Mark your calendars! On July 17 and 18 we’re celebrating the release of Teamfight Tactics ranked with the first-ever official TFT tournament. We’re inviting 64 Twitch streamers to battle for bragging rights and a piece of a $125,000 prize pool over the course of two days.

Day one will feature two groups, each with 32 players. Group one will start at 9 AM PST and group two will start at 1:45 PM PST. Day two will be a cut to the top 16 players competing for the TFT Twitch Rivals championship title.

We’ll announce the full roster and complete format breakdown July 8. Watch the event on Twitch’s Rivals channel, or on the streamers’ personal channels. For more information, check out rivals.twitch.tv.

Oh does that mean we'll get an area for patch notes and so form of normalized items before then so they it isn't decided by RNG alone? xD Really love the mode though but man is it frustrating to get 0 items some first creep waves when other teams have 2 completed items.

Does this mean Ranked goes live on the 17th, or that's simply when it'll be "celebrated"? When does it go live if not?

I love this game mode, it is so much fun getting a good team together and kicking ass. but not very fun because some SOB got lucky on the mob waves and has like 5 completed items while I have 1. My team had better synergy but raw item power more than made up for it. There is a way to overcome and work the randomness of the champ cards. There is no real way to overcome the item difference. I personally Would love to see some kind of System that took some of the RNG away from the items. A shop like in normal league seems like the best way to overcome this. Then if items are to OP you can just nerf them or a champ as we go on like in normal league. Dont let RNG be the main factor for winning matchs in a game mode named after chess lol.

Sure hope theres gonna be an Item Hotfix before they release ranked, or this is going to turn into another URF/ARAM style game mode instead of something competitive, which will cause it to quickly fade away. Not that it isnt fun, its just in desperate need of item balance before they can turn it into the ranked game they want it to be.

Might I propose an 'engineer' synergy that causes other engineers to double cast? (Such champs could be heimerdinger, viktor, ziggs, ekko, rumble--wow, a lot of the sciency types are yordles, aren't they?)

What about high ranking non-streamer players? Seems odd that everything tends to revolve around streamers nowadays.
