grarrrg1 votesMostly what he said. It does depend on how much money you have to burn, and on how often you play (the 150ip "first win/day" bonus can add up fairly quick). Generally, I would avoid spending RP on Champs that sell for less than 880rp. And would definitely wait for a sale on the ones that cost 880 or more. Also, Alistar, Garen, and Tristana can be gotten for free through various means, so whatever you do, don't spend ANYTHING on them.

Limmie3 votesYou can get Garen + the Dreadknight skin for free with the Twitter promotion. Tristana (+Rocketgirl) with the Facebook one and Alistar + Unchained with the Youtube one. So those 3 champions should never be bought, neither with IP let alone with RP.
