Will you ever implement two-step verification for League accounts?

We are currently implementing a series of account protection feature updates to the player accounts system which will be rolling out over the next year. One of these planned features is a two-step verification for logins. So while we don’t have a hard date to offer, we did want to confirm that this is in the works.

What is the size of the servers that allow us all to play?

About the size of a pizza box. Really! It’s a common server industry term to call a server a pizza box. Despite popular belief, we don’t have a single server powered by a hamster driven by a diet of Surge. Instead, we have a fleet of servers globally that provide resources for everything from how you interact with queuing into the game to the game itself.

While I can’t give specific numbers of how many games are run in a single server, I will say that each server hosts simultaneous games for many players. Any given server is capable of hosting games in the triple-digits. And any given data center can host hundreds of servers depending on the region. What you end up with are racks and racks of servers all dedicated to people playing League of Legends all over the world.

Still waiting to hear about how you'll deal with rune IP/RP compensation. I just hope it isn't anything like how you brought back Limited Edition skins -- you left us hanging and promised more compensation but never delivered... years later we're still waiting.

Aww jkjk. It's just in the past that's the way it panned out in some cases (remember dominion, or the urf spatula, or the duck, or the frog icons).

I know. My current icon is from the "Limited Edition skins" coming back. I had EVERY SINGLE LIMITED EDITION SKIN and I got an icon that someone who just had the Championship Riven skin also got. Doesn't seem fair, but that's what Riot has done despite them (Hippalus and Tryndamere) saying we'd get better compensation years ago.

Can we get more servers closer to the west coast? That's it, that's my question lol. My ping has never been the same since you moved the current ones to the middle of the country. I want my 40ms back, and not the 100ms + that pops up in the game all the time. :/

~~Preseason happens before the next year. Worlds will end, then preseason will start, all during 2017.~~ Or maybe that's not how they name them. I'm probably wrong.

They have an entire "Pre-Season 2017" section from 7 months ago. So they definitely mean 2018.

Would this occur for each login from a new device (i.e. email) or each individual login (i.e. phone confirmation)?

Riot, why do so many of the new runes feel so gimmicky and situational? Can we get some that are a bit more useful and reliable, instead of "do this one thing in this one way and you get a tiny reward". I thought runes were supposed to be a baseline for champions, not just give them gimmicks and extra situational tools.
