Except they were. Riot even went so far as to say everything AFTER X date would be legacy and other skins like winter olympics and first snowdown were going to stay exclusive. Then they went back on it.

Exclusives died off due to the fact that they were so rare 2% of the community could play them. Riot wants their skins to be used, so they removed many of the Limited Edition skins are gave out Borders, Icons, RP Refunds, ect. Championship Riven is the next one to receive such treatment and others will follow such as Urfwick, Rusty Blitzcrank and more.

Wait those were all exclusives? I don't pay attention to skins, but IDK that championship riven was an exclusive skin. I got pax sivir on my first account (No more password ;c) for pretty obvious reasons, so they're making skins like those buyable? Also just wondering do you know if its possibleto get skins like black alistar and human ryze from hextech?

Yes, Championship Riven is a former Exclusive skin as it was the first in the Championship Line.

Pax skins, Black Ali, Silver Kayle, Urfwick, UFO Corki, Young Ryze (formerly Human Ryze), Rusty Blitz and Riot Squad Signed are all current Limited skins that cannot be gotten from the Mystery Gifts nore Hextech Crafting.

Riot has a said that Pax, Urfwick and Rusty blitz might be available in the future, but never mentioned anything on the rest.

Ok, thanks. I did know about championship riven, but I did some looking and i realised they are doing this for a reason.

There were to many accounts being sold for around 300-1000 pounds due to them having back alistar or urfwick or championship Riven. But the purpose of skins like those are to show who have been in league of legends and suppporting riot for a long time, so they were making some buyable once again to try and end the league skin trade.

Some of that was inferencing but it makes sens eto me, its not like CSGO where they make their profits by taxing people selling weapon skins and making you pay to GET the chests, in lol you can get chests and keys for free, they even put a limit on how many you can buy in one day. Soooo. Yeah i think RIOT is doing this for a good reason.

Yeah there were a lot of those accounts that people would buy for some stupidly high amounts just for a certain skin. So re-releasing the skins does help to kill those sales off. Riot is also doing it to make a lot of these skins more openly available again, since there was 2% of players that had a majority of them and the game has grown massively since their releases.

Legacy skins...rare? LOL. They ALWAYS come back every year. At least once or twice, sometimes more thanks to bundles. They were never meant to be THAT rare to where you'd see them like once every 5-6 years or something.

They didn't at first though. The first few holidays we were getting a small handful of nice new skins and not rehashing the old ones. Then they said everything after X date would be 'legacy' and available to show up again (I believe it was everything sold from the second christmas onward) but the first year's releases were 'limited'. Then they said 'screw it' and made only specific event items limited such as the purchased/preorder games that were 20$ at gamestop and target, or the PAX skins, or RaF rewards.

Legacy skins always came back.

The 34 Limited Edition skins that were released during Harrowing 2010 & 2011, Showdown 2009 & 2010, Winter Games 2010, World Cup 2010 skins were what originally were said to never return but since the game has massively grown and there was like a 2% of players that used them Riot dropped Limited labels and started bringing them back.

Hence why this year we are getting Championship Riven back as well.

Legacy Skins was a category created for skins removed from the shop. Most of them because they were simple recolors or bordered on copyright infringement (which was a concern as the company grew), or the quality was below the then current standard.

When they were removed, rito said they wouldn't be coming back.

Limited Edition is something else, and their return was always tentative. Snowdown* skins "might return," and it's been a tradition of having some, but not all, of event skins return each year.

Legacy skins are any skins that were made available temporarily and then retired to the "Legacy Vault." They may be available for normal purchase again at a later date. However, all Legacy Skins above 520RP are available through Mystery Gifting, and they also have a chance of appearing through Hextech Crafting. These skins only appear in the champion's information tab if you own them.

Limited Edition skins are skins that were temporarily available in the store during seasonal or special events then removed once the event was over. These skins cannot be mystery gifted and only appear in the champion's information tab if you own them.

I feel like we're arguing over my use of the word 'legacy'. I know you're right. What I was referring to was the fact that the first harrowing, snowdown and winter games (didn't realize the world cup was as well) were initially dubbed limited edition (when labeling other skins 'legacy') and then downgraded to legacy status.

I feel your pain. I was one of the few people to own every single one. I'm still waiting for Riot to properly compensate us. Hippalus said they'd do a feedback survey to get our opinions on how they handled it, but they never did. Riot never keeping their promises.

I just wish they had a tiered Limited Edition Summoner Icon (instead of 1 for everyone, since someone who only had 1 skin got the same icon as someone who had all of them). And I wish you had a special emote in game with them (like Champion Mastery). That would make them unique in-game and still cool to own.

Seriously its pretty obvious you lying. The skins you get from buying league when it was in beta or other skin unlockables aren't legacy they're exclusive and no one can ever get one again. IK Cause i had one on my first account, Pax sivir, i wonder how I got that one. (Not very hard to guess.) So for legacy skins you would have to A: Buy them when they'll avaible or B: Get them from a hextech chest

Is anybody else surprised that these aren't bundles yet project blood moon marauder If they existed riot u would make a ton. You could also bundle in icons to make it even more expensive. you do realize they did this at the release of the new project skins right? they had the bundle for the new skins/icons/ward not to mention the bundle containing all the previous project skins. not to mention im pretty sure there was a blood moon bundle during the release of blood moon thresh and elise. there may have been a marauder/warden skin bundle. i think there was, but im not 100% certain
