Emote changes in 8.12

Emotes have upped their game and have a few new tricks to show off in patch 8.12. Here’s what’s new:

EMOTES NOW 350

We hear you and are smacking emote prices with the nerfbat. Since we normally try to communicate price changes two weeks in advance, we’re refunding the difference to anybody who purchased an emote for 450 RP in the last two weeks (May 29 at 12:01 AM PT – June 11 at 11:59 PM PT). This partial refund should appear in your account by June 26, 2018, and we’ll send you an email when it’s done.

As thanks for early emoters, you’ll receive an animated M’Pengu if you purchased any emotes before 8.12 (he'll show up in your account by June 26). He can also be crafted for five gemstones from June 26 – July 10.

EMOTE BUBBLES

Ever wish you could give a kissy-face to your precious toplaner for their crispy first blood, but you’re all the way over in bot lane? Emote bubbles show all emotes from teammates on the left side of the screen. You can disable this in the Settings menu if your friends get too excited.


NEW AUTO-FIRE SLOTS: FIRST BLOOD AND ACE

Show ‘em how you feel without having to think. Slot in your best smile for automatic use on First Blood and Ace.


NOISES FOR EVERYONE

Sing the song of the Pengu: All emotes now include sounds.


COLLECTION UPDATES

You can now view, sort, and purchase emotes you don’t have from your collection.


MYSTERY EMOTE TOKENS

Mystery emotes have freed themselves from bundle reign and are now available on their own. Mystery Emote Tokens (195 RP) will randomly award an unowned emote and will be periodically available in the store. They also drop previously purchasable event emotes that are otherwise unavailable! (But not the earnable emotes. People worked for those.)


REGULAR EMOTE SALES

Emotes older than six months have joined the regular skin sale schedule. Catch them in the League store with the other regular sales.

Is this option to disable is gonna be only for emote bubbles or for emotes in general? cuz I have to individualy disable it for everyone every time I get into a game and I'm tired of doing that...

Getting real sick of emotes. Making them the final reward in quest lines does take the pressure off to actually finish so thats nice. Cant wait for the disable all option in client.

Well, as someone who has now technically lost a lot of RP for purchasing emotes earlier on... Nice changes, I really appreciate emotes being less overpriced than before [cass-cry]

I like the changes but I still feel like either we need more Emote Slots or some separate Emote Pages at least.

It's one thing needing to change runes during most champ selects now, but it's another thing wanting to change my emotes depending on the champion I am. Sometimes it's just a pain trying to have enough time to change both before the game starts, especially in other game modes. If adding more slots to the available wheel seems like a bad idea for whatever reason, then emote pages would still solve the problem a lot so I can have specific emote pages for when I play certain champions; especially when some champions have multiple emotes.

I just really do not care for emotes. If all i get from a chest is an emote i will never use or care about then i feel cheated.

Still not seeing where I can gift friends an emote, how hard can this be and they've been out for a while. This was something that was supposed to be added a while ago and should've just been there from the beginning.

give us back old aatrox! you made his swords generic, cut off his wings, made him into a chatterbox riven, he doesnt even use his wings like shyv, quinn, galio, hell you gave anivia an egg. but attrox just slides on the ground... even tho he had wings. that was my favorite part was his jump. you can keep his revival passive thats ok i guess but his jump and slow was awesome and his ult was too. you shouldnt have given him riven characteristics.

Since 1350 is the regular price for decent skins, like 975 used to be for similar quality, I've just stopped buying things from the store. These kinds of predatory practices where Riot is overcharging for skins, boxes, and emotes, convinced me, and I can imagine many others, from spending any more money on this game. Long time player that spent thousands on league and I've had enough. I play about 1/8th as much as I used to and I won't be supporting Riot anymore until prices lower.

any one else tired of people saying the game is dying? sure its not as good as it once was, however if you feel that its no fun, leave, no one is going to sit here to make you stay. if you enjoy the game, good keep on playing. and when this game comes to a close on that day, lets see who stuck around.
