Halohappy3 votesLogged in to upvote this. This is beyond retarded on Riot's part. There are dozens of other champs in need of updates on their splash arts and they decide to redo one they literally did in the last year or so.

He took priority because, just like Trundle and Tristana, he got a massive visual update and none of his old splash arts were accurate to their actual models. Before this, they hadn't changed his splash arts other than swapping Warmonger for its Chinese equivalent, which was barely different. Edit: also Hextech, which looked awful in both versions.

your blind right? clearly that has to be the case. besides the classic and the skins released after his VU, all the skins splash arts havent been updated. Example is the current in game model for kingpin as an eyepatch over one eye and a scratch over the other with no dumb looking hate.

Colorful Dream4 votesThey would have no reason to. The main reason for updating these 4 splashes is to better represent the in-game model. When Sion got reworked the only splash that got updated was his base skin splash, and then Mecha Zero came out after his rework, but for a long while Warmonger, Hextech, Barbarian, and Lumberjack still had old splashes although their in-game models were updated at the rework. So this current splash update is to just bring all of his splashes up-to-date with his rework.
redfeenix7 votesI like how the artist for hextech sion didnt wanna draw the hextech face because its too complicated, so they just opted to show the normal side of his face. Dunno if lazy or the other half of his face didnt turn out good so they just hid it ;)
NAAAH Jokes aside, these skins are awesome. I like how they show the actual playstyle of Sion, the scary af CHARGING juggernaut. Great work on these splashes guys, really captured the spirit and essence of Sion here.

However one thing that bugs me is Lumberjack Sion. I feel the same way about it that I do about the Swain splash update. In Swain's case the splash looked good, it just didn't look like Swain.
In the case of Lumberjack Sion: It looks good, but it doesn't remind me of a lumberjack. It might as well be flannel Sion or something.
Realistically Sion probably "cuts" down tree by charging through them. However skins shouldn't be about how the character normally is. It is them but slightly different. Them from a parallel universe I guess.
Lumberjack Sion should be Sion dressed up and acting like a Lumberjack, singing "I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK"
The splash just feels too aggressive to me.

Fondling Gems2 votesCrap I accidentally refreshed the page and lost the paragraph I was writing. Let me summarize what I was about to say.
When looking at a splash art one should be able to immediately tell what the theme of the skin is.
With Sinful Succulence I can take one glance and say "Chef Morgana" and it is pretty darn close.
When I look at lumberjack Sion however I CAN figure out the theme of the skin but it takes a minute of piecing together all the details. When i saw the old splash i could say "That is a lumberjack"
Now I say "That is a..... lumberjack?" after pondering for a few seconds. That is a really big and important part of art design. With something like splash arts one should be able to tell what the skin is portraying at a glance and then spend time noticing eye candy.
That is my issue with the splash.
