Get Special Xayah and Rakan Icons When They Launch

Riot·Apr 17, 2017·9 votes·82,308 views

Here's a quick heads up that we'll be running a DOUBLE IP WEEKEND from midnight April 21 to 11:59 PM April 23 Pacific time. We've also created two unique summoner icons which will only be unlockable for the first week after the vastayan duo hits the Rift.

Gift of Magic Icon

Unlike other champs, Xayah and Rakan can be gifted using IP between April 19-26! Gift Xayah or Rakan to a friend for just 6300 IP (normally 7800 IP) and unlock an exclusive Summoner Icon for yourself (also works if you gift using RP).

Blazing Feathers Icon

Earn a special summoner icon by bringing Xayah and Rakan together on the Rift. To qualify, play two games as Xayah with Rakan on your team, or as Rakan with Xayah on your team. Any completed normal, ranked, or bot game mode will count (custom games excluded).

NOTE: Both unlockable Summoner Icons can only be earned between 8:00 am April 19 and 11:59 pm April 26 Pacific time. The icons will be granted within two weeks after the promotion ends.

Oh wow, this is awesome! I was kind of hoping an IP discount for them since it'll be hard for new players to afford both of them (personally I have both the IP and champion shards for it), but being able to gift them is a really cool thing to do.

If any of you have a ton of IP, gift your newer friends these!

One of my friends literally has somewhere among hundreds of thousands of IP.

He has every single T3 rune at max purchasable amount, all champions, and max number of rune pages.

He said he was willing to gift both without even a second thought because he doesn't mind and to his words, "it's for my friend, so why not?"

Feels great.

As a person with at least 171,000 IP, I approve. Looks like I'm gonna play Springtime Santa this week. O:

nextgenpwningApr 19, 201722 votes

You should gift me xayah and i will make funny jokes. like um why does rakan have so many ward quotes because his main job as a support is RAKANassaince haha do i have friends now.

Siren of ResolveApr 19, 20175 votes

...Dammit. You get one too, nextgenpwning.

But no more! That makes 7 randoms on the list. My original post for people ALREADY on my list!

Wow, Rito this is awesome, my friend was literally saying how sad he was that he couldn't buy Xayah, meanwhile, I'm sitting on 24k IP. Thanks!

GreenCyborgDudeApr 18, 201723 votes

That's nice of you gifting your friend xayah. Good for you I just wish I had a friend that could gift me xayah too but most of my friends cant cause they buy runes and stuff.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Can you purchase friends for IP as well?

zaire90Apr 18, 201733 votes

After reading some of these comments I just saw something rare the sugar side of league because im only used to seeing the salt.

IceKacang10Apr 19, 20175 votes

without any label, how do you tell sugar from salt just by looking though? hmm?

SoundquakeApr 18, 201716 votes

I'll just gift it to myself in my smurf account... I has no friends.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I have a buddy that is a Yi one trick, (I resent him for it lul) and he has like 10,000Ip. I gifted him PROJECT: Yi and I plan on gifting him the newest Yi skin as well, this will be the perfect way for him to pay me back. Thanks a million Riot. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Colorful DreamApr 18, 201718 votes

You resent him for one-tricking Yi but you gifted him Yi's legendary? You're a good friend!

Is anyone else unable to purchase Xayah or Rakan for a friend with IP because "Your friend's champion pool is not large enough to receive a mystery gift." I mean it's not a mystery gift and he doesn't have nearly all the champions...

bad game deletedApr 19, 20177 votes

It won't allow me to gift because my friends "gifting pool is not large enough"

You can buy Xayah normally, but as with all new releases, she'll be 7800 IP for the first week. If you have a friend (maybe one who wants to play Rakan), then you can gift each other the champions with IP and it'll be cheaper.

StexeApr 18, 20172 votes

Wow... did not anticipate that. That's awesome. Now if only we could get Chat Rooms and Item Sets and Other AI for Twisted Treeline in the new client...
