lol, no. This is not a cash cow. This is a professional company. You think they don't want to make a profit?? They are cool enough to create a community driven business model so support it; I do. How do you think they are going to maintain and optimize their infrastructure? ..with magic fairy dust??? I am a software developer and cannot commend Riot enough on what they have done and are continually trying to improve upon.

You do realize that it isn't a matter of money. They've got the money, they're putting everything where it needs to go. But frankly, the money doesn't solve the issue of the fact that they're completely separate teams and divisions. You wouldn't hire an artist to do coding and server maintenance, just like you wouldn't hire a programmer to draw you a masterpiece work of splash art. All these cries for "stop working on X and work on Y instead!" are absolutely pointless, because they already ARE working on it. It's a completely different set of people with a different set of skills. Please, learn this. I'm tired of seeing this same comment every time.

Perhaps it's also a matter of that they already have things in the making and on the way. But also maybe they do need to do some revisions to everything. This is an old argument indeed, think of Blizzard. It takes them 3-5 years to produce anything that isn't a full game and at least 10 to make a new game. In my opinion Rito has the fact that it IS free to play and also sophisticated on their side. also they've only been around for 6 years with the League of Draven and way ahead of any other complicated f2p mmo besides maybe Dotuh :P but league looks millions of times better

Riot made 630 Million in revenue for 2013, if they spent only a fraction of a percent of the profits we'd have East Coast servers and a team to manage them. It'd be like a drop in the bucket for them. Especially for a company with around a thousand employees. It'd probably mean a lot to their east coast players, but it'd cost them money so they're just gonna shove it in their pockets instead. That seems like the reality. I'd probably do that too.

Are you kidding me? The type of artwork they receive from their artists cost a lot more than you think. Think more in the HUNDREDS for just a nice splash art and then the artists also probably do the GIF images as well. I've seen equal art to their's (some even better) run upwards of 400$ standard for a single piece (Yes that's the reality of it). Now to keep up with costs to their own servers from around the country, do you know how much those cost to run? a ton, Tons of Money. Then their workforce probably takes a nice chunk of their money as well. Running on average around 33% of the profits (Hiring that expert coder to learn your code that is 6 years old and constantly improve upon it is very taxing and difficult, you try poking around league's coding, see how far you get). Give Riot some props for keeping their game free to play. I pay money to SUPPORT riot, the skins are just nice rewards I take along the way. Riot is an amazing company that actually reads your comments and takes them into account. Yes they patrol the forms and message boards looking for those that need help and such, then we have people like you who berate them for people doing their jobs. I don't think you realize that they are people too! Not some machine that you can just pay money to and expect instant results. They make mistakes, they break the game. They have testers who tirelessly test, break, bug splat, and balance out the thing you love playing in your off hours. Give them a break kid... Leave riot alone and let them do their job.

hmm lets start with this is a free to play game.. so for them to make money they have to make something you want and sell it. The servers well lets look back at WoW they bought a lot of server power and it ran great but they made you buy the game and pay to play making them way more money then Riot will ever see. So with that being said did you ever look around 2009-2010ish WoW were selling some servers because they just didn't need them if Riot went and bought enough server power (and paid the up keep) to hold all of us they wouldn't make enough to pay the staff, no more skins (which you seem to not want anyway win for you). no more map updates, no new maps, no new toons, no new toon graphic updates and soon it would go under... I would just sit back and let the people running the game that has the biggest pop./fan base of any game right now and let them do the damn thing. Boom!

Or, you could just let the community mod it. I'm sure the community is ready and willing to mod it, but Riot has cut them off. Community made maps often become popular, community cosmetics are the ones people often want the most.
