Pretty sure Riot made that on purpose, those champions tie together in so many ways, they both come from the ethereal world, their kits synergize extremely well with each other, and all of their skins (other than the deep terror thresh or wtv the fuck that one's called) fit perfectly with each other.

Honestly I'm surprised they didn't do Championship Azir and Victorious Kalista. Victorious has J4 (toplane) Janna (support) Elise (jungle) Morg (originally midlane) so kalista would've filled out the ranks nicely

Well if I remember correctly, Victorious is reserved for champions who have a large impact on the season in pro play. Hence why I think Azir deserves the title. Or Tristana, though I don't think they'd do two adc's for these skins in one season

I think Kalista does earns her championship skin, however I find it resembles her base skin too much in the manner of colour. The difference between her base green/turquoise to blue is very slight. Granted there are other changes, I find it too similar.

Didn't you just state you weren't going to monetize the Championship skins (You meant the past ones). But now Riot is selling the thresh Championship skin as an add-on to the toy and this seasons skin is purchased not rewarded?

Because the skins you get from getting gold are called Victorious Skins. This is a Championship skin. Championship skins have never been a reward for getting gold, they've always been sold.
