League of Stats

Riot·8/6/2018, 7:19:00 PM·5 votes·104,233 views

See how you stack up against players in different ranks. New performance based stats for your Summoner’s Rift games are in your profile now. Find out where your abilities surpass others and when you’re actually the reason for your losing streak.

Choose a position or champion from the Stats tab to get started. Scores break down into three categories: Combat, Income, and Map Control. Those categories separate into both familiar data points and some new ones, highlighting exactly where you’re above or below other players.

Compare Yourself with Pros and Friends

Games are captured from midseason 2018 (patch 8.12). Compare your scores with:

  • Players across different ranks
  • Experts
  • Specific players
  • Players on your friends list
  • Yourself on another champ

Using Stats

Say a Silver Mid Diana main wants to improve her gameplay. She opens her Stats tab and starts with her lowest score, Income. The detailed breakdown indicates average Diana players have a higher Early CS Advantage and CS Per Minute. She clicks a nasty dip and relives a game of chumming the water for Fizz. She watches pros CS against him to turn the tide of her early game income.

Her next lowest score is Combat—her contribution to kills, assists, damage, and utility. Even in her highest Damage Share game, she’s still dealing consistently less damage to enemy champions than other Silver Mid Diana players. Dying in teamfights too soon or arriving too late keeps her from a higher damage output.

Map Control is her best score. If she leverages her map-aware playstyle and starts placing wards in strategic places and roams, she’ll increase her Combat scores, and maybe one day get out of Silver.

Get an idea of how you’re playing over a season or start leveling up specific skills. Start using Stats and let us know what you learn about yourself.

FAQ

What happens next season?

At season start Stats fully resets. Games are measured from then until the next season begins.

Will we ever see data for all previous seasons?

No, we aren’t backfilling data from before midseason. Stats is best used as a performance based tool, and that depends on data being current.

Is this a parity replacement for stats from the old client?

It’s not, and it’s not meant to be. Last we spoke on it, we were exploring options around using stats to help you improve your game or show off your achievements and investment in League. Both angles are cool, but performance-improvement features tend to be more useful (and used) over time, so we steered today’s feature in that direction. We still think there’s room to improve on the achievement and investment side of the coin, but that would be something new rather than a perfect parity lifetime stats page like in the old client.

Are my preseason games still measured after the season is over?

Yes, you’ll see your games until the new season begins and Stats resets.

Will ARAM or Treeline come to Stats?

We’re not currently planning on showing stats for those queues.

Will this data be available via Riot's API?

Yes, we want you to have access to this data. We’re working on getting this out as soon as we can. When it’s live, it’ll show up on our dev site where you access Riot’s API.

Great, now I can see if I truly do play like a bronze 5 player. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

This is hands down the best feature I've ever seen added to League, this is going to help so many players.

Now I know I've apparently only played 27 games on my main since midseason [sg-ahri-1]

what's is the reasoning behind not doing it for twisted treeline.

You guys just release nexus blitz with the intention of "keeping it fresh" with comitment into it.

Here you had a great opportunity of showing us how you will not only focus on SR in the futur (TT as strat, pick ban, laning phase, jgl, objective control, rotation,....) and you just chose to not do it for an unknow reason (aside from the fact you kinda like letting the 3v3 player on the side each time there is a big change like it was for mastery 6/7)

The worth part imo is that, in your faq, you even state it's not even a possibility in a near futur.

As a player who mostly play 3v3, i feel like riot just don't care about me. I was excited for that new tab but as I tend to avoid SR, I have no stat to check at all despise playing on a regular basis, just being the fifth wheel of the community once again [cass-cry]

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is so cool!

Also FYI - the 3rd picture in the article shows the 2nd one when clicked on.

Why is there no love for ARAM & 3v3 @ rito ??[sg-lux-2]

  1. give us stats
  2. give us ranked
  3. underline the teamfight aspect
  4. give it some love...

Hello! Do you plan to release more posts about this feature?

I explain myself: I work as Stats Coordinator for PG Nationals, the Italian Qualifier for EU Masters. Since we haven't an API in which to dig, my work is based on Match History and "home-made" formulas based on LCS stats, which are mostly the same in the new stats tab.

I have some questions tho, about "new" stats like:

  1. Utility Score
  2. Objective Control Ratio
  3. Roam Dominance Score
  4. Kill Conversion Ratio I guess these are all API-related stats, but I wish to know more about them, starting from a definition like the Vision Score post.

I'm looking forward to using these stats in our tournament, as well as to seeing some of them in the LCS [sg-ahri-2]

What does the X axis represent? I honestly don't know, a label would be nice.

The most amazing thing about this post is that people still some how found a way to complain.

Something must be wrong I'm better at everything other then vision and utility as a B3 Support Sona then a Challenger Support Sona. How does that eve happen?

Larriet8/8/2018, 12:53:44 AM2 votes

What does "Kill Conversion" mean? I understand the rest, but that confuses me.

allARAMallday08/7/2018, 7:31:03 PM2 votes

Major boo for not including ARAM (and TT I guess...). This professional data junky wants his numbers! Even if you just basically direct ported it and some stats were basically worthless (CS in aram... maybe if you're nasus :P), I'd really appreciate it.

I don't know if you have a designated place for feedback about this particular Stat Page feature, but...

The Support average is improperly including games where the player has clearly played ADC and it throws off both Bot and Support stats. It happens even if the champion played is an ADC, the role in draft is Bot and the other Bot player is playing a support champion.

I believe the system is identifying the role as Support in cases where the "real" Support has performed better than the "real" ADC in some stats. That could sound reasonable...but it distorts the stats for both roles on the player record. If the player plays some bad ADC games they should still be counted as ADC games to reflect the true role performance. If they are classified as Support perfromances the ADC stats will show better averages than reality, and the Suppot stats will also be affected.

Aside: Riot also does that when assigning Champion Performance Grades (S,A,B,C...) for a game. One can play a bad ADC, the Support does better than the ADC, then the system gives one an A- . The system is clearly rating it as a great Support performance instead of the bad ADC performance it is.
