Rare icons available for a limited time

Riot·May 17, 2017·6 votes·81,315 views

Hey!

Look at this great duck! Quack quack!

Just look at him! And this frog!

Oh my gosh! What a little guy! Ribbit ribbit!

The Rift Duck (pictured first) and the Rift Frog (that’s the one in the bottom picture) have journeyed around the world, finding the Sakura & Sakura Poro Icons:

The Soy Lolero Icon:

And even the Astronaut Teemo and Bardnik Icons:

And will be bringing themselves and all of these other previously-regionally-exclusive icons to the League store, available for purchase on all regions from 5/18/17 at 11:00 PT until 6/1/17 at 23:59 PT for 250 RP each. They’re also going to be enabling Mystery Icon Gifting and Mystery Icon Self Gifting during that time! Thanks, Rift Duck (the one on his back) and Rift Frog (the one looking at us)!

Thanks, Rift Duck (the one on his back) and Rift Frog (the one looking at us)!

Guys, they did it on purpose.

RiotSlimeTime2K18May 18, 20178 votes

"Look at this great duck! Quack quack!"

Then it shows a picture of a frog?

FragmentedGlassMay 18, 20173 votes

In the post, it seems like the order of the icons are wrong. It seems like it should be the duck first, as that is what you mention first.

Valor BotMay 18, 20173 votes

ok you got me good +1

THE DUCK AND FROG ARE IN THE WRONG SPOT

RiotBilbyMay 18, 201742 votes

am i being trolled?

PokeobiMay 18, 20172 votes

they are literally in the wrong spots according to the descriptions.

AmbientPanicMay 18, 20173 votes

The icons are switched in the description. The frog is first, not the duck. ^^

JadeFreyMay 18, 201726 votes

ZantorOct 1, 20172 votes

After 5 months of careful analyzing, I've come to the conclusion that they are indeed in the right spot. Well played Rito.

thanks for the catch!

My life as a member of the dukk club has been leading up to this moment

Knìfe CatMay 18, 20174 votes

To those saying "The duck and the frog are in the wrong spots" must've not read the ending of this post, which says "Thanks, Rift Duck (the one on his back) and Rift Frog (the one looking at us)!" As you can see in the icons, the frog (rift duck) is on his back, and the duck (rift frog) is looking at "us" in the icon.

remaMay 18, 20174 votes

No offense to Riot or anything, but do you think we could have more icons enabled for IP? I feel like theres not really anything available for IP aside from Champs/Runes at this point. Let us buy more icons for IP or just give more IP rewards please. [slayer-jinx-wink]

The DreamwalkerMay 19, 20174 votes

I don't get the joke.

Azules500May 25, 20172 votes

From what I heard, the PBE swapped the two icons (frog and duck) back in 2015*, to where the Frog icon had the name "Rift Duck" and vice versa: http://imgur.com/BMqivRA.

Rift Duck and Rift Frog brought to you by NA Production.

Violet RavenMay 18, 20174 votes

You have been memed my friend

RiƒleMay 18, 20173 votes

Can you get these from hextech after they are offsale?

KouriiMay 19, 20172 votes

You can get any icon which isn't "limited" or "esports" from Hextech crafting. This means, no old ranked icons, no super old holiday icons, no beta icons, no team icons, etc.

SarutobiMay 18, 20173 votes

I just wanted to say thank you. I know as someone who has been on the boards, i know a lot of people have been asking for these Icons. I personally have been wanting the Duck and Sakura Poro. Again thanks I'm sure a lot of us appreciate it to finally have it come out in NA servers!

RiotBilbyMay 18, 201710 votes

no. thank YOU

RiotNuslifulMay 18, 20176 votes

KaydoMay 18, 20172 votes

Why did you remove this article? It's no longer showing in the news feed

Morning RavenMay 18, 20172 votes

I'd like a way to organize the summoner icons. So I can put all the lore locations together and the came-with-various-skins together.

FrogMyLoadMay 18, 20172 votes

Frogs for life baby! FROG!

FrogMyLoadMay 18, 20172 votes

Finally! I've been waiting for a froggy icon for years

MyrmironMay 18, 20172 votes

It's the rarest frog.

Looks more like a duck to me.

KazuJun 4, 20172 votes

Any dates for when they come back or will I have to rely on RNGesus to give it to me? I was really busy for the past 2 months and I just got back on but it's right after the the sakura icons get taken off ;u;
