It was created back in the day when a simple model modification was grounds for an 1820 price tag. Magnificent TF and Annie in Wonderland are also skins that are from this era.

Yeah but the only problem with that is that piltover blitzcrank was also 1820 on release, but now he's 1350.

Yet some of the other 1820s that are the same quality as him stay 1850 and it makes little to no sense.

That's why those older, sub par skins are retired. They know they're in a weird spot which is why they've kind of been ignored.

They've had solid consistency for years now though, so it's not like it's a trend that's continued.

Because it was originally advertised as "Limited Edition" and would never come back. Also, it was a completely new model which was considered Legendary (or close to it). I remember them justifying the cost as a combination of the two.

And then they brought it back so... =/

Totally agree i am angry as **** right now. I didnt mind when u could find a random shard and make a legacy skin, it was a cool reward for people who play a lot or get lucky. This is BULL selling they skins i paid full price for limited time only for 520RP. There goes the last of the special skins i had few others could pull off.

You bought them back when they first came out back in 2010? Because that is when they said it would never come back. Every other time they said it would come back at least once a year.

Is this the first time these skins are coming back? I thought that these skins were a one time thing, or do they come back for winter games?

In a previous Riot post they said all Legacy skins will come back for a limited period for specific realworld events. Say, halloween for example there will be some skins back for that time period.

These were originally a "one time thing" but Riot went back on that promise a few years ago deciding to reclassify them as Legacy skins. They gave original owners their RP back, a nearly invisible loading border, and an icon (no matter how many skins they brought back and the one I'm using now).

But ultimately it was kind of a kick in the face to the original purchasers since most of us only bought them because they promised they would never come back... =/

Is it really? They aren't even that good when you look at the 100s of skins that have come out since then. There are things that are far better, so even if they were something considered "special" is it really that great when their quality isn't something special?

I was fine with them not being the best skins because they were rare and exclusive. That offsets their lower quality. But now with that rarity gone the skins are pretty much pointless in my eyes.

No. Because I still gave Riot money. They "returned" the RP, but not the money. Thus my money was still spent. They also didn't account for inflation.
