Last year, players from all corners of the world rallied together to support 20 impactful nonprofits with the Dark Star Cho’Gath fundraiser. For this year’s charity fundraiser, we’re making our 1,000th skin extra special by donating 100% of proceeds from Dawnbringer Karma—and other related items—to the newly formed Riot Games Social Impact Fund at ImpactAssets, our charitable financial partner. The complete list of items we’ll be donating 100% of the proceeds from include:

Dawnbringer Karma skin
Dawnbringer Karma chromas
Dawnbringer Karma border set
Dawnbringer Karma bundle
Dawnbringer Karma Heart bundle
‘All Love’ emote

Dawnbringer Karma will be on sale from December 12, 2019 through January 13, 2020 before the items are removed from the shop. The Dawnbringer Karma skin and related content may eventually return in the Gemstone shop, but won’t be available for direct purchase after this fundraiser has ended.

The Social Impact Fund is a unique, philanthropic venture fund, which is a separate entity from Riot Games the game developer and publisher. This fund will allow us to make direct investments and charitable contributions to a wide array of global organizations that are aimed at solving some of the world’s most pressing problems. To date, Riot has already donated over $4 million on players’ behalf to promote equality in education, opportunity, and global citizenship.

Being a global company allows us to approach social impact with a global mindset. However, we know that some of the best solutions to social problems are found by those who are closest to the work. With the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, players will be able to decide the causes they want us to support in every corner of the world.

In the first quarter of 2020, players will be able to vote on different social issues that they want to see supported in their local regions. Riot will allocate a majority of the money raised through the Dawnbringer Karma fundraiser for nonprofits addressing causes that players vote are most important to them.

We’ll announce the specific nonprofits as soon as we can, but there are a lot of legal processes we need to follow in advance of a full announcement. For now, we can share that each nonprofit will be independently vetted for effectiveness and authenticity, selected based on local issues players have told us are most meaningful and resonant with them, and guarantee that each one will receive a minimum of $10,000 USD. Expect more news about the voting process in early 2020.

It’s truly remarkable what can happen when players rally together to help their communities. From all of us at Riot Games and from our nonprofit partners, thank you for everything you’ve done and we look forward to continuing moving forward together.

So you have to purchase rp which goes directly to riot and spend some of it to go to charity why not make the skin a separate money purchase so people know how much money they are donating? Rather than have a confusing pseudo form of currency that riot can change the worth of. This makes the amount they give to charity a crapshoot.

I believe what Riot does is they can see how many people decided to purchase the skin with rp, so lets low ball it and say 100,000 people buy the skin. Riot then calculates the amount of RP the skin is worth (In NA its rounded to about $10) then they probably take that amount of money calculated most likely out of their 4th quarter earnings as a tax ride off because its for charity.
I'm not sure what the skins valued at in other regions, but at least in NA its a very easy to calculate $10 since $10 gives you 1380rp and the skin is 1350rp. As for the chromas, since their 290rp a pop and the lowest amount of rp you can purchase is 650rp for $5, you would take the percentage of 290 and 650 (which is 45% if rounding) and multiply that percentage by $5. Thus you end up with riot donating around $2.25 per chroma (In NA).

You say 100% of the proceeds Riot Games receives goes to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund which is simple enough, but then that amount is administered through the Impact Fund entity by 'ImpactAssets', and finally on to the charity. This is a number of steps for donated funds versus Riot Games directly donating to a charity.

Could you please tell us what percent of the proceeds will end up going to the charities, net of administrative costs through Riot Games Social Impact Fund and ImpactAssets ?

impact assets is ainvesment capital firm so they will get more than the charity cuz thats how investment capital firms work they take your money in and distribute it for you but you have to pay them to give your money to charity for you. its pretty sketchy to use a really big time investment firm to handle your charity shit

Not everyone want to commit to the same amount, and the red chroma bundle gives the opportunity to give more. This is not a simple I want that skin choice. It's a charity skin, so normal rules don't apply.

Riot why are you not letting us buy just one chroma?? I have RP and I want other skins more than Dawnbringer Karma, I only wanted to buy it cause it's a charity skin but I don't like the colors without a chroma, I just want one chroma, not all of them, I wont use them. Other people are asking for the same, please enable the option so we can buy the skin, please. Thank you.

As if even half the players who will ever see it pay enough attention to the news page to even know it was bought from a charity event. The most they might think--like any other skin--is "ooh nice skin. I might look into how to get tha...but meh maybe not. Match is starting." Or "dang, kinda wish I bought that when I had the chance. Looks pretty cool" I feel this is far more about getting a cool skin in addition to the feel-good bonus of donating to a charity. I have an issue w this "charity" skin. This ISNT like donating to a good charity that i choose to donate to. Plenty of charities are not something i would even donate to. That said, the Jax skin and the Cho skin were charities that either 1. Is an excellent charity with a great purpose that i believe in (Jax) or 2. was a variety of charities I PERSONALLY could choose where MY money went (Cho)~Likewise, others could choose another charity from the list THEIR money could go to. For this Karma charity skin u've chosen to get the money first then LATER the LEAGUE COMMUNITY chooses where MY money goes??? Have u played w these people? U DO REALIZE u have placed a way to MUTE ALL CHAT in interface for a reason...n yes, my mute all chat in interface IS ENABLED...this is a pretty toxic community and i dont want others to decide where my donations are going to be donated...I Personally LOVE "Make A Wish"~but would my money go there if I buy the Karma skin stuff?? Who knows??? Its a vote left in the hands of the league community...Id rather go donate directly to the charity of MY CHOICE. Makes me sad u guys did this...u should have allowed us to choose from a list of charities personally BEFORE we decide to donate...like u did w the Cho skin. Riot why is it that Soraka and Karma don't have event exclusive chromas or borders but all the other Dawn/Night bringer skins get one? Feels kinda shitty as a support main; y'all keep shafting us with prestige, event, and gemstone skins and it's really getting old.

They both do. Soraka's borders are only from her bundle plus she is a Legendary + variant so she doesn't get Chromas (just like Lee who is a Skin + Prestige Variant).

And all of Karma's content is only from her bundles as the proceeds of her go to charity and she may or may not return in the future.

Then they don't have Event chromas, those are bundle cash grab chromas and some of the worst offending ones to date with a single Ruby chroma costing more than the skin itself. It still feels shitty when they've given support the short end of the stick with exclusive content since the very beginning of crafting and event exclusives. And Karma is not exclusive just "mythic" so she'll still be available you just won't be able to get the border unless you pay the 1400RP.

Karma indeed does have the Paragon Chroma, it is part of her bundles only. Soraka does not have a Paragon or Pariah chroma as she is a Dual Legendary Variant.

She will not be available for purchase and isn't in crafting right now, nore will she be unless she returns in the gem store. This is exactly the same thing that happened with Dark Star Cho, he was removed and made completely unavailable in any fashion till he returned to the gem store. There's no guarantee that she will return either.

Detainees = locked up = illegal immigrant They don't detain legal immigrants that come through the checkpoints you only wind up in a detention facility if you cross illegally otherwise they just give you a court date to take care of any legal issues and you have to come in on your own. I'm all for immigration but either come through legally or not at all.

Make the chromas separate! Regardless of charity or not, your system will be able to know what was bought and there is really no excuse not to sell them stand alone. Also just because shes a charity skin, why isn't she allowed to have a border and icon?

Oh yeah they definitely could have but they really aren't interested in small transactions like they used to be. Riot used to put out content targeting players with a limited gaming budget of about $15 a month but they've since changed tack and started going after pre-teen whales instead by dangling "exclusive content" that really isn't worth that. Making the ruby chroma account for 1400 RP worth of the bundle is completely uncalled for and just plain greedy. The fact that her chromas are only available in the bundle is totally illogical. I was actually going to get the bundle but I'm probably not gonna get the skin at all now just because I don't want to encourage this kind of marketing.

Yes, all the Dawnbringer Karma related content will go away once the fundraiser is over. They may come back as gemstone exclusives in the future though
