Snow Battle ARURF launches

I'm excited even though I've played the entire time it was on PBE. It's sad that this will never be a perma game mode but it's even more sad that it is always going to be "ARURF" instead of plain old URF. URF is the best thing to happen to any game and should at LEAST be a perma custom game mode.

MRURF? "Mostly Random Ultra Rapid Fire"? Each game you're given 3 random champs for you to pick from. At least we'd have somewhat of a choice!

I don't know why, but reading through all the comments about how people dislike ARURF and want old URF back but no one can seemingly solve the problems of people choosing the same champs that are broken in the insanity game mode just made me wonder if something like Nemesis Draft URF would work. Enemy chooses what champs you play and a whole new insanity happens.

Im mostly fine with ARURF but now only snow skins makes it so stupid.

The most fun part about URF is being able to play dumb builds and champions with your friends, like full AP galio or full AD poppy. the fact that we can't pick our champions makes this game mode even less fun, and with the champions being cut (even though it might be a one-time thing), i think URF/ARURF is becoming less and less enjoyable.

at the very least, riot, you guys should make another April Fools joke and bring something fake to the table like "Ranged Only ARURF" and surprise us with regular old URF, which is way better than ARURF and this snowdown ARURF.

either way, looking forward to playing this with my buds, but cmon. bring back URF please.

there's a lot of people demanding to make URF permanent. I wholeheartedly disagree with this: fun is only fun in it's doses, and if we keep a beloved gamemode PERMANENT, it'll make URF way less fun, which is why I think that Riot doesn't want to make a sandbox mode that you can inv people to (aka practice mode/urf mode with friends)

Ya'll saying how fun arurf is gonna be. Ya'll don't realize they cut the roster in half, 'cause there's only x-mas themed skinned champs allowed. There's perma-banned champs deemed too strong on top. So, with this very limited roster, the OP's are found very quickly, and with re-rolls and dodges, it becomes a game lost at champ select.

Not that the pbe had 10 threads a day with the exact same complaint, which was never once responded to.

As many people have said, I think there should be an option to where you can choose "All Random Urf" or "Urf". Some people want to try out their mains, or new champions.

Am I the only one remembering that ARURF was supposed to start today and not tomorrow?

URF is fun but needs the 10 ban system. ARURF is relatively balanced because you cant just spam the op champs. but RNG is dumb because your team might get f*cked in champ select. Snow ARURF is just dumb because I can't play Talon or Wu or Skarner (my favorite champs). So overall, none of this matters because Riot doesn't care and we'll never get URF as a permanent game mode because of "reasons". And if anyone thinks it's because "people will stop playing ranked" cut the crap. I never played ranked in the first place and now I barely play League unless URF is on.

URF was the best mode back then, no question. second probably by one for all and hexakill. The problem with arurf is basically taking away people's choice. if you wanted to play with some "op" champ then it was your choice (or play skarner and destroy the "op" champs). You would think a ban system would be next step to balance (i thought the whole purpose of the game mode was to be unbalanced. just have fun with it). But now its not just there is no more choice about it but also there is limited champs. Sure, you cannot make everyone happy, but at least give the people a choice.

they should add both in and let players dicide between AR and Norm urf

We need URF NOT ARURF please. I'm fine with URF with pick modifications, like you can't pick the same champion twice in lesss than three games, and everyone gets a ban(just like how ranked works atm).

I totally agree with ARURF, the people love it. I love it, but we really want the option for both. the game is amazingly fun and hilarious to play, and being able to pick our favorite champions to play with is still better even with fighting busted champions. and I'd much rather take that bet over hoping our team has better or more played champions then the other teams because it's random, I really think we should get a choice

I've seen it mentioned a few times already, so I'll just echo my sentiments. I would like to see URF become a custom game mode:

In my ideal version, there would be no bans, you can pick the champions your opponents pick, and you can even pick champions that have already been chosen by teammates.

Do you want a five-man Master Yi URF team? That's your choice, have fun with your decision!

The point isn't for URF to be balanced. The point is to let players have as much fun as they desire in an unbalanced sandbox where everyone gets what they want and has their restrictions drastically reduced.

There is one change I'd make to how gold is obtained: All gold earned (except from champion abilities / passives, runes, and item passives) is shared evenly between your participating team. Teammates who have not moved their champion for 4 minutes are considered idle, and gold will not be shared with them. on the third time this happens, gold is not shared with them for the rest of the game.

Gold sharing would encourage the team to cover objectives and participate in takedowns. If a player is outperforming their teammates, their shared wealth helps everyone progress through their builds at the same pace. The exception are players making use of bonus income sources, who will progress faster as a result of those additions.

can we leave it as regular urf next time

A solution to people who don't want AR URF and want old URF back but they don't want to have the same op champions.

Unlock all the champions for the gamemode. Make it so only 3 random champs show-up that the player can chose from. It is still random but players still get the choice and rerolling would still work, it would be so all 3 champions change and new choices appear.

Just an idea that no one will look at. XD

My question is, WHY ISN'T THERE A SINGLE RIOT EMPLOYEE RESPONSE ON THIS WHOLE DAMN THREAD. unlike every other thread i guess they just dont read ones with urf involved.

As many others have complained about in the PBE forums, This mode just saps the fun out of an already bad rendition of URF even more by slashing the available champion pool, so we'll see a lot of repeat matches with the same comps over, and over, and over.

For the love of god Riot, please just give us regular URF back either as a permanent game mode, or something we can do customs with to chill out. Or to at least make ARURF much more tolerable, allow 5 bans for each team THEN give us our random champs.

Also, will we ever see One for All any time soon again? Cause I wouldn't think it would be that difficult to fix the UI errors with it in champ select.

It really sickens me that they destroyed URF which was literally like Christmas in a sense...people would literally wait ALL f-ing year just to play this game mode due to how much fun and joy it brought like 99% of the community. And then they implement all random thinking that it would prevent people from abusing certain champs yet all it did was make it so that NO ONE would EVER get a damn chance to pick ANY of the champs they want to---EVER. Ya...great idea riot ....its literally sickening how much they destroyed such an amazing opportunity to bring people into this game.

IMHO I think its a conspiracy. I think Riot just couldnt accept it (cause theyre big fat ego) that people actually loved the URF mode more than the normal game itself. They probably felt that their ego's were hit hard when they poured their heart and soul into balancing the game yet low and beyhold people wanted to play this silly little "urf" mode more ...

They used to claim the reason for taking down Urf was because certain champs were too broken and anyone who wanted to try out a new champ would get roflstomped ..and so youre telling us the "good idea" you came up with to fix that was to make it so NO ONE gets to pick ANY fcking champ they want ever? Wow that idea must have taken you guys 2 fucking seconds to think of golf clap. Oh wait here's a genius idea ..drum roll---wait for it----why not just make a clicky-click option for URF where when you click the check box near the game mode it turns AR on or Off.....woah holy god damn hell what a SPLENDID idea mind--god damn overblown**. Now EVERYONE gets an option that works for their Urf fandome. Holy f*cking hell.

Anywho...done with my rant. Riot destroyed something that MOST if not damn near all of the community loved ..and they did it in spite of how everyone asked them to return it to the original urf...goes to show you they dont really care.

RIOT PLS!!!! Stop playing the part of the "overlord" who decides what is best for your customers and fanbase. It is pretty clear from an even cursory glance at comments and other feedback that most of us would rather have regular Urf back. Yet you keep ignoring that input with this attitude of "you don't really want that, you want this, we know better than you". It is a temporary game mode for crying out loud! FOR FUN! But you can't just let us have it our way can you?

The first time you did this I thought "This is a cool variation of Urf". I was not expecting it to be the only way we would get urf from that point on. AT THE VERY LEAST DO BOTH AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR. THERE IS NO NEED FOR ONE OR THE OTHER BESIDES THE LIMITATIONS YOU PLACE ON IT

I played a few games of random URF before coming here to comment. It is rather unfortunate that you at riot games take your most beloved game mode rotation (aside from classic rift) and turn it into this bastard child of love; furthering my cause I wish to list a few specifics. ARURF is all random Ultra rapid fire, there is very little balancing done around URF mode as is, when you make the champion select random, you create scenarios that are "ANTI-FUN" what I mean by "ANTI-FUN" is you allow some of the more broken champions to be given to an individual randomly, while others may have a spout of "ANTI-FUN" bad luck. When the other team is getting 6 second window of death tryndamere and you cant move Maokai, your team is getting 5 ADC's. Good Luck, WP. ARAM has something going for it; Aram has the same champions that are balanced for summoners rift and competative play. URF had something amazing going for it too, you could pick whatever broken champs you wanted, instead of spending 15 minutes feeling like you're getting screwed. You can atleast play something you enjoy while you're getting screwed.
