Items

Half the fun of a match is buying items to beef up your champion. The shopkeeper has a bunch of new stuff to spend your gold on, and you’ll notice a few things have been sold off for good.

Trinkets

Trinkets are free items that go in their own special slot, separate from the normal six. They provide extra utility and can be upgraded once you hit level nine, giving them bonus attributes.

Warding Totem generates yellow wards, which last a minute. You can upgrade this trinket to produce Signt (green) wards, which last three minutes, or Vision (pink) wards, which reveal invisible units.

Scrying Orb reveals a small location within a certain range for a short period of time. When upgraded, the casting range increases and a visible ward is placed as well, which lasts a minute.

Sweeping Lens reveals and disables all invisible traps and wards in a small area for a short period of time. When upgraded, the area revealed is expanded and the champion can detect invisible units for a short time.

Boots

Boots now have tier 3 upgrades!

Limited to 1 of each enchantment type.
Enchant boots to have Furor bonus.

UNIQUE Passive - Furor: Upon dealing damage with a single target spell or attack (on hit), grants +12% Movement Speed that decays over 2 seconds.

Limited to 1 of each enchantment type.
Enchant boots to have Alacrity bonus.

UNIQUE Passive - Alacrity: +20 Movement Speed

(Unique Passives with the same name don't stack.)

Limited to 1 of each enchantment type.
Enchant boots to have Homeguard bonus.

UNIQUE Passive - Homeguard: Visiting the shop vastly increases Health and Mana Regeneration and grants 200% bonus Movement Speed that decays over 8 seconds. Bonus Movement Speed and regeneration are disabled for 6 seconds upon dealing or taking damage.

Enchant boots to have Distortion bonus.

UNIQUE Passive - Distortion: Teleport, Flash, and Ghost summoner spell cooldowns are reduced by 20% and are granted additional mobility:

Grants 40% Movement Speed from 27%.
20% Movement Speed bonus for 1 second after cast.
30% Movement Speed bonus for 3 seconds after use.

Elixirs

Many of League’s original potions have been replaced with a new set called elixirs:

Level 9 required to purchase

Click to Consume: Grants 25% increased Size, Slow Resistance, Tenacity and for 3 minutes.

Moving leaves a path behind that boosts allied champion's Movement Speed by 15%.

(Only one Flask effect may be active at a time.)

Level 9 required to purchase

Click to Consume: Grants +250 Health, 15% Bonus Damage to Towers and for 3 minutes.

Nearby minions gain 15% Bonus Damage to Towers and gain Movement Speed based on champion's Movement Speed.

(Only one Flask effect may be active at a time.)

Level 9 required to purchase

Click to Consume: Grants +40 Ability Power, 15 bonus Mana Regen per 5 seconds and for 3 minutes.

Damaging a champion or turret deals 25 bonus True Damage. This effect has a 5 second cooldown versus champions but no cooldown versus turrets.

(Only one Flask effect may be active at a time.)

Level 9 required to purchase

Click to Consume: Grants +25 Attack Damage and for 3 minutes.

Dealing physical damage to champions heals for 10% of the damage dealt. Scoring a Kill or Assist extends the duration of this Flask by 30 seconds.

UNIQUE Passive - Valor's Reward: Upon leveling up, restores 150 Health and 200 Mana over 8 seconds.

UNIQUE Active: Grants +60% Movement Speed to nearby allies when moving towards enemies or enemy turrets for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds, a shockwave is emitted, slowing nearby enemy champion Movement Speed by 80% for 1 second(s) (90 second cooldown).

This effect may be reactivated early to instantly release the shockwave.

+50% Base Health Regen

+40 Armor
+100% Base Health Regen

UNIQUE Passive - Point Runner: Builds up to +30% Movement Speed over 2 seconds while near turrets (including fallen turrets).

+60 Armor
+60 Magic Resist
+100% Base Health Regen

UNIQUE Passive - Point Runner: Builds up to +30% Movement Speed over 2 seconds while near turrets or Void Gates (including fallen turrets).

UNIQUE Active: Spawns a Void Gate at target location for 150 seconds. Every 4 seconds the gate makes a Voidspawn that travels down the nearest lane and decays over time. Voidspawn explodes when attacking structures. Voidspawn ignore champions and void targets (150 second cooldown).

The first and every fourth Voidspawn gain 100% of Armor and Magic Resist as damage.

+100 Ability Power
+10% Movement Speed

UNIQUE Passive: Gain charges upon moving or casting. At 100 charges, the next spell hit expends all charges to deal 100 (+10% AP) bonus magic damage to up to 4 targets on hit.

+300 Health

UNIQUE Passive - Immolate: Deals 5 (+1 per champion level) magic damage per second to nearby enemies. Deals 50% bonus damage to minions and monsters.

+3 Ability Power per level

UNIQUE Passive - Progress: This item can be upgraded three times to enhance Viktor's basic abilities.

+400 Health
+40 Attack Damage
+20% Cooldown Reduction

UNIQUE Passive: Dealing physical damage to an enemy champion Cleaves them, reducing their Armor by 5% for 6 seconds (stacks up to 6 times, up to 30%).

UNIQUE Passive - Rage: Dealing physical damage grants 20 movement speed for 2 seconds. Assists on Cleaved enemy champions or kills on any unit grant 60 movement speed for 2 seconds instead. This Movement Speed is halved for ranged champions.

UNIQUE Active - Conduit: Bind to target ally (60 second cooldown).

UNIQUE Passive: When within 1000 units of each other, you and your ally generate Charges. Attacking or casting spells generates extra Charges. At 100 Charges, causing damage consumes them, increasing your and your ally's Ability Power by 20% and Critical Strike Chance by 50% for 8 seconds.

Removed Items

Items you won’t see anymore include:

UNIQUE Active: Deals 15% of target champion's maximum Health in magic damage and increases all subsequent magic damage taken by the target by 20% for 4 seconds (90 second cooldown).

+45% Attack Speed

Passive: This item does not grant any Attack Speed while on cooldown. Champion kills reduce the current cooldown by 50%.

UNIQUE Active: Grants +100% Attack Speed and 100% Critical Strike Chance for 3 seconds or 3 critical strikes (60 second cooldown).

+25 Attack Damage
+20% Critical Strike Chance

UNIQUE Passive: Basic attacks inflict Grievous Wounds on enemy champions for 1.5 seconds on hit.

(Grievous Wounds reduces healing and regeneration by 50%.)

+45 Armor
+15% Critical Strike Chance

UNIQUE Passive: Grants bonus Attack Damage equal to 1.5% of maximum Health.

Jungle Items

There are now jungle specific items added to aid our friendly neighborhood gankers!

Hunter’s Machete can only be purchased if you have Smite, and it has two tiers of upgrades.

+15 Bonus Gold per Large Monster Kill

Passive - Jungler: Deal 30 magic damage on hit to monsters over 2 seconds and gain 7 Health and 4 Mana per second while under attack from neutral monsters.

Limited to 1 Jungle item

Initial Upgrades:

+30 Bonus Gold per Large Monster Kill

Passive - Challenging Smite: Smite can be cast on enemy champions, marking them for 4 seconds. While marked, basic attacks deal true damage over 3 seconds, you have vision of them, and their damage to you is reduced by 20%.

Passive - Jungler: Deal 45 additional magic damage to monsters over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second while under attack from neutral monsters.

Limited to 1 Jungle item

+30 Bonus Gold per Large Monster Kill

Passive - Scavenging Smite: When you Smite a large monster in the enemy jungle, you gain half a charge of Smite. If you kill that monster, you gain +20 bonus Gold, and you gain 175% increased Movement Speed decaying over 2 seconds.

Passive - Jungler: Deal 45 additional magic damage to monsters over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second while under attack from neutral monsters.

Limited to 1 Jungle item

+30 Bonus Gold per Large Monster Kill

Passive - Blasting Smite: Smite deals damage in an area, dealing half damage to all monsters and enemy minions near the target and stuns them for 1.5 seconds. Casting Smite on a monster restores 15% of missing Health and Mana.

Passive - Jungler: Deal 45 additional magic damage to monsters over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second while under attack from neutral monsters.

Limited to 1 Jungle item

+30 Bonus Gold per Large Monster Kill

Passive - Chilling Smite: Smite can be cast on enemy champions, dealing reduced true damage and stealing 20% movement speed for 2 seconds.

Passive - Jungler: Deal 45 additional magic damage to monsters over 2 seconds and gain 10 Health Regen and 5 Mana Regen per second while under attack from neutral monsters.

Jungling

As you can tell from the new item sets mentioned above, Jungling is a lot different than it was, thanks to new creatures, buffs, and some changes to Smite.

Smite

Smite has some new behaviors!

Once the new jungle-specific item (Hunter’s Machete) has been bought, players can store two charges of Smite. It has a 15 second cooldown between charges, and can gain even more attributes with the upgrades described above.

Primary Buffs

The two big jungle camps, which grant red buff and blue buff, have been adjusted. Experience granted, buff duration, and elements of the buffs themselves have changed slightly.

Secondary Buffs

Secondary buffs have gone through some big changes!

A new jungle camp, Gromp, is a large, single target frog. His buff will cause anyone who auto-attacks you to be poisoned, taking DoT magic damage.

The Wraiths are now Raptors—still one large creature surrounded by three smaller ones. Their buff provides true vision for a short period of time upon walking into range of a Vision or Sight ward.

The wolves are still wolves—their buff provides a vision lantern for 60 seconds that roams that section of thejungle.

The Krugs (Replacing Golems) give a buff that will stun a monster or minion on your 6th attack.

Dragon

Dragon has been buffed!

Nowadays he only gives gold to the person who killed him, but provides a stacking buff for the entire team, which grants the following bonuses:

First Dragon Kill gives Dragon’s Might: +6% AD and AP
Second Dragon Kill gives Dragon’s Wrath: 15% damage to towers and buildings
Third Dragon Kill gives Dragon’s Flight: 5% movement speed
Fourth Dragon kill gives Dragon’s Dominance: 15% damage to minions and monsters
Fifth Dragon kill give Aspect of the Dragon: Doubles other bonuses and attacks reveal and burn enemies for 150 true damage over 3 seconds. This lasts 180 seconds.

Killing Dragon will send a message to both teams, regardless if one team can’t see it.

Baron

Baron Buff has changed!

Baron buff now grants a variety of bonuses instead of regen:

Bonus AD and AP
Recall time is reduced by half
A successful recall instantly restores a large chunk of mana and grants a short burst of movement speed
All minions move faster and take reduced damage against AoE, DoT, and persistent effects
Minions are temporarily buffed with effects including speed, attack range, damage, defense, and size.

Killing Baron will send a message to both teams, regardless if one team can’t see it.

Visual Updates

A few champions needed a bit of a makeover, so they received texture updates or new splash art and portraits—so if someone looks a bit different than you remembered, that’s why!

Towers

Towers act slightly different now. All towers have had changes in their HP, AD, Armor, MR, and attack speed.

Outer and Inner Towers

The Outer and Inner towers have 30% armor penetration. Attacks from these turrets cannot be dodged and each consecutive turret hit does a bit more damage than the last. When no enemy minions are around to attack them, these turrets gains armor. Fortified turrets block 30 damage from basic attacks, but this effect expires after 7 minutes. These turrets now reveal invisible units within a certain range of the structure.

Inhibitor and Nexus Towers

Inhibitor and Nexus turrets have even more armor penetration and shoot constant beams instead of individual shots, which still cannot be dodged. As the beam hits a champion, it does more damage over time. These turrets also gain armor when minions are not around to attack them and can see invisible units as well.

One of the biggest changes you’ll notice is that the Summoner’s Rift map has been updated! Look around, get acquainted with all the new textures, colors, landscapes, creatures, weather, and more!

HUD Update

We’ve updated the HUD! Much of the on-screen data in-game has been repositioned for clarity and quick visual navigation.
