settle things?

From a lore standpoint, if the institute of war still existed it would be written as Yasuo and RIven, both outcasts searching for justice, would be champions for a yet un-named faction. The winning faction would be named in the lore and registered as an official country within the institute of war, allowing further lore-based development of that country in future events.

Side-stories like this are fun in the moment, but riot needs an ACTUAL lore to get people and their wallets interested emotionally beyond "MUST GET SEASON REWARDS" and "MUST GET SHINY SKIN". Like.... If we had real lore, imagine how many people might buy secret weapon zac because, in the lore, he was ACTUALLY a prototype of the same project zac was and let loose in the Institute of war to, say, release the voidbeasts for viktors glorious evolution?

That kind of storytelling is fun, and riot just.... isnt capable of it. Ever since that womens magazine column writer ret-conned the literal league of legends, lore doesnt really exist.

I see your point, but I have to dissagree. The lore may be hard to follow, but that's because it's not written to correlate completely. Small pieces knit together leave more room for interperetation, debate, and imagination, i think. It's fine if you disagree, that's just my opinion.

Its.... More isolated lore events dont give you a deep connection or understanding the world as a whole. When i started playing it wasnt because of "the game" - its because i fell in love with the world they had built; runeterra. I loved the concept of the institute of war, i loved the idea of an infinitely expandable but connected game, and loved being able to link champion lore and advancement of faction lore together.

When riot retconned the institute of war, the league of legends, and the summoners without an immediate replacement they took away one of the games emotional lynch pins and turned a living world into "a bunch of stories that are only loosely related because we have no frame of reference and no timeline". We dont even know if shurimas macro lore is concurent with bilge water or the shadowisles; theyre just stories with no links to each other. WIth the IoW we HAD that link to everything else and.... Ill be honest, no lore riot has put out since the retcon has revived runeterra as an object of emotional attachment to many people. Theres just no reason to care if, say, yasuos lore is that he was framed for his masters death because theres no enforcers for him to turn to. If we had the IoW, yasuo could have joined the league of legends while they looked into his crime while searching for his own answers at the same time. Tie that in with a universe lore piece and you could have a pretty fantastic setting for character development events or even a rework. The BEST reworks are the lore-related kind after all.

I think it's because Yasuo's just easier to play at a low level. He's not a no skill champ, don't get me wrong, but he's fun to play at any skill level, even if you're not great. With Riven, you kinda need to study up on her animation cancels and all that to be effective. It took me many games to learn these, but I'm still not amazing at her. It takes more study for Riven than Yasuo.
