It’s about time we did an Ascension update!

Each week we’ve noticed that as players get better at Ascension, taking Xerath feels more and more like a trap. You engage him first, do all the hard work and then some Lux snipes him from across the Scar and you wonder why you ever bothered at all. Well, NOT ANYMORE!

Ascended Xerath

Ascended Xerath has felt like a trap for a while. It didn’t feel good to do all the work and have the enemy team snipe him at the end. He now drops an Ascended relic you must be present to collect and Ascend.

Relic Ascendent

Upon death, Ascended Xerath now drops an ascended relic after 3 seconds. The champion who stands unopposed on the relic will Ascend!
Enemies can body-block and steal the Ascension, so clear them all off the ascended platform beforehand to be safe.
In the event of allied champions squabbling over the ancient power, priority is given to the player who killed Xerath.

Ascension is now available and lasts through the evening on Monday (we’ll shut it down very early Tuesday morning--usually between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM).

As part of our ongoing commitment to refreshing the RGM modes, we’ve started with Ascension this week and the Ascended Xerath change. Hopefully now you can engage him guilt-free and become the Ascended god-beast-man-creature you always knew you could be. Go forth. FOR SHURIMA!

honestly though this is complete bs right now, nexus siege is gonna be back again soon and yet i dont even like that game mode like why are you doing this to us

IN 1 month, nexus siege will have been put in the rotating gamemode queue more than URF, which seems odd considering URF is more popular, AND has been a gamemode WAY longer than nexus siege has been.

maybe because URF is just mana-less Summoner's Rift with nearly no CDs... not much of a "game mode."

urf routinely lasts 25-35 minutes if opps dont ff at 20 .

the snub of urf is proof that riot does not care about the players and see us all as faceless cash cows to exploit .

Or you know, Riot does care. Just because they don't put in one game mode for a while doesn't mean they don't care about their players. They're trying to make something they find more fun than urf, because it's not really a game mode that took a lot of effort. That's why they don't put it in very often. Or maybe, they're making a new map for it. I don't know, but you are a problem, and you should leave if you're complaining

The thing is, they need to TELL US THIS. The fact that they are silently sitting there not saying shit while urf just sits here unplayed, just proves how bullshit this thing is. If they were to say "Oh yea we have a surprise regarding urf that will force us to disable it until October" Then, I wouldn't be as pissed because I KNOW whats going on. The same happened with solo queue, and pretty much almost everything they have done.

Hexakill was much more fun when it first came out since we were able to play on Summoners rift,but because they changed it to such a small map the gamemode feels so dull

cant wait for next week, i <3 nemesis draft ^^ me and my friends had so much fun playing it last time it was around. we would all agree to give our opponents marksmen that focused a lot of AA like Vayne , MissFortune and Ashe and we would all rush item 3075 no matter what champs they gave us, and from there we would get item 3068 item 3143 and watch them kill themselves by just being around them XD those games didn't last for as long as we wished they would as they would end up with our opponents ragequitting or surrendering @ 20 now that i look back though i kinda feel bad >_<

No point in poro king, it just aram with a bigger poro. Nexus siege is very boring. Dominion is meh. Ascension, is boring too. Nexus draft, haven't seen that mode in forever. Hexakill, One-for-all, URF, and DOOM BOTS, GIVE US THESE!!! Or at least make doom bots a permanent mode in player vs bots. Just my opinions.

YOU find certain game modes boring, but others like them. Poro King is not just ARAM because there is a banning process and picking champions. Now I'm not a fan of Nexus Siege, but a lot of people enjoyed it, personally I hated it and found it stupid and one sided always. I enjoy Ascension and am happy about this update. I enjoy this game mode, just like I enjoy URF, and I would LOVE to get Doom bots back, but there is coding issues with Doom Bots to be released into the game rotation. Do you not remember the level system? to have that implemented wouldn't work well and to code the champions to do all those extra skills isn't a simple task.

Sad that the best option we have for trying to get URF back is flooding the weekly RGM post with comments about wanting it back. Here is mine. Please give us urf back. It makes little to no sense that all of these other modes have been in rotation 3+ times yet somehow the second coming of Jesus Christ is more likely to happen than URF coming back. Thanks Rito

Side Note. Has anyone started like a petition to get URF back? Maybe an actual document showing number of people interested would help our cause.

I'll probably come back for Nemesis Draft though, it looks fun and was released when I was on hiatus from league, it looks like a nice change of pace.

Civ 5 ftw. But ehh, i found nemesis boring. It's just rift with champions you probably don't want to play, unless you happen to main Urgot or Yorick. Rarely do people do anything interesting with it.

OK! So THIS TIME AROUND I can only imagine URF being delayed from the rotation because maybe they still need to work out how to balance Kled's unique mechanics so can't instantly get Skarl back right away? Maybe?

Whole point of URF is making everyone OP by reducing their cooldowns to just about nothing, and while it's definitely a problem if someone or another is overly overpowered, Kled wouldn't be the only one. URF can get un-fun after a while because it's just inherently imbalanced, and it's still so popular that you can't really play anything but it when it's on.

...Nemesis Draft URF. Everyone would get stuck with weak champs, but it would still be fun because it's still URF, and it wouldn't be so oppressively popular because it would still be Nemesis Draft. Furthermore if someone wanted to try something in particular out, they could do it in a custom.
