Vote on which charity wins 50% of the charity fund

Riot·Oct 10, 2017·4 votes·23,980 views

This year, fighting with Honor impacts lives around the world. We're matching 25% of Championship Ashe and 2017 Championship Ward sales to form a charity fund. Vote now for your favorite charity by visiting the “Vote for Charity” tab in client. The highest-voted charity receives 50% of the pool, with the other two splitting the remainder. Each player gets one vote, and votes are multiplied based on a player’s Honor level:

Level 3 and below = 1x Level 4 = 1.5x Level 5 = 2x

How each global charity will use the contribution

BasicNeeds helps people with mental, neurological, and substance use disorders. They’ll build sustainable programs in three additional countries with the goal of aiding thousands more with mental health care over the next three years.

Learning Equality brings high-quality education to communities without internet access. They’ll develop and launch their offline learning platform Kolibri to provide rich digital experiences for underserved students in over 175 countries.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation hosts CoderDojos, which are global networks of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people aged 7-17. They’ll lead 5,000 more CoderDojos in communities across South America, India, China, and East Africa.

Voting ends on November 5, 2017 at 11:59 PM PT

Every vote counts towards a cause, and every purchase of Championship Ashe and the 2017 Championship Ward adds to the donation pool. Both are available in the League store until November 5, 2017 at 11:59 PM PT. We’ll announce the total funds raised and the highest-voted charity when voting and sales end. Thanks for supporting these causes, and vote with Honor.

Can you give links to these foundations so we can donate directly to the cause as well as with Championship Ashe?

Thank you Riot for allowing us to vote for a charity. I will be voting for basic needs because my older brother is on the autism spectrum and I have a soft place in my heart for mental illness/disorders so again thank you!!!

Mental diseases are faced with such terrible stigma and lack of understanding; I hope BasicNeeds wins to help out other people!

Vote for BasicNeeds!

Wish these charities were on an independent review site so I could see which ones behave morally; but all three seem to dodge the evaluation process.

We actually performed our own in-house vetting when we were narrowing down our list of possible partners: looking over at least 3 years financial records, program evaluation, and ultimately reviewing their proposed project plan / budget for what they'd do with the prize pool.

From our viewpoint, they're all pretty solid and we're extremely confident that the money we raise will go to the people who need it most!

Perhaps I'm missing something, but the official BasicNeeds website doesn't mention anything about helping people with substance abuse issues...

Heya! BasicNeeds is building efforts to support those with substance use disorders under their mental health initiative. We'll post about how these charities made a difference with the help of your votes down the line. :)

"BasicNeeds is an international Non-Governmental Organisation (iNGO) working to improve the lives of people with mental illness and epilepsy." ???

Vote now for your favorite charity by visiting the “Vote for Charity” tab in client. Its in the first paragraph.

Mysticman89Oct 11, 20171 votes

I doubt I'll want to, but is it possible to change our vote before voting closes if we so wish?

RiotKushnood Oct 11, 20175 votes

Unfortunately not, so look it all over before casting your vote (just like IRL). However, if you vote and then level up in honors before the end of the campaign, your new vote will be multiplied by the latest honors you've gotten.

I didn't see the tab last time I logged in. Was it added with the 7.20 patch?

You guys should've made one of the options be to donate to the people who have lost literally everything in the fires in sonoma county that happened a few days ago.
