League of Legends Live

Soaring scores and victorious anthems are an integral part of the League of the Legends universe, and we're bringing them to China to celebrate the 2017 World Championship. League of Legends Live is a concert experience featuring international artists and League of Legends community musicians taking place on the eve of the 2017 World Championship Finals. The event will be broadcast live from the Beijing National Aquatics Center (Water Cube) on November 3 @ 7:30 PM local time in Beijing (GMT+8) / November 3 at 4:30 AM PST.

  • and more…

The show will feature performances of a wide variety of music from League of Legends, including Get Jinxed, hits from Pentakill, DJ Sona, Warsongs, Star Guardian, The Curse Of The Sad Mummy, medleys of a wide variety of Worlds and Champion themes, and many other tracks over the course of the 90-minute show.

We expect that the majority of attendees will be local fans and due to limited seating, we will not be offering tickets outside of China, but you can experience League of Legends Live on Lolesports (http://watch.na.lolesports.com) as well as live via Facebook.com/leagueoflegends! If you miss the live broadcast, we will be re-airing on Lolesports several times leading into Finals.

I have so much to comment here. I'm glad that after that underwhelming silly "SUPER SPECIAL EFFECTS" video from the 2015 finals, Riot has decided to go full force with music since last year. These concerts are a thing of wonder. I was hoping for Against the Current to perform the theme song at the Bird's Nest on the day of the Finals in the wake of Imagine Dragons in 2014, but even if they weren't going to do that and there was no live music that day, I'd say the quota was more than fulfilled by this amazing event the night before. I see a Warroirs image up there, but Imagine Dragons is in the middle of their US tour, so I'm not expecting them at the show.

But even then... live music is such a wondrous thing. People playing their instruments, together or as soloists, is some of the most amazing stuff to watch, specially if it's being recorded. Masters at their craft and an amazing display of skill, hard work and talent are just some of the few things that start describing real concerts, with real people playing real instruments.

It's also always great to see Olympic venues being used for events like this, specially seeing the situations of Athens and Rio. It's so important that the infrastructure built for the games has a purpose and a use after the games are gone.

Why even Advertise this if it is gonna be "China only". I get that a china based company just bought out RIOT games, but really is everything now just gonna be for "China only"?
