Worlds Pick’em is Coming!

Pick’em is returning for the 2018 World Championship! Go head-to-head against friends, casters and the rest of the League community to see whose powers of prediction will reign supreme. If your picks pan out, you’ll walk away with awesome rewards exclusive to this year’s event.

Pick’em will be live for the Group Stage and Knockout Stage, and each stage will have a corresponding mission in-game.

Group Stage: Brackets and mission available on October 7 at 9:00 AM PT. Mission must be completed before the start of Group Stage games on October 9 at 11:59 PM PT.
Knockout Stage: Brackets and mission available on October 17 at 1:00 PM PT. Mission must be completed before the start of Knockout Stage games on October 19 at 8:00 PM PT.

Your window to make picks is smaller this year, so be sure to get in there before the next stage begins!

Prizes

Pick’em Poro Icons

Two new Poro icons are up for grabs. You’ll get the 2018 participation icon when you complete the Pick’em Group Stage mission. If you score at least 34 points during Pick’em, you’ll also receive the Worlds Wizard Pick’em Poro summoner icon.

Worlds Tokens

For completing the Knockout Stage mission, you’ll get 10 Worlds tokens that can be spent on Worlds Season loot in-game. For more information about the Worlds Season 2018 event and how Worlds tokens can be used, check out this article.

Ultimate Skins

If you overcome the odds and get every single pick correct, you’ll be rewarded with a set of five Ultimate skins: Elementalist Lux, Pulsefire Ezreal, Spirit Guard Udyr, DJ Sona, and Gun Goddess Miss Fortune.

Distract from worlds? People who watch worlds, watch worlds. Those who play for fun, play for fun. There's no such thing as a distraction when you are giving your player base a game mode they enjoy.

You can play competitively and have fun, but I believe he means "fun" as in, they like to casually play the game every now and then, but couldn't care less about what doesn't involve them or what's right in front of their face, like they don't go out of their way to seek more LoL content.

This is exactly what I was thinking. You want me to get interested in Worlds? Don't play it at 4am on a weekday. However, League is owned by a Chinese company and that makes sense for them. We can't win them all. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Saying that you wont watch worlds cause of the timezone and stating that Leagues is a "Chinese" owned company therefore they're bias is totally ignorant. For one Worlds is Held in South Korea so i see no Chinese bias there and secondly even WHEN worlds was held in NA the majority of viewership was from Chinese natives at 2AM their time. So really its more of the fact that NA obviously isn't as devoted.

I wish, but riot is afraid because whenever urf is here they lose so much of the player base to it. I don't see the problem though, if players love urf, let them play urf

They aren't forced to play urf though. If they like League in its normal form, they can play that. People aren't forced to play RGMs

There is a thread somewhere where Riot talked about why URF will likely never return in its base form. What I remember is that essentially the fallout of bringing it back makes it net too negative on player count.

The community voted that ARUF was better to avoid the constant "toxic" picks. This poll was taken before the 10 ban system though. If they did LCS style bans I'm sure URF would be great

See, that's where I have an issue. There are over 100 champions in the game and in ARURF you never saw more then half of them.

Not only 10 bans, probably should have 12 bans and it should be draft pick. I would propose nemesis pick but that may have too much of a negative impact

They had a big Text that the riot had more active player during urf than usual but after urf more ppl than usual quit LOL. And more ppl quit league cuz of urf than more player coming new or reinstall lol cuz of urf. so every time they bring urf they do minus in player and the rest is in my opinion just covering that fact
