The second Teamfight Tactics beta pass is coming! For the next eight weeks, you’ll earn icons, emotes, and arena chromas by completing missions and playing TFT.

Here's how it works:

Timing: You can start earning beta pass XP in patch 9.16 in all regions. The pass ends with the start of patch 9.20.

Rewards and XP: By leveling up your pass you'll be able to unlock six icons, three map chromas, and four emotes. There’s 9280 XP available to earn over the course of eight weeks, and it’ll cost 6800 XP to unlock all of the rewards.

Orb of Enlightenment: We reworked the Orb of Enlightenment to reward you for playing multiple games. You'll receive 70 XP just for logging in, and 10 additional XP for each of your next five games. Not including the missions you complete, you can earn 120 XP every day by logging in and finishing five games.

Missions: Every week, you'll get six missions that you can complete to earn XP. Two will be relatively easy and should be completable in one session. Two will be based on completing a certain number of games. The last two will be more difficult, requiring you to complete something challenging or stretch your understanding of rules or strategy within Teamfight Tactics. Three missions will be active at any given time, and once one is completed another will automatically take its place. Missions rotate every week around the same time that a patch would drop.

In LoL we can unlock skins from HexTech Crafting (lootboxes) and from direct purchases. But in TFT we can only use lootboxes. If you think a little legend has a retail value of $50, that's fine, just let me pay the $50 in RP to obtain it! I want to support you Riot, but I don't want to promote Tencent in their exploitative gambling practices when it's the sole option for us. We expect more from you.

The beta pass is a great feature and it's a step in the right direction, but that doesn't justify the other predatory behavior you're condoning.

TT will come back with event pass someday. So will NexusBlitz. Soon to log into the game you will need an event pass too.

I hate to say it but loot boxes are just simply profitable. The truth is the number of times people like you and me spend $50 on a little legend is smaller than the amount one person is willing to spend on the chance at a better little legend. This marketing sucks for most people, but unfortunately it works. Edit: the reason I'm saying this is that while people continue to spend on lootboxes, companies will continue to provide

The game is completely free for EVERYone and has no microtransactions that affect gameplay.

They need to make money somehow to pay the employees that makes this wonderful free game possible.

The only thing that's predatory are people who take advantage of this game and still complain that small things like this isn't free.

OMG, a game is FREE to play and the "loot box" mechanic is for something that has ZERO effect on game play.

If you greed for a particular graphic that is not free, then pay for it. If you are willing to play the original little ghost, then there is nothing to complain about.

That's not the point. The point is that you could spend $200+ and still not get the skin you'd like. Because it's completely random, borderline on gambling. The point is that the little legends should be a set amount, like skins are in the base game. Greed is what's wrong with Riot, not players who want a skin/LL

This. I want a level 2 Hushtail so bad, but I can't pay the amount of rng you're asking for Riot. I'd willingly pay 490rp for a Little Legend if you could choose them. Even though that number is EXTREMELY predatory (leaves you with 400rp from a $10 pack) it's worth it if you could choose the little legend. But tagging Rng into the equation is scummy af.

And I mostly expected you to give us a selector Little Legend egg in the beta pass to compensate. But ig Tencent is too greedy to let that happen huh?

Edit: I mean, even if you could choose the specific Legend you want a random variation of would be better than this. If I just want Hushtail, I don't want to have to rng my way through Protector and Paddlemar too. Its like if Hextech Chests were the only way to get league skins. It's shit.

You say youd willlingly pay 490rp to choose a little legend as if thats a good deal for riot. Id say a fair price would be 975 rp for basic 1350rp for epic and 1820 rp for legendary. And about 390 more for each star

i don't mean a specific color variant. I mean a specific Legend period. As in I'm still rolling for colors between 3 legends, just 1. What you offer means they just sell them like skins, which I'm also fine with, but that's WAY too high for base form. 750rp is the current price for picking the base color to begin with. And that includes an Icon, which is "worth" 250rp. So they themselves price the base Little Legends at 500rp. Though yeah, if you could just pay to upgrade them without spinning the rng wheel that'd be nice.

I was honestly hoping for 1 egg. Like the 3 basic egg with choice of getting one. Im willing to buy an egg for 490rp for a specific series of creature not from 3. The egg system is just predatory.

Give us BE for playing. This is fake XP, it doesnt go towards my actual level, just beta pass. TFT is like the neglected stepbrother to League. You get punished for actually playing RIOT's new game.

Neglected? TFT is getting more of their effort than SR right now. In case you didn't notice, this is called "BETA pass". The mode is still in BETA. And the pass is free. And they rushed out ranked? Neglected? WTF are you talking about?

I wouldn't say it's getting more attention than SR, since SR is getting multiple character reworks plus they are prepping for worlds patch and pre-season.

But TFT is definitely not neglected, so IDK what this guy is talking about.

Why would you earn stuff for League if you play TFT? Why would someone who plays primarily TFT, if not ONLY TFT, want BE? Emotes and Icons can be used in TFT. But BE can't buy anything for TFT.

So what happened to the other Beta Pass V.1 rewards??? Your TFT menu went down for days because of "maintainment", and I couldn't get my Rift Arena skin and the other icons... pretty sad... and I think I'm not the only player who has this problem too!

Any chance of earning honor, albeit just a little bit, would like to keep my honor 5 streak going. Add in a way to report/add friends to the end of the game menu. Add a way to spectate other people"s games.

I’m excited about this, since the rewards ended I found myself not playing tft as much, although ranked tft peaked my interest. More unlocks that are free yay!

We sure the math is correct on this? 120*55 (since you can't claim an orb the first day) is 6600. I am getting at least 500 from the missions this week (think I still can't see one) so that would be a minimum of 10,600 unless the weekly missions are worth different amounts each week.
