Odyssey blasted right by PBE and will crash land directly into patch 8.18. The global release schedule is as follows, across September 11 (Tuesday) and September 12 (Wednesday):

*With bad luck protection in play, gemstones drop at a rate of 5.4%, and you’ll never go more than 34 “chances” without getting a gemstone. Gemstone and Gemstone Skin drop rates are multiplied by 1.5.

Has anyone gotten to play this mode on the pbe? How hard are the Captain and Onslaught difficulty levels? What I mean is, will they demoralize and crush anyone but the challenger level players, or are they (I hope) challenging without being unkind to casuals like me?

This mode skipped PBE, but my guess is Onslaught will be as challenging as Onlsaught(think it was called that) in the Star Guardian Game mode.

Thanks for the answer, though I hope you don't mind a followup question. I missed Star Guardian as I have been mainly playing Killing Floor 2 and only recently picked up LoL again around the time Versus came out. How does the difficulty compare to something like doom bots?

If you learned the correct strategy and build paths in the onslaught version of star guardian it made the mode alot less hard, I played onslaught for the missions the hardest mission was getting an S, nobody on your team could die more then 2 times, you had to get most of the bonus stuff and you had to kill the boss very fast(the mode itself was not that hard after 10-20 times playing it), in my opinion doom-bots lvl 100 was alot harder because most of it was based on luck and your team picks, TLDR if you learn the correct way to optimize onslaught in the star guardian game was a lot easier, I am guessing its going to be around the same here as well.

Do you know how much work that would take to create 5-8 chromas for his skin. Which is basically 3-in-1. Chromas for Rhaast and Shadow Assassin + basic Kayn. Be happy he finally got something good. It's honestly better than a set of chromas, otherwise it would have been a 1350 skin + chromas.[sg-ahri-2]

Because it's an exclusive reward for playing the game mode. Legacy only means it's stuffed in the Vault. Unless this one breaks the mold, it'll still be obtainable, albeit rarely, from Hextech chests.

Are mission tokens ONLY available via missions this time? I don't see mention of store availability. If this is the case, I'm only counting 100 of them, and that doesn't give a lot of room for flexibility if you're buying the border/icon set.

You can't; they're a package deal. If you craft the icon and don't want the border, you should contact support and they might be able to remove it for you! You're still "paying" tokens for the birder though, which sucks. Which one were you looking to craft?

I don't mind the price, I really just don't want the borders. I think they kinda mess up the card's art. I'm writting a support ticket right now to ask if they'll remove it if I get it. I really want the Jinx icon, but if support can't remove the border I'll just have to skip it.

Well, look at it this way, everyone's going to have the same missions at some point, so you'll basically have to get lucky in matchmaking, but there's always a chance your teammates need the same mission you do

Hopefully, but for the Star Guardian event you couldn't complete with Rando's and had to be in a 5 man for many of the specialty missions to get credit, which wound up killing it for me simply because my schedule doesn't let me grind with a bunch of other people very often. This looks to be about the same unfortunately, unless they're going to let us complete with rando's but they were opposed to it last time.

The way the missions and the game mode have been made, it really doesnt fit with how the lobby is made. If you want to do a certain mission and someone else doesn't you'r fucked and get the same penalty as other mode (dodging, same wait timer, reports, etc.) Riot should have thought about it, it's not like in rift's missions!!

I'm sure people will like this because it's different than than the norm, but if it weren't for the missions with rewards I would never play this. This does not have an "I've accomplished something!" aspect. We play against real people everyday then you throw bots at us. I did not learn anything by playing these bots. I get augments and a different experience but it does not add to the normal game in anyway. Coincidentally, it was the same for the star guardian events too. This is just my opinion.

You cannot buy the Ziggs border; it's available through a mission. The very same mission also gives a Skin shard for the skin, so if you want the border, I'd recommend saving your money since you can get the skin for free that way!
