The NACC is back for 2015!

Riot·Sep 22, 2014·4 votes·200,816 views

With college back in full swing, the North American Collegiate Championship (NACC) is ready to kick off its 2014-2015 season!

Last year, the NACC took collegiate competition to the next level: 540 teams from over 300 universities across the U.S. and Canada battled for the championship title and bragging rights as the top collegiate team in NA.

This year, the competition’s even bigger. The season now spans the entire academic year and we’ve split North America into four competitive regions: North, South, East, and West. We’re also making it easier for new players and teams to compete by collaborating with four community partners with a solid history of running League tournaments.

How far will you go? Rally your team, represent your school, rule your region, and rise to the top!

Want to learn more? Hit up the 2015 North American Collegiate Championship FAQ!

Ready to compete? The IvyLoL and CSL qualifiers are open for registration from now through October 16th!

They should do this with high school in each state!!! Anyone else think so??

IVDVSep 22, 201417 votes

Riot doesn't have an official program, but we've been running a HS league within the USA/Canada for years!: http://hsstarleague.com/

KamishaSep 22, 20149 votes

You need to be 17 to play in the official matches there may be some problems with high school since only people in grade 12 would be able to play.

CarrellSep 22, 20144 votes

and 11 some juniors would be able to play but you could teach the younger ones and they could always get better

Pizza SaucesSep 22, 2014194 votes

I dont think many schools would agree to have a video game team though... all my high school cares about is stupid football

MorrivarSep 22, 201488 votes

I'm betting you're from the South like I am. Fucking football is all that matters.

Łego YodaSep 23, 201423 votes

Yeah I have to agree they don't care about anything but Football cuz everyone that plays football are the allstars

PìgletSep 23, 201434 votes

i know... track meets, no people is watching. Soccer, no one is watching but some nice parents. Football, wow, too many people. League? If they have league, a lot people would watch, probably not enough space

Veigar is PurpleSep 23, 201429 votes

Hah, over here knowledge bowl gets more support than our football team. Heimerdinger

MageManiacDudeSep 23, 201415 votes

And here we are, a ton of nerds talking about how much we despise football

Sereg AnfaugSep 23, 20148 votes

Heh. For a moment there, I thought you were comparing football players to Alistar

BrasilNoEnglishSep 24, 20145 votes

I played rugby in Oregon and even still, football is all that matters. Rugby was so much more grueling in my opinion, and I've played both.

Siro43Sep 23, 20147 votes

North Carolina, you play football and eat BBQ you just do, no one knows why, I don't needless to say i was disowned.

ScilotSep 23, 20149 votes

My school only cares about football and basketball. I live in PA and one teacher wanted to make an HSL team, but we could only find 4 players who wanted to actually compete.

slayerx2Sep 23, 201418 votes

but...but.. i play football ):

TSM VoldemortSep 23, 20149 votes

^ go home. no one wants you here

Frozen PlanetSep 23, 201418 votes

Not true. I want him here. There is nothing wrong with playing football, but I wish there would be more support for other sports as well. My high school has won the state championship in multiple sports, but it seems the only one people will watch is football. I wish there was more support for our other athletes as well.

CaptnSaltSep 23, 201423 votes

douchenbagSep 22, 20144 votes

They should make this for Junior High schools too. I'm only in 7th grade and I'm great at this game. I would probably be the champion of the school, because people are so awful at this game. I've been playing for 3 years, probably why I'm as good as I am.

Bro, im in 8th grade, but dont want to let anyone know that i play league, because that is considered nerdy, but i would so love to have a hs program that was kind of secret though.

platonicpitfallSep 23, 201443 votes

Too late, it's on the internet now.

YuckFoCouchSep 23, 20144 votes

i can't promise it for your high school career, but it usually gets more relaxed on the "nerd" shit. i'm a senior and people play runescape in Digital Design and nobody says anything. But yes, I was in the same boat as you in middle school.

LexiluluSep 23, 201414 votes

I'm a Junior Girl, and I tell everyone I Play League because it's super fun. Who gives a shit if people think you are nerdy I told two girls in a grade below me to try it out and they did and love it. I've made so many friends at my school because I did presentations with like Teemo in the background....THEY KNEW WHO SATAN WAS AND IT WAS SO FUNNY! UGHGHYGGYGYUGUY Seriously you don't need to be so self-conscious because once you hit 10th grade you'll realize that you really don't care. But you are young and you mustn't need to worry because you have time to figure things out on your own.

coulda fooled me, that regional map is the worst representation of Canada I've seen in a long time.

Bill68WarhammerSep 22, 20146 votes

Not really, that map of Canada covers 85% of the population, besides how many universities are there in Nunavut? Is there FIOS on Banks Island. Looks like your either in the North or West division to me eh. Map is a bit old but here ya go anyway... http://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2006/as-sa/97-550/vignettes/img/map-2006-pop-density-canada-sz01-en.gif

JunoTheCatSep 23, 201423 votes

maybe he's very excited about making a collage!

RiotShermanSep 22, 201410 votes

Since I have already seen some questions about it, I wanted to address any East coast vs West coast concerns.

We actually took latency issues into account in the design of this years NACC. To mitigate the issue, we have broken NA into 4 regions (North, South, East, and West). Throughout the qualifiers and into the playoffs, west coast teams will only play other west coast teams and east coast teams will only play east coast teams. The same applies to the North and South regions.

Only when we are down to the final four, and we have the best team from each region, are they matched against each other. However, it is at this stage that the teams are flown out to our studio in LA to compete on our tournament servers.

elcoco1Sep 22, 20142 votes

Is it free for each college to participate?

I am asking because for the first time ever, CSL will not be free.

RiotShermanSep 22, 20147 votes

Every qualifier is free, including CSL. While some of CSL's other events do require an entry fee, their League of Legends season is completely free of charge!
