9.6: Lore Update

Hey everyone! Carrying on our Demacia theme from the last update, this week we’re focusing our new stories on another Demacian favorite.

In this update, we’ve got an updated bio and a new short story for Xin Zhao, recounting how he came into service for King Jarvin III. Also, with the upcoming release of the final issue of Ashe: Warmother, we wanted to take the chance to introduce the series into these Lore Updates for those who may not have had a chance to read it yet.

Absolutely loved Xin's Short story, completely Loved how the King views Demacia and what he wants it to be by sharing that moment with J4, absolutely love Demacia as a region and always down to see more from them. Xin as a character was also really cool in the form of how he came from basically nowhere to want to serve something, how he feels like his duty now belongs to the king and Demacia, would love too see more of his path their and especially with other champs like him like Shyvanna or J4 for instance.

Ok, first comment pretty much ever, here goes!

BUT WHAT ABOUT SONA? Where are you taking her lore direction-wise? Is her etwahl still kind of a JoJo's reference? Is the outdated accomplice-to-murder lore from the League Judgement even applicable to her story, now that it's been (I think) deemed non-canon? Is the etwahl even semi-sentient anymore? Is she going to be fleshed out in detail or just remain with the whole mysterious past plus amnesia idea? I've seen the fan theories about her being cursed/enchanted/whatever back in Ionia but it's still the same Demacian nobility stuff.

Sorry if I come off as too eager or too pushy, I'm just excited that she might become a less of a one-note character--DARN IT PHREAK, YOU'RE IN MY HEAD.

Nice, I really like Xin Zhao's design so it's nice to see his character fleshed out more!

Its funny, as much as I dislike playing as and against xin-zhao, this lore update gave me a sort of respect for the character, and made him seem really badass. noice.

I think that RIOT has forgotten that their game became popular because of the gameplay, not because of the lore.

The decline of league is real.(fun fact, the 3rd most common related topic is hentai...sounds about right.)

Here's a thought, make a legacy league available, like season 2 or 3. I think a lot of players left because the game they loved isn't what the game is now.

so xin is from ionia originally. that makes his character more believable in the universe based on his features and behavior. I'm glad to finally know how he ended up a demacian.
