Was thinking the same. Questionable defense as an adc

Has Riot ever considered making the currently available skins for the free champion rotation available to try as well? Or for the players that have already unlocked any free champions? This might allow players that already own some of the free champions to try different skins to see if they might want to invest in them.

Be happy to be wrong, but with skins being a primary revenue generator it doesn't make a lot of sense to offer customers the opportunity to change their mind. Personally, SkinSpotlights usually gives me what I want for impression of the skin and if I'd like it.
