Cosplayers, pair up and decide: are you friends or foes?
Runeterra is a world of ancient factions and a cycle of conflict as inevitable as the sun’s daily ascension ritual. When rivals abound, it’s important to have friends and allies fighting at your side, watching your flank, and helping shift the tide of battle in your favour.
For the next cosplay roundup, we want to see you bring champion relationships to life, either in friendship or faceoff. Maybe it’s Azir confronting his once-trusted advisor Xerath over his betrayal. Or Ashe and Tryndamere sharing a meaningful gaze seconds before they charge into battle.
The goal is to create candid looking photos that look like they could be stills from a League of Legends movie – try to bring the champion’s personality to life in your pose and the way you interact with your fellow cosplayer(s) in the shot. Whether you choose to cosplay a scene featuring friends or foes (or both!), we can’t wait to see your group portraits!
Submission Rules:
- We are accepting cosplays of all League of Legends champions, including all official and fan-made skins. Costumes based on original designs should be submitted with reference artwork.
- Your photo must have a minimum of two people portraying one of the two themes of this round-up: a fight, or a friendship. The pose should look natural, like it’s a still from a live-action movie.
- Your costume does not have to be newly made for this competition, however you must have made the majority of your costume yourself or with help from friends/family. Costumes purchased from online cosplay shops are not accepted.
- You must submit a photograph of a person wearing your full costume (it doesn’t have to be yourself if you’re feeling shy). We are not accepting photos of costumes on mannequins, photos of League of Legends themed make-up or fan art.
- Entries will be judged on the following criteria: costume accuracy, costume construction, and effort put into capturing the essence of the character in the photo. PhotoShop editing is allowed for minor retouching and special effects, however please avoid creating purely digital costumes or fabricating entire backgrounds.
- You can submit up to three photos of you wearing your costume. We're only taking submissions formatted in .jpg or .png; the maximum file size is 5MB and minimum dimensions are 600 x 600px (but the larger, the better!) Any of these three photos may appear on leagueoflegends.com or on associated Riot Games twitter accounts.
- You must submit an additional (fourth) photograph to prove the costume belongs to you. A photo of your summoner name written on a piece of paper next to parts of your costume on a desk will suffice. This photo will not be published and is only used to verify entries.
- Finally, your submission must abide by our TOU, so keep in mind your photo can’t include any logos, advertisements, product names or product placements. Also make sure your picture is appropriate for players of all ages: League is rated Teen, so nothing too sexy or grotesque!
Submit your photos here before the deadline of the 14th of June, 2015 at 11:59 GMT. Afterwards, we’ll pick our favourites and open a gallery for you to view all of the amazing submissions.
