Ascension is now live

The friendly frosts of Snowdown have melted and given way to a raging Shuriman sandstorm. Ascension is now live from 1/13/17 - 1/16/17 and 1/20/17 - 1/23/17.

Check out our last Ascension post for more details on the rotating game mode. For those who just need a TL;DR:

Go 5v5 to claim the incredible power of Ascension by taking down Ancient Ascendant Xerath. Use Ascension to conquer the Crystal Scar of Shurima.

First team to reach 200 points wins. Score:

1 point for champion kills.
3 points for capturing a Shuriman relic.
5 points for landing the killing blow on an Ascended champion.
2 points for each kill you acquire while Ascended.

Go forth. Conquer. Ascend.

Its interesting when they say oh we cant put in URF because its not updated on the new client.....? so you prioritized putting and updating poro king and ascension? above all the others? how sad is that.

That's not even the sad part...

The sad part is that URF has been so absent throughout the year (9 weeks of Poro King, 9 weeks of Ascension, 2 weeks of URF).

And now, it's not ready for the new client. So when you ask about this year's URF, you get the "yeah it's because of the client" (But how about the months before the new client ?).

That's what really saddens me. The RGM ended up to be harmful for the people who really liked URF and a few other modes.

I wish I could enjoy Poro King and Ascension as much as some people do, so I would know what it's like to play my favorite mode more often than 6 days a year...

Just furthering your point, its actually closer to 5 or 5.5 days, because its only half a day on Friday, not the full day. And it was before the full day of Monday for the RGM's.

Just to say, without the RGM and if we got URF like we had the prior 2 years, we would have had URF about 9 more days then we did.

Dear Riot, PLEASE RESPOND! Even if we don't get URF back please at least talk to us! I (and many others) want to know what is going on. Literally the top 10 comments every week are a variation of "BRING BACK URF", so if you aren't giving us what we want at least tell us why.

I've been trying to get L4T3NCY's attention for over half a year, he doesn't pay the community any attention unless you happen to message him within the first hour of him 'watching the thread all day/ for the rest of the day' and he will ignore any questions when he responds.

Hopefully the poster of this thread will pay more attention (L4T3NCY posted everything else relating to RGM before this).

Ascension is probably my third favorite mode, but what happened to the other ones? It feels like it is Nexus Seige, Ascension, and Poro King all the time.

What does RGM stand for again? Repeating Game mode? Random Game Mode? ~~Rubbish Games Mode?~~ But really, isn't it supposed to be a rotation of games?

After this post saying next week is Ascension... That gives us 9 weeks of Ascension, 9 weeks of Poroking, 6 weeks of One For All, 5 weeks of Hexakill, 4 weeks of Nexus Siege, 3 weeks of DND(can we get DNDND(definitely not definitely not Dominion, aka Dominion) any time?) 2 weeks of Doombots, 2 weeks of URF, 1 week of ARURF, and 1 week of Nemesis... for a total of 42 weeks (next week) of this game mode. And as you can see, the games are weighted to specific games, and away from others...

be patient? we waited a whole year but Riot ruined it with Draven Day, that was the most Disappointing moment of my life and i am never forgiving Riot for doing that. in fact i think i barely played league that day.

How hard is it to just do this.... 4 weeks in a month... 1 Full entire week for each game mode which gives a large margin of time for each player depending on situations, you honestly dont even think about player base at all. ACTUALLY ROTATE GAME MODES, poor choices and overused and overrated PORO KING AND ASCENSION these games Modes need to go on a major hiatus. in the last 6 months what do you think of when you hear league of legends "Rotating" game mode? I dont even think of urf, I think of Poro KING and Ascensions

Ascension: Rengar, Kat, Poppy, Jhin, Shaco, Sona Hexa: Kat, Zed, Blitz, Fidd, Yasuo, Fizz, Shaco Poro king: Fidd, Kat, Blitz, Galio, Skarner, Shaco, Sona, Master Yi, Malphite, Varus, Nidalee, Jayce Nexus siege: Lux, Zyra, Yasuo, Gangplank, Shaco Dominion: Master Yi, Yasuo, Kat, Shaco, One for All: Lux, Alistar, Lee Sin, Yasuo, Kat, Brand, Kennen, Wukong, Blitz, Darius, Tahm Kench. Nemesis Draft: all the forgotten champs. ARURF: The Free to play Champs had a much higher chance of being picked and u would have them more then any other champ.

Plz Riot, stop Disappointing us, i can't take another week 9 weeks of Ascension and Poroking and have u not notice how long the Queue times are for Ascension right now? almost a Minute.

Please do not EVER call DND 'Dominion" it isn't anything close to the game mode that was dominion.

It also took me longer then I care to admit to find out who Rebnar is.

And any game you play will have a meta, doesn't mean that champions don't work, but in URF people feel more oppressed because the snowballyness of the game. (Don't get me wrong, I love URF and want it back, but that's why people complain so much.)

Side note, URF has as much versatility as normal SR does, and a hell of a lot more then pro play does.

Honestly, eventually Riot will run out of excuses as to why they aren't including URF in the RGM, and I'd like to see what they say when that time comes. Riot listens to the community most of the time, except for RGM. "We want URF" says the community. "Here's Poro King, Ascension, and Nexus siege every week" replies Riot. And then we never get URF.

Idk about everyone else but Ascension gives me a chance to play unique champions with unique builds. Sometimes I try Alistar full AD/AP or Nami AD crit. The perhaps only reason I am able to try these builds is because of Ascension gold gain so yeah. Also URF is pretty cancer because people only pick OP, ARUF isn't as fun because you can't try what you want to try.

I strongly disagree.

The highest pick rates weren't even the highest winrates. People just happened to pick what they had the most fun with. There is no champion (from those I've often seen on the enemy team) that we couldn't defeat with a "fun/non-URF-meta" pick. It was all about counter and about learning to adapt your build and your playstyle.

ARUF isn't as fun because you can't try what you want to try.

I strongly agree.

"Here, take Kalista, have fun against this Zed main. We're glad URF is balanced and that the result of the game is pretty much decided at the loading screen, it's much funnier, right ? Enjoy it while it lasts, because it won't come back before months anyway."

Or even better : "Oh, URF is back ! I can't wait to play Veigar, I have ever tried him in URF. Oh, they gave me Tahm Kench... With the amount of URF we get each year, maybe I'll NEVER get to play Veigar in URF in the next 3 years. But at least I don't see Ezreal every 3 games, right ?"

The way they handled this mode saddens me so much.
