Honestly, I'm tired of seeing all these complaints in the comments. "Oh it's not original", "I want the old Yorick back", "Gold is ugly", "Arclight doesn't fit his theme". Please. I don't even play Yorick much and I know how much you guys have wanted a new, high-quality skin, and Riot creates such a masterpiece of golden colors and awesome texture changes, and all I see are complaints. Arclight skins were never released side-by-side like Star Guardian or PROJECT, it's already more original than most. Obviously this doesn't fit his theme, skins are supposed to change it up. Otherwise they would just make skins like "Swordsman Master Yi" or "Archer Ashe". Anyways, I really love how this skin turned out, it was everything I wanted it to be and more.

Also, if you don't like his skin, you don't have to fucking play it. Don't come here and bitch about it. Even though his other skins are pretty old, who really should be the one to give a fuck? They still just look as nice a yorick skin as some of the other skins look on other champs. Give yorick a break.

It's a good looking skin, but it just doesn't feel right to me on Yorick to be perfectly honest, speaking as somebody that plays him all the time. I would have preferred basically anything else, if they wanted to go more opposite of his usual tone or theme a Pool Party Yorick would have been more appealing, or even Crazy Cat Lady Yorick (which Rioters have seen on the boards and looked like they enjoyed).

It's not even necessarily that. It's more that the whole angellic aesthetic doesn't quite work with the feel of his character. Summoning angels from the great beyond isn't quite the same as raising the dead and some of his voice lines sound really out of place when you play with the skin. It's a cool skin, just...not a Yorick skin, yanno?

Nothing has changed. Yorick is in the same state as he was before September 2016. They should revert the "rework" and give the few people who actually cared about him their damn champion back. People, including me, have been heartbroken for over a year now.

For once, the numbers are not on people like you's side. Yorick is the only "reworked" champion who did not see a major increase in playrate. In fact, I see him even less nowadays. If he was as fun as you say, people would actually care about him, but they don't. Look at the comments. Look at how everyone still sees him.

Also, for you to try and compare Rengar to Yorick is absolutely ridiculous, and only proves to me that the only part of a champion you can and will ever enjoy is their kit. Their playstyle, voice, lore, and visuals mean absolutely nothing to you. I suppose it's only natural that you wouldn't be able to understand Old Yorick. Perhaps my expectations were just too high, after being away from the boards for so long. Thank you for bringing me back into reality.

And who the fuck are you to try and tell me who is and isn't fun to play? As for weaknesses, Yorick suffered from the same strengths and weaknesses every other single Juggernaut did. Oh, but you didn't even know that he was a Juggernaut, did you? You probably never will, either, since you'll stay in denial even after reading this response, just like everyone else. You people all act the same- It's so predictable. It's almost as if you're just a bunch of robots created by some guy who wants to watch the world burn. Whatever. I'm done with you. Grieving for the loss of Yorick is a hundred times more productive than writing a message to dirt like you.

Old Yorick was simple as fuck in game and his lore really was not that special, Janna's recent lore/identity change was WAY more significant and fucked up than Yorick's who at least kept his depth. You're freaking out over something that has happened to a lot of other champs and is just part of the nature of the game. Yorick did not fit the game and had to be modernized, since he wasn't played by anyone they decided to change his kit and identity in the process to try to help him, because that is what they need to do as a business. Do you really think that they should just leave a champion in a poor state and allow it to stagnate and place a drain on the game and the company's potential earnings just so an insignificant number of players can continue playing that champion instead of bringing it up to par with the rest of the roster and making it more appealing to a larger percentage of players?

But what about the people who came in after the rework and enjoy playing Yorick as he is now? While I empathize with losing a play style you enjoyed are not saying they should feel the same as you do now? Than again I like Yorick as he is now because he's the version I know. So I might not be the best to judge.

Old Yorick was really only good in One-For-All because he could become an unkillable monster thanks to his passive giving 10% damage reduction and AA damage for each ghoul including his allies' ghouls, and each of his 3 basic abilities created a ghoul. Outside of that he was only good as a surprise jungler or occasionally top laner that nobody knew how to deal with because nobody played him and he was really weird because he was one of the old melee mages that have basically all been reworked into standard tanks like Galio and Mao. His playstyle was run up and press all of your buttons, so it really wasn't engaging or anything, but it was different from other tanks because he was more like a melee burst mage.

Skins are alternate realities that don't have to connect to canon. It's why we get skins that are vastly different than the default themes like Surprise Party Fiddlesticks and Lumberjack Sion.

That's the whole point of Arclight skins, they change the theme of a champion into their counterpart. For example, Vel'koz has a theme of a nasty creature that came from the void, but with his Arclight skin, he is revamped to have a 'holy' theme and look.

lol are you complaining because he didn't get to start a new skin line? He's one of the least played champs in the game, he's lucky to be getting a skin at all since a skin for almost any other champ would make more money for Riot. I'm glad he got a skin at all, and the fact that he got a really good one that is definitely unique (it's the only minion-mancer or melee arclight skin) is just the cherry on top.

He might fit more as an enemy for the Guardians. Void Empowered characters to spread it's darkness, Void Ghouls rising from the ground along with the captured soul a long lost and tortured Star Guardian, their light twisted into a creature that serves the Darkness the fought. Yeah it would not fit Yorick's Character but it would be awesome all the same.

This skin looks cool. TBH my view of skins in League is that they are meant as alternate versions (or costumes and realities) of a champion, or the fully empowered champion (Master Arcanist, Guardian of the Sands etc.) that are just as real or canonical as the classic champion skin. Thats how I view it.
