The east coast has been having insanely high ping for how long??? Some have gotten over 200 ping and now because you have 60 its such a big deal? I am a west coast player from Canada and I find the people appalling who are talking about quitting because of the ping. Suck it up and play because this isn't an unfair move, it was the best thing riot could have done for the community and I am grateful for that. I can live with 60 ping... Can you?
MorningRide17 votesAmen to that brother... I'm east coast and went from 120 ping for TWO YEARS to 60 ping and i consider the 60 ping to be a godsend. This is the best ping I've ever had in my entire history of league and i don't understand how anybody could complain about anything above 100. I'm missing skill shots because i'm so used to the lag but it's great because now my aim actually determines whether the skill hits and i don't have to guess half a second ahead of time anymore. To all of those with "high ping" right now on the west coast, i've had higher than that since the beginning of league and this is a very welcome change for my side of the US. Also, your ping is still better than mine was before the new server.

craken7478 votesThat's good for you. I had 60 ping in Los Angeles before the change. Now I have 100-150 and 500ping lag spikes every two minutes. 60-80 ping? What a bliss.
CoupDetate5 votesYou guys should really read the information Riot is kind enough to give out. They said that folks all over the states might still have to deal with fluctuating pings, as well as higher then normal pings, due to the fact that they're still building their dedicated network. Add to that they mentioned the fact that they are still working on some of the major network carriers (Verizon, AT&T, etc) to get them on the same page with the dedicated communication lines for players, and you have..... TADA UNREASONABLE PINGS.... which they predicted WOULD happen (not might, WOULD).

Zair Umbras4 votes60 ping..? I have a 60mb internet line on top of living in California and I used get 30-40 ping. I'm now getting around 80-100 ping. Riot said they expected maybe a 30ish ping increase, but for quite a few, it's a much, much, much bigger jump. I don't know why they don't just have two different servers. EU has an EU West and an EU North East on top of a Russian server. Europe by itself isn't exactly the size of the US let alone covering all of NA.

Phantasm X1 votesI have been playing in Vermont since beta. That is 6 years with a ping over 100, usually 110-120. With the move I am now getting 60ms or less, I would have been happy with 80. I think they made a good choice and I'm sure over the coming months that will show in overall game experience. I guarantee they will not neglect their West Coast customers, and if there are persistent ping issues, they will fix them. The West is one of their biggest customer bases, but think about NYC, Boston, and Florida for example. This is for the greater good, leveling the playing field all around.

TDI Flash8 votesyou know, ive spent hundreds of dollars on this game, and i know tens of thousands of others have too, youre so greedy that you had to MOVE the server rather than just put another one there? thats just wrong, my ping and the ping of so many others went up because of this move because you wouldnt just add another server out there and improve EVERYONES connection

Sardonic Spoon5 votesAs a player who has had a constant 200~ ping throughout the last year, I love Riot. They have lowered my ping by about 140 so now I play at the Average(ish) ping in NA. It's a shame that we all have to be average and that certain players can't get a geological advantage over others anymore though.
And what did they do to the west cost players? Raise it by 40? It is ridiculous that they think that that is fair.

RHC5 votesWhat are we doing to help Hawaii. That's what I want to know. Having 90-110 ping in Hawaii was a norm but you can actually feel the delay now at 120-150 average. Would wtfast potentially cure this ping or should we just deal with it?

iM nyuucookie3 votesI think this is great move I live on the west coast I accually lived 3 hours away from the old server location. I had 10-25 ping depending on the day. I now have 55-67 ping and I'm happy about that to be able to play on even ground now with some of the east coast players that had 100+ ping now its a game where you need at least some skill to outdo your lane opponent if their across the country.

MadHatHacker3 votesIt's too soon to tell if it's actually due to the migration. If it persists for days or weeks, then it's an issue, but right now it could be just a coincidence. There are just too many variables in a network of this scale.

Helloadamo2 votesI live in California and i was fine with the server moving but now that it has happened, i cant even enjoy a game. i use to be at 50 to 60 but now I'm at 130-180 and it jumps frequent. i already have everything at the lowest setting(always did) its just the servers or something. it freezes for a second and i miss a bunch of cs and almost die..not fun at all.. i don't know please help if you can, i guess lol?
