_**Lowering**_ the price of Eternals sets
Still a Pay Wall. Nothing changes, as predicted.
Bet cha it was their intention from the start just to make the lowered price seem more reasonable
That's a PROPER EA strategy!
Still have to pay, BE or otherwise, for what the old client offered for free? FORGET IT !!
They should all cost BE and not RP.
honestly make the unquie ones only avaliable in BE shop while commons are year round. I'm fine with that. But the current state? Not one bit.
Still terrible. Making them cheaper changes nothing as this kind of garbage is only for whales to begin with, none who hated Eternal before will now turn around and buy them that they're cheaper save for the very most simple minded ones who are now lured in by the "really good price" that you set the frame for what is a bad price for them days ago. This is a pay to participated miscellaneous stat tracker glorified as an achievement system and the by far worst idea you guys ever had when it comes to making money. I fucking remember when all the common stats would be tracked for fucking free by the old client, you took that away and now try to sell it back to us as a big cool new shiny thing, and all I can say to that is fuck you! At least the god awful season passes offer some rudimentary sort of entertainment for people who absolutely adore paying to be able to grind their sanity away for pReStIgE sKiNsSsSsSs, and wasn't a lazy disgusting cash grab that costed a programmer maybe 20 minutes to implement, and make no mistake, it actually only took him 20 minutes even though he claimed the compiling alone took a week! At least that programmer had a fun time with this shit ass system pretending to work getting money for nothing I guess.
Still have to pay for achievements?
I'm still out.
Glad you guys changed it
Perhaps we don't have the full picture, what is the future plan of Eternals?
Next year can we expect twice the amount? How much will those cost? Will rewards increase?
I think separating them into unique and common was a great choice.Granted the unique ones are not like land an R or something.
The price still feels too steep, but maybe if the future contains more for the Eternals we pay for now it may feel more worth it?
Personally, I'd love to have insanely hard missions. Is that a realistic prospect for the future?

Paying for them is just sour no matter which way you spin it, especially without a hard guarantee that something may come along to make the cost worthwhile (like a special chroma or icon or something). It's also a major kick in the balls to expect players to be excited about buying achievements when major game companies have been including them for free for over a decade now.
Thing is I feel like Riot knows something we don't, whether it's a surprise or unfinished portion. I just don't think Riot would attempt this in this state unless they had a plan. Maybe I'm too far outside the box on this one.
They were clear about Chromas, that it must be usable regardless of skin. That's why I thought something like a recall or ward with a banner of that champion would work.
Some other companies do charge for extra achievements, but usually they are tied to maps etc. like Halo for instance. That's the thing for me, I think they just need to tie one more thing to it and it will be solid. I just don't know what that is or can be.

Whether they know something we don't or have plans, implementing a paid system of stat tracking and expecting gamers to get excited about it is just poor product planning. If there WAS something else they're adding to this to make it more palatable, that needed to have been told to us up front to get us interested in buying the things. What they've done is hope that paid achievements would be interesting, to which players have demonstrated that such a thing will be dead on arrival.
And regarding Chromas, they were NOT clear about them, just like they were not clear about literally every other low effort product they've launched like Event passes, Variant Skins, and Prestige Points. All of their new products have been met with extreme backlash because of how poorly implemented they were, and in the case of Chromas, backlash because of absolutely shit efforts that were put into the original launch. Every single one of these new products had to be halted and taken back to the drawing board for re-evaluation when they were revealed to the public. Frankly, if I were Riot at this point, I would be beginning to reconsider the validity of my product planning team, because their track record has proven to be abysmal at best. Chromas are still largely hit or miss anyway. You get stellar ones like Mafia Braum and Pool Party Graves, but then you get boring ass recolors like Arcade Miss Fortune and Project LeBlanc. Their standard of quality for Chromas is all over the place.
Yeah, that's why I was asking lol. I was hoping they'd bring that out Riot likes surprises. Sometimes that's to their own detriment. I was just hoping they'd say something about it ya know?

Weeeeellllll.....
- For rewards from Eternals, I'd love to open up this discussion to the group: What rewards for rekindling sets would you think would be satisfying? BEFORE YOU ANSWER, I'm afraid I have to put a few limitations on you to make sure we don't annihilate scope / make Eternals feel good by tacking on another content type as a reward. Try to think of something that feels self-contained, and usable on the champion regardless of the skin they choose. That means no skins, no chromas. Other than that, hit me.

There's only a couple of things that I can think of. Finishers and homeguard trails (like the LGBTQ one). Those are universal, can be tailored per champion, and I'd actually buy into it for those.
I think a finisher would be the best.
I think a finisher would be the best.
It would be, but homeguard trails would be awesome too (I meant that, not a recall trail).
For games you BUY maybe, but free to play games, as they noted some in their first blog show they sold similar stuff (even in subscription based, just be glad they didn't go that route)

Customers have very little reason to be glad that a business made decisions in it's own interest, just like how we do not need to be grateful that a game is free-to-play with premium microtransactions. And free-to-play games do have achievements, better ones for no cost.
Better.
Still no ideal, but better. Hopefully they make it more worth it and/or eventually have rare eternals show up in BE.
This doe seem better than the original at the very least. And I like that you can buy them for BE occasionally. As an older player still sitting on 100k or more of BE, I like the option of having more to spend it on.
Well, yeah, that would be the plan from the start. It's why you would do this.
It was never the plan from the start to put them in the Blue Essence Emporium. .-. Hence me saying that I liked that they were available there twice a year. Again, I don't understand what you and the other person are talking about.
He's referring to how we used to have this for free and I am referring to how this matches marketing for how you would do this. Whether it's Rockstar or your local department store, it would safe bet it was the plan because that is what it looks like.
Except the old client offered what you can buy with BE for completely free.
...Just some food for thought.
I'm failing to understand what your post is referring to... They're going to have common Eternals for buying with Blue Essence(the free points you get just by playing the game) through the Emporium. Which is nice since there's nothing, as an older player with all of the champions, for me to buy so I'm just accumulating huge amounts of BE for nothing.
Okay, to be blunt: Do we agree the EAternal$ are just glorified stat-trackers? And if so, do you remember the old client?

It offered plenty of stat-tracking built-in, simply through their API.
