The Tales of the Kindred Act 1: If I could teach the world to sing Episode 4: In the belly of the beast
(Lamb was sliding down something similar to a water slide. It was slimy and felt strange to her. Suddenly the slide opened up to a large cavern like pit. She landed face down on a solid wooden object. Above her, Wolf quickly shifted into his floating wolf head to avoid landing on Lamb.)
: What just happened?! I don't know. Where are we? (They looked around. It appeared that they were standing on a wooden platform floating on a lake. A lamppost that was still lit was standing in the center of the cavern, its light being the only source of light.)
: Did we die Lamb? Is this the afterlife that we take the souls to? No Wolf, we are death. Death can never die.
: Oh my gosh! Finally someone to talk to! (Lamb readied an arrow to her bow.)
: Who's there? (On top of a small wooden crate floating nearby, Teemo appeared.)
: Ta-da! It's Teemo!
: Of all people here why'd it have to be you?! Wolf, behave. Where are we Teemo?
: You're in Tahm Kench's belly. He ate you.
: Told you something was fishy bout him. Oh hush Wolf.
: So how'd ole Kench get you? Use the old "the world's a river, and I'm it's king" line?
: Yep, and Lamb fell for it bigger than... WE GET IT WOLF! (Silent pause)
: ...well, he got me up in top lane. I went invisible in the lane and was planning to ambush him. Then the minions arrived, and a caster stood next to me. Before I realized it, he lashed his tongue out at the minion, and it grabbed me too. And then chomp chomp.
: What happened to the minion? (Teemo pointed into the lake, where a small floating skull and wand was visible.)
: Yeah, don't go swimming. That's not water in that lake.
: How does Tahm Kench eat some of these things? Like seriously, a whole lamppost? And it looks like we're standing on a table or something.
: You don't know the half of it...
Lamb...I'm hungry. You're floating around in a creature's stomach, and you're hungry?! It's a really unique feeling, I know.
: (Raises a soup bowl) How bout some Scurvy Crab Soup? It's actually not that bad, considering it's been eaten before. (Wolf floated over and lapped up some soup, then shook his head.)
: Ugh, so much citrus in it. (Suddenly, there was a tremor) What was that? I have a bad feeling about this...
(The "water" they were floating on began to fluctuate, and then it began to rush back to the top of the cavern. Lamb, Wolf, and Teemo were swept up in it and began sliding up the slimy tunnel Lamb had fell from earlier. Suddenly, grim daylight greeted Lamb, along with dirt. They all landed with a tumble. Teemo quickly recovered and immediately went invisible. Tahm Kench was doubled over nearby coughing and hacking.)
: YOU ATE US!!
: That's the last time I eat anything with fur! (cough cough) I'm going to cough up a sweater before too long.
: You ate us!
: Look around little miss. Then thank me. (Lamb looked away from Tahm Kench. She immediately recognized the twisted trees and the spectral fog that hovered in the air.)
: The Shadow Isles...
: Yep, I brought you to the Shadow Isles. Now, little miss, I overheard your offer to the sailors of Bilgewater. Time to pay up. (Lamb sighed and focused magic at her hands. A gold medallion appeared in her hands, and she handed it to Tahm Kench.)
: Much appreciated. I'd suggest a bath in your near future. Now that our business is conclu... Something's missing...
: (whispers) Oh no, oh no, oh no...
: Hat, check. Wallet, check. Portrait of the Missus...<3. (stomach rumbles) I'm missing a meal...
(Wolf casually floats over to Teemo and then 'accidentally' bumped him over, breaking his invisibility.)
: Oh god, he sees me! I'm not going back! (Runs swiftly)
: Get back here you appetizer! I can't swim back to Bilgewater on an empty stomach! (starts to chase Teemo)
(Lamb and Wolf wade into the ocean to wash off Tahm Kench's stomach smell. They then looked back at the Shadow Isles, and Lamb put her hand on Wolf's head.)
: Never one... ...without the other.
