Dawnbringer Karma Charity Skin

Last year, players from all corners of the world rallied together to support 20 impactful nonprofits with the Dark Star Cho’Gath fundraiser. For this year’s charity fundraiser, we’re making our 1,000th skin extra special by donating 100% of proceeds from Dawnbringer Karma—and other related items—to the newly formed Riot Games Social Impact Fund at ImpactAssets, our charitable financial partner. The complete list of items we’ll be donating 100% of the proceeds from include:

  • Dawnbringer Karma skin
  • Dawnbringer Karma chromas
  • Dawnbringer Karma border set
  • Dawnbringer Karma bundle
  • Dawnbringer Karma Heart bundle
  • ‘All Love’ emote
 
 

Dawnbringer Karma will be on sale from December 12, 2019 through January 13, 2020 before the items are removed from the shop. The Dawnbringer Karma skin and related content may eventually return in the Gemstone shop, but won’t be available for direct purchase after this fundraiser has ended.

The Social Impact Fund is a unique, philanthropic venture fund, which is a separate entity from Riot Games the game developer and publisher. This fund will allow us to make direct investments and charitable contributions to a wide array of global organizations that are aimed at solving some of the world’s most pressing problems. To date, Riot has already donated over $4 million on players’ behalf to promote equality in education, opportunity, and global citizenship.

Being a global company allows us to approach social impact with a global mindset. However, we know that some of the best solutions to social problems are found by those who are closest to the work. With the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, players will be able to decide the causes they want us to support in every corner of the world.

In the first quarter of 2020, players will be able to vote on different social issues that they want to see supported in their local regions. Riot will allocate a majority of the money raised through the Dawnbringer Karma fundraiser for nonprofits addressing causes that players vote are most important to them.

We’ll announce the specific nonprofits as soon as we can, but there are a lot of legal processes we need to follow in advance of a full announcement. For now, we can share that each nonprofit will be independently vetted for effectiveness and authenticity, selected based on local issues players have told us are most meaningful and resonant with them, and guarantee that each one will receive a minimum of $10,000 USD. Expect more news about the voting process in early 2020.

It’s truly remarkable what can happen when players rally together to help their communities. From all of us at Riot Games and from our nonprofit partners, thank you for everything you’ve done and we look forward to continuing moving forward together.

So you have to purchase rp which goes directly to riot and spend some of it to go to charity why not make the skin a separate money purchase so people know how much money they are donating? Rather than have a confusing pseudo form of currency that riot can change the worth of. This makes the amount they give to charity a crapshoot.

Why do they have to charge 1410 RP just for the exclusive red chroma when comparing the Dawnbringer Karma Bundle vs. Dawnbringer Karma Heart bundle? That's more than the skin itself...

You say 100% of the proceeds Riot Games receives goes to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund which is simple enough, but then that amount is administered through the Impact Fund entity by 'ImpactAssets', and finally on to the charity. This is a number of steps for donated funds versus Riot Games directly donating to a charity.

Could you please tell us what percent of the proceeds will end up going to the charities, net of administrative costs through Riot Games Social Impact Fund and ImpactAssets ?

This is great but why is the red chroma bundle 1400 more than the other chroma bundle? I know its going to charity, but 1400 for one chroma is highway robbery.

Riot why are you not letting us buy just one chroma?? I have RP and I want other skins more than Dawnbringer Karma, I only wanted to buy it cause it's a charity skin but I don't like the colors without a chroma, I just want one chroma, not all of them, I wont use them. Other people are asking for the same, please enable the option so we can buy the skin, please. Thank you.

You need be more open door policy with this idea, the devil is in the details. Exact numbers so we can reach a donation goal. Would rather just donate actual cash to said charities myself.[sg-lux-2]

I have an issue w this "charity" skin. This ISNT like donating to a good charity that i choose to donate to. Plenty of charities are not something i would even donate to. That said, the Jax skin and the Cho skin were charities that either 1. Is an excellent charity with a great purpose that i believe in (Jax) or 2. was a variety of charities I PERSONALLY could choose where MY money went (Cho)~Likewise, others could choose another charity from the list THEIR money could go to. For this Karma charity skin u've chosen to get the money first then LATER the LEAGUE COMMUNITY chooses where MY money goes??? Have u played w these people? U DO REALIZE u have placed a way to MUTE ALL CHAT in interface for a reason...n yes, my mute all chat in interface IS ENABLED...this is a pretty toxic community and i dont want others to decide where my donations are going to be donated...I Personally LOVE "Make A Wish"~but would my money go there if I buy the Karma skin stuff?? Who knows??? Its a vote left in the hands of the league community...Id rather go donate directly to the charity of MY CHOICE. Makes me sad u guys did this...u should have allowed us to choose from a list of charities personally BEFORE we decide to donate...like u did w the Cho skin. NOT going to buy this Karma skin because of this reason and this reason alone. This can get political real quick.

Will the Chromas for the skin be available on an individual basis or can they only be bought as a bundle? As of right now, I can only see the entire bundle for 2975rp.

Riot why is it that Soraka and Karma don't have event exclusive chromas or borders but all the other Dawn/Night bringer skins get one? Feels kinda shitty as a support main; y'all keep shafting us with prestige, event, and gemstone skins and it's really getting old.

Make the chromas separate! Regardless of charity or not, your system will be able to know what was bought and there is really no excuse not to sell them stand alone. Also just because shes a charity skin, why isn't she allowed to have a border and icon?
