This is actually a very important question, and I'm surprised they didn't clarify it. In the announcement for the free skin it says:

Any currently available Mystery item purchased between now and the end of the event will count.

but then it says:

These include Mystery Skins, Mystery Chests, Mystery Skin Gifts, Mystery Chest Gifts, and Mystery Champion Gifts.

I'd hate to buy 5 qualifying items and 1 mystery ward and not get the free skin.

CronaBlackBludAug 6, 20157 votes

PLZ RIOT WE NEED CLARIFICATION!!

RiotHollymonsterAug 7, 201512 votes

It does count!

Nekroz of ExodiaAug 8, 20154 votes

so then wait, mystery wards do or don't count toward the buy 6??

RiotHollymonsterAug 11, 20152 votes

Sorry for the late reply! All mystery items were eligible, not only gifted items - so they did count.

Looks like it's time to play Nautilus ... Because I'm gonna be warden.

Malicious LeafAug 6, 20158 votes

Wouldn't that be the Chain Warden? Thresh

Hanz ZimmerAug 6, 20156 votes

Maybe, but Nautilus and Sivir have warden skins.

zackypoohAug 6, 20154 votes

mystery wards but no Fiora item 3070

SprintAug 6, 20154 votes

Tried sending my friend a mystery ward but the option wasn't there.. It lets me unlock a ward skin for a friend but i'd pay 640rp & choose the ward. Is this broken or is it only self mystery gifting?

Daedra arrowAug 6, 20153 votes

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM 0.0 I think maybe we are blind (?) or it's a bug because it say right here :"or gift a friend" riot pls fix this until the 11 item 3070

SprintAug 6, 20153 votes

It's definitely a bug, lots of people don't see the option of gifting a mystery ward.

Daedra arrowAug 6, 20152 votes

Ah, do you know if they'll eventually fix it? Or if they are at least aware of this fact?

SprintAug 6, 20153 votes

Not really, but i did send in a ticket. Hopefully soon.

SerellaAug 6, 20152 votes

Yep, same problem

RiotHollymonsterAug 7, 20152 votes

Unfortunately you can't gift them. The article is in the process of being updated to reflect this.

Daedra arrowAug 6, 20154 votes

Help, I can't find how to sent as gift item 3070 whenever I go to gifting center, I don't have tho option to send a mystery ward skin is that normal? and when I chose unlock a ward skin for a friend, there's no "mystery ward" only the usual 650rp ones HALP I NEED TO SENT ONE TO MY BRO BEFORE HE KILLS ME XD (-lost a bet)

SolnagaAug 6, 20153 votes

Can't get Mother Serpent or Slaughter Fleet as a mystery ward...

SolnagaAug 6, 20152 votes

Not sure why I got downvoted for this but I'm serious, I bought all the other mystery wards last time around.

League of PotatoAug 13, 20151 votes

maybe it's the same idea with skins/champs, if you own too many you won't be able to unlock any, like champs/skins if you own all but like 10 they don't allow the gift

shad0wAug 6, 20152 votes

I can confirm this. I own every single ward skin except these 2 above.

MasterSomethingAug 6, 20153 votes

What the- Jungle Gangplank with Clarity? New meta

Zed is EZAug 6, 20153 votes

How do i gift someone the ward. When i go to gifting option, there is no option for mystery wards.

Forbidden SirenAug 6, 20153 votes

How can I send a mystery ward to my friend? The article says I can send it to a friend but can't find the option to do so in the client's gifting center tab.

SaroneAug 6, 20153 votes

PLEASE RIOT I NEED A REFUND I SPENT MY MONEY ON A WARD SKIN AND NOW THIS COMES OUT?

2UpsetDucksAug 6, 20152 votes

We really should be able to gift these to each other. (also, i have bought 4 of these from when they first came out till now.. i have gotten 3 halloween wards...)

CrestfallenLoLAug 6, 20152 votes

Can someone explain what legacy means exactly? I want the Bat-o-Lantern Ward (Legacy) but it's only a 1/34 chance to get it randomly. I wouldn't mind paying full price but I read that legacy wards won't be available for full-price purchase.

SerellaAug 6, 20152 votes

It says we can purchase these for friends? But in the gifting section there's no option for mystery wards, only specific wards for 640RP.

Fundashi ReiAug 7, 20152 votes

There isn't an option to gift a Mystery Ward, even though it says: "or send a Mystery ward to one of your friends!". Wtf Rito? Yes you can buy a Mystery Ward for yourself, but you can't gift one to a friend, there isn't even an option in the Gifting Center.

Miror BAug 12, 20151 votes

Didn't get one of the Poro wards that I wanted so I could match my mystery avatar, but meh. Candy cane will do. summoner 31

ItHurtsOniichanAug 15, 20151 votes
