We’re relaxing gifting restrictions!

You asked for looser restrictions on gifting so we’re relaxing them across the board. From now on, these changes will be in effect on all content and RP gifting.

Content Gifting (skins, champions, rune pages, icons, ward skins, Mystery)

To send a gift, you must be at least level 10 (was level 15)
To receive a gift, you must be at least level 1 (was level 5)
You can only send up to 10 gifts (was 5 gifts) each day
You can receive up to 10 gifts (was 5 gifts) each day
You can’t receive gifts if you’re banned or suspended
The player receiving a gift needs to have been on your buddy list for at least 1 day (was 2 weeks)
The player receiving a Mystery gift must have at least 10 eligible content options (doesn’t apply to icons and ward skins)

RP Gifting

To receive RP, you must be at least level 1 (was level 10)
To send RP, you must be at least level 15 (was level 20)
You can only send up to 5 RP gifts (was 3 RP gifts) every 24 hours
You can only receive up to 5 RP gifts (was 3 RP gifts) every 24 hours
You can’t receive RP if you’re banned or suspended
The player receiving RP needs to have been on your buddy list for at least 1 day (was 2 weeks)

Because it's something that's completely obvious. Pretty much all companies and businesses do what they do to get money, we know Riot does. But that doesn't mean they can't have any other motives/reasons beside it, and that's not what the one asking the question meant. That's why you got lots of down votes. Being conceited also won't get you up votes.

I'll give you an example of the way you sounded:

A person asks "What's up?" You respond by saying "The sky."

Not to mention that you then criticized people for not liking your comment/answer which was like my example above and restated what you already stated. That's how ridiculous you are.

They were stringent to prevent the transfer of RP from an account that was hacked until the person was able to get access back to their account, but the 2-week limit annoyed the vocal majority, so Riot's trying to please them.

Riot has explicitely stated that nobody's going to get punished for a smurf or two. In fact, there's absolutely nothing against having a smurf. The only way we can get punished is by abusing the friend referral program. The reason they relaxed that program was to avoid people botting accounts for RP and skins.

Riot can easily catch people who make smurfs, but why would they? There's nothing wrong with it. Most players have a smurf. I do. Half my friends do. 3/4 of the people on my friends list do. There's nothing wrong with gifting to yourself. In fact, there aren't many reasons aside from mystery gifting as to why you WOULD gift stuff to yourself.

noice!!! hopefully now we can tackle the REAL issue: Losing SO MUCH FLIPPING LP when 1,2 or even 3 teammates DC from a said game in ranked!! i understand that they MAY or may not come back into the game but dammit if it shouldnt be taken into effect that it was a steel-cage, tables-ladders-chairs, no-bars, handicapped League Match cause someone didnt pay the internet bill so I have to lose 15-25 lp that game. Provisionals SHOULD at LEAST be loss forgiven during those times. Its overall discouraging, uncouth, and not fun having to pay for someone else's mistake that we DIDNT choose to be with in the 1st place

they could make it so you get a hard bot instead of a beginner or an intermediate bot. or just a bot that is harder to kill or gank just for kills or even make it so if you kill a bot you only get 1/2 or 1/3 of the gold and xp which would make it pointless to kill the bot just for xp and gold but kill it when you need to. and the person who dc's don't gety any ip for that game unless they rejoing with more than 10 mins of the game remaining, I mean how many times have you seen ppl DC then rejion right at the end with 5 mins to go just to get the ip.

I agree with that, A bot would be better than nothing. If they Reduced the amount of Gold you get for killing said bot. Or just increased its difficulty? Not entirely sure how all that would work out but, yeah sounds like a cool Idea.

WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO GIFT CHAMPS WITH IP PLEASE. I have a growing amount of ip and it just keeps getting larger in between champion releases. I have all the runes i need for the time being i own everyone, and i would just absolutely dig it if i could gift my friends some champions.

I wanna add to this. Let us be able to set up to where we link our smurf to our account and are able to gift it champs with IP. It would work for Riot and Those who smurf with tons of points. And it would work for Riot cause of those who smurf and are not nice.

Riot would never support this because you are technically not supposed to HAVE a smurf account, but people do, and they don't generally care if you do. No one tries to find them, but they aren't going to officially support them.

"The Player receiving a Mystery gift must have at least 10 eligible content options".

This rule is great for curbing people from making smurf accounts, only buying champs that have a lot of uncommon "no longer available" skins, getting all those rare skins through mystery gifting and then selling that account on ebay for a profit. BUT... kinda screws over people that own all the champions and have less than 10 skins left to obtain.

Sure this probably only applies to a VERY tiny handful of people, but these people are your BIGGEST supporters and at the end of the day help keep your lights on. Don't penalize them because others take advantage of the system.

I've brought this up to Riot before, and they haven't provided any solution other than to speak up in the forums and try to get support. I doubt I will get any (I can hear the "First world problem" comments coming).

Regardless... here I am, and this is my concern.

No, that's the same problem as the smurfs, cause you could have all the skins for the champions you own except for the 3 ultimates and maybe a couple legendaries, and then guarantee yourself getting high-valued gifts.

But you still have spent hundreds of dollars on all the other skins, no matter what. And lets be honest, someone who owns nearly every skin in the store, probably buys ultimate skins before most other players. I am one of those small percentage of people that own all the champs and all but 10 skins....You know, I didnt even get a mystery gift from riot when they gave out the good behaviour awards.

Makes me feel less valued because I spent too much money on the game. :/

"Waste" implies you bought something you didn't think was worth it, or didn't use it enough after you did.

The solution isn't for them to lower prices, it's for you to not buy things you don't want. You can also wait for sales.

Actually, having Riot able to make a good profit benefits the players more than having cheap content. Riot pays the salaries of all the LCS players and pours all this money they make into the competitive scene and into making the game better with cool content, which ensures the game survives, and benefits us all way more than saving a couple bucks each.
