Patch 7.24 notes

Riot··5 votes·225,634 views

Greetings Summoners,

It's the final (sort of) patch of the preseason and that means a lot of tweaks based on our first round of data. The game always changes a decent amount this time of year, so we're looking to make sure that—heading into next season—most champions at least feel the same, and some might even have the potential to do more.

A number of champions love the new runes and have been smashing the competition as a result, while others find themselves without the keystone they'd want. We're looking to give those characters some love in the meantime, and then we'll go from there.

Some of the runes themselves are either on the strong or weak side, so there's some balance tuning coming through on that front. We want to make sure that we don't head into the winter break with huge outliers still hanging around, so we'll be doing another minor patch before then.

Finally, we're rolling out a major update to the healthbars in the game, hoping to increase clarity overall and visibility on some of the less noticeable moments in the game. More on that below!

Mid-Patch Updates

12/7/2017 Balance Update

Morgana

Morgana's overall durability in teamfights is just too high, thanks to the massive heal she's getting from her ultimate.
HEALTH GROWTH STAT 98 ⇒ 90
STILL DEFINITELY NOT SPELL VAMP Damage to heal conversion ratio adjusted from 15/20/25/30/35/40% (at levels 1/4/7/10/13/16) ⇒ 20% (at all levels)
LESS TORMENT W - Tormented Soil cooldown increased from 10 ⇒ 12

Patch Highlights

Champions

Aurelion Sol

R cooldown reduced.

This patch's buff to Phase Rush on ranged champions will help revitalize the Starforger, but he's far enough below par to deserve a little extra.

R - Voice of Light

COOLDOWN 120/100/80 ⇒ 110/90/70

Bard

Base health regen and meep damage increased.

The new trading landscape has done a lot to buff the trading patterns of supports while Bard has stayed pretty constant. As a result, he's a bit on the punishable side, so we're giving him some love.

Base stats

BASE HEALTH REGEN 5.4 per 5 seconds ⇒ 7.5 per 5 seconds

Passive - Traveler's Call

MEEP BASE DAMAGE 30 ⇒ 40

Camille

Passive shield duration increased. Q recast window increased.

Fervor of Battle had been providing Camille with a good deal of sustained damage. Without that, she's losing more trades. Rather than straight up increasing her trade power, we're giving her more room to use Q2 more effectively (and potentially while protected by her passive shield).

Passive - Adaptive Defenses

SHIELD DURATION 1.5 seconds ⇒ 2 seconds

Q - Precision Protocol

WINDOW TO RECAST Q 3 seconds ⇒ 3.5 seconds (delay for empowered attack still 1.5 seconds)
newWHAT TIME IS IT Timer displays on icon showing second cast availability

Darius

Passive bleed damage and bonus AD at max stacks increased.

Darius lost bonus attack damage from both runes and Fervor of Battle when we switched to the new system. While he got a base attack damage buff at the same time, his passive scales with bonus—not total—attack damage, and his trading pattern has suffered as a result.

Passive - Hemorrhage

BLEED DAMAGE PER STACK 10-27 (at levels 1-18) ⇒ 13-30 (at levels 1-18)
BLEED DAMAGE AT 5 STACKS 50-135 (at levels 1-18) ⇒ 65-150 (at levels 1-18)
NOXIAN MIGHT BONUS AD, LV 1-3 30 ⇒ 30/35/40
NOXIAN MIGHT BONUS AD, LV 4-6 35 ⇒ 45/50/55
NOXIAN MIGHT BONUS AD, LV 7-10 40/50/60/70 ⇒ 60/65/70/75
NOXIAN MIGHT BONUS AD, LV 11-13 80/90/100 ⇒ 85/95/105
NOXIAN MIGHT BONUS AD, LV 14-18 120/140/160/180/200 ⇒ 130/155/180/205/230

Evelynn

W's magic resist shred now applies to the attack or ability that procs it.

Some feel-good usability tweaks

Recommended items

THIS DOES MORE THAN YOU'D THINK Evelynn's recommended items have been updated!

Passive - Demon Shade

BUGFIX When camouflaged, Evelynn is now properly warned when she's revealed by a turret

W - Allure

BUFF-FIX Allure's magic resist shred now applies to the attack or ability that procs it

Ezreal

Q ratio decreased.

Back when we buffed Mystic Shot in 7.17, Ezreal was struggling in the bot lane landscape. Flash forward seven patches, and with how strong Kleptomancy is on him, it's clear he no longer needs that additional baseline power.

Q - Mystic Shot

RATIO 1.25 total attack damage ⇒ 1.1 total attack damage

Galio

W now deals damage to champions. Passive ratio decreased. E cooldown decreased.

Galio is struggling a bit, so we're buffing up his damage. However, we want to tie his strength to slightly riskier actions, like diving in with Justice Punch and landing a good Shield of Durand taunt. Essentially, as a beefy champion who also has the potential to dish out some damage, he should be rewarded for taking positional risks.

Passive - Colossal Smash

RATIO 0.7 ability power ⇒ 0.5 ability power

W - Shield of Durand

newSHIELD BASH Now deals 20/30/40/50/60 (+0.2 ability power) - 60/90/120/150/180 (+0.6 ability power) damage to taunted champions, based on charge time
BUFF-FIX Fixed a bug where the taunt duration of partially-channeled W casts was sometimes shorter than intended

E - Justice Punch

COOLDOWN 14/13/12/11/10 seconds ⇒ 12/11/10/9/8 seconds

Ivern

Grove health cost decreased.

Ivern's historically relied on Triggerseed's low cooldown to help him survive fights. However, the transition from Thunderlord's Decree to the burstier-but-higher-cooldown Electrocute has given aggressive junglers an easier time taking Ivern down before he gets a second shield off. We're offsetting this systemic shift by reducing the health costs Ivern pays for clearing his own camps.

Passive - Friend of the Forest

GROVE HEALTH COST 33%-11.75% (at levels 1-18) base health ⇒ 25%-8% (at levels 1-18) base health

Jarvan IV

Passive and Q damage decreased.

Electrocute's high burst damage means Jarvan is laying down serious gank kill threat, so we're taking away some of his base damage to compensate.

Passive - Martial Cadence

PERCENT HEALTH DAMAGE 10% target's current health ⇒ 8% target's current health

Q - Dragon Strike

DAMAGE 80/125/170/215/260 ⇒ 80/120/160/200/240

Karthus

R ratio increased.

Losing Deathfire Touch has hurt Karthus' overall teamfight damage and he doesn't have a solid replacement. As such, he just needs a bit more oomph.

R - Requiem

DAMAGE RATIO 0.6 ability power ⇒ 0.75 ability power

Leona

W damage decreased.

Leona's always dealt a lot of magic damage, and with less magic resist in the system—plus the new Aftershock rune—it's too much.

W - Eclipse

BASE DAMAGE 60/100/140/180/220 ⇒ 40/80/120/160/200

Malzahar

R damage decreased.

Malzahar should need to press more buttons to kill people.

R - Nether Grasp

DAMAGE 125/225/325 (+1.1 ability power) ⇒ 125/200/275 (+0.8 ability power)

Maokai

Q damage decreased.

With less magic resist around, Maokai's high base damage has made him a bit too threatening for a tank.

Q - Bramble Smash

BASE DAMAGE 70/115/160/205/250 ⇒ 65/105/145/185/225

Morgana

Base mana regen increased; mana regen growth decreased. Passive no longer procs on small units but heals more off everything else. W cooldown reduced when passive procs.

Morgana's existing laning pattern is pretty uninspiring: Press W on wave, get health back, keep laning. We're sharpening that pattern to give her more clear success and failure cases, and give opponents better windows in which to punish her (or deny her lane sustain). Trimming back that generic power allows us to make solo lane Morgana a lot stronger when played well.

Base stats

MANA REGEN 8.5 per 5 seconds ⇒ 11.5 per 5 seconds
MANA REGEN GROWTH STAT 0.8 ⇒ 0.4

Passive - Soul Siphon

removedSPELL VAMP No longer grants 10/15/20% spell vamp
newDEFINITELY NOT SPELL VAMP Morgana heals for 15/20/25/30/35/40% (at levels 1/4/7/10/13/16) of the damage her abilities deal to champions, large minions, and large monsters

W - Tormented Soil

newFOMENTED TORMENT Tormented Soil's cooldown is now reduced by 5% whenever Passive - Soul Siphon triggers

Ornn

W damage reduced, cooldown increased.

With Sunfire Cape buffs on the way (see below), Ornn's Bellows are going to be a bit too stoked—especially since he's already on the strong side—so we're dialing back his innate damage.

W - Bellows Breath

PERCENT HEALTH DAMAGE 12/14/16/18/20% target's maximum health ⇒ 10/12/14/16/18% target's maximum health
COOLDOWN 12/11/10/9/8 seconds ⇒ 13/12/11/10/9 seconds

Riven

Q damage increased.

Without Fervor of Battle, Riven is missing out on a decent amount of her sustained damage.

Q - Broken Wings

BASE DAMAGE PER HIT 10/30/50/70/90 ⇒ 15/35/55/75/95
RATIO PER HIT 40/45/50/55/60% total attack damage ⇒ 45/50/55/60/65% total attack damage

Shen

Q damage bonus decreased.

Shen's ability to win trades on his base damage alone is making him a pretty oppressive top laner to face off against.

Q - Twilight Assault

BASE DAMAGE BONUS 15/20/25/30/35/40 (at levels 1/4/7/10/13/16) ⇒ 5/10/15/20/25/30 (at levels 1/4/7/10/13/16)

Sona

Q cost increased. Q aura's flat damage bonus decreased; ratio increased.

Even after her mid-patch nerfs back in 7.22, Sona's lane poke is overbearing.

Q - Hymn of Valor

COST 45/50/55/60/65 mana ⇒ 60/65/70/75/80 mana
AURA DAMAGE BONUS 20/30/40/50/60 (+0.2 ability power) ⇒ 10/15/20/25/30 (+0.3 ability power)

Taric

Base armor decreased.

Lots of champions received bonus armor when we released Runes Reforged. Most champions don't have as many armor ratios as Taric does, though, and as a result he gained too much from those buffs.

Base stats

BASE ARMOR 45 ⇒ 40

Xin Zhao

Base health decreased. W second hit ratio decreased.

Xin is proving too good at Pressing Three Attacks. Once he does, his baseline durability gives him too much freedom to unload on his target (and his overall damage is probably also a bit high).

Base stats

BASE HEALTH 600 ⇒ 570

W - Wind Becomes Lightning

LINE DAMAGE RATIO 0.85 total attack damage ⇒ 0.75 total attack damage

Yorick

Base attack damage decreased.

Yorick benefits from base attack damage more than almost any champ between his Triforce/Sterak's Gage synergy and his attack reset, which we recently changed to work on turrets. In combination with new runes like Demolish, the split-pushing grave digger has a bit too much damage to unearth on champions and towers alike.

Base stats

BASE ATTACK DAMAGE 65 ⇒ 62

Zoe

W spell pickups last less long. E now travels less far, slows less, but lasts longer.

Zoe's Spell Thief pickups put a lot of pressure on her opponents. When they're on the ground, they're an extra burst of power they have to fear, and that can make it overwhelming to fight against her. Moreover, if an opponent does try to zone her away from the pickup, they have to do so for quite some time. Bringing that time down should give opponents more ability to exert influence in the lane.

Separately, we fixed a bug that was making it very difficult to cast Sleepy Trouble Bubble through walls unless you got right next to them. Now that players are going to be able to cast from slightly farther away from walls, we're afraid that will simply give her a longer threat range than intended, so we're taking a bit of the overall range out of that ability.

Q - Paddle Star

COOLDOWN Now begins after Q cast completes, not when it begins
WITHOUT A PADDLE Fixed a bug where Zoe's Q - Paddle Star recast indicator would sometimes disappear when E - Sleepy Trouble Bubble was cast immediately after Q - Paddle Star
2 PADDLE 2 FURIOUS Fixed a bug where Zoe's Q - Paddle Star recast indicator would linger when Q - Paddle Star was recast quickly
PIDDLY PADDLY Fixed a bug where Zoe's Q - Paddle Star recast indicator would sometimes experience graphical bugs as the missile reached its max lifetime
FOLLOW ME! Fixed a bug where Zoe's R - Portal Jump occasionally failed to properly extend the range of Q - Paddle Star

W - Spell Thief

DURATION OF SPELL PICK-UPS FROM MINIONS 40 seconds ⇒ 20 seconds

E - Sleepy Trouble Bubble

COOLDOWN Refund on hit ⇒ Refund on champion hit
DROWSY DURATION 2 seconds ⇒ 2.2 seconds
SLOW Drowsy's progressively growing slow reduced by 20%
MAX TRAVEL DISTANCE AFTER PASSING OVER A WALL 800 ⇒ 650
TRAP RADIUS 290 ⇒ 250
MIKAEL'S ALARM Mikael's Crucible now properly removes Sleep
BUBBLE TROUBLE Fixed a bug where Zoe's E - Sleepy Trouble Bubble occasionally stopped short when cast directly next to a wall

Zyra

Base mana regen increased; mana regen growth decreased. W charge time reduced whenever Zyra kills an enemy. W no longer increases plant health.

Zyra's one of the champions that makes us have long discussions about what a healthy gameplay pattern is, even more so when she's t(h)orn between being a midlaner or a support. It also made us think about what it means to have champions transitioning from one lane to another and what that means for the game in general.

We always get super excited whenever we see champions having fun play patterns in more than one role. For Zyra especially, we found ways for her to thrive as a support in a healthier way, but it wasn't all flowers just yet. This set of changes should provide our favorite fern more agency to go where she wants or where her team needs her the most.

Base stats

MANA REGEN 8.5 per 5 seconds ⇒ 11.5 per 5 seconds
MANA REGEN GROWTH STAT 0.8 ⇒ 0.4

Passive - Garden of Thorns

MAX SEED SPAWN RANGE 1300 ⇒ 900
PLANT DURATION 5/5.5/6/6.5/7/7.5 seconds (at levels 1/4/7/10/13/16) ⇒ 8 seconds at all levels
PASSIVE SEED DURATION 45 seconds ⇒ 30 seconds (W seeds unchanged at 60 seconds)
PLANT HEALTH 4-6, based on W rank ⇒ 8 (see W notes below)
PLANT GOLD GRANTED ON KILL 5 ⇒ 3

Damage taken by plants

Plants now die instantly to melee basic attacks but can survive more hits from damage over time effects and small minions/monsters. They're less durable in the late game against all other sources, since ranking up W no longer increases their health. As a side note, there are a few more plants overall.
    RANGED BASIC ATTACKS 2 ⇒ 4
    MELEE BASIC ATTACKS 2 ⇒ 8

    LARGE MINIONS/MONSTERS 1 ⇒ 2

W - Rampant Growth

removedMIGHTY OAK No longer grants Zyra's plants 10/20/30/40/50% extra maximum health
newFERTILIZER When Zyra kills an enemy, Rampant Growth's recharge time is reduced by 20%, 100% for champion takedowns, large minion kills, and large monster kills.

BASE DAMAGE 60/95/130/165/200 ⇒ 60/105/150/195/240

R - Stranglethorns

Items

Bramble Vest

Reflect damage now has lower base damage but scales with armor.

Bramble Vest is still proving too strong a spot-counter against basic attackers, thanks to the spike of strength it provides against them. We're working to dial that back and ensure it doesn't take over the laning phase.
MAGIC DAMAGE REFLECT 15 ⇒ 3 + 10% of bonus armor

Sunfire Cape

Aura damage increased.

The two items that have enabled consistent laning patterns for tanks this season have been Sunfire Cape and Bramble Vest. We're not really happy with the play patterns that arise from either being the go-to item on tanks: Sunfire Cape tends to lead to overly high base damage on tanks with little cost in overall durability, while Bramble Vests makes playing basic-attacking champions in top lane overly prohibitive.

However, without either of those items, it's become clear that tank laning patterns fall apart. At this point, it's clear that Sunfire Cape is the healthier dynamic, so we're reverting the changes from Patch 7.9, but we hope to revisit Sunfire Cape in the future.
AURA DAMAGE 11 + 1/level ⇒ 25 + 1/level
BONUS DAMAGE TO MINIONS +200% ⇒ +50%
HI ORNN These changes apply to Forgefire Cape as well

so lemme just get this straight

Ezreal sitting at #1 in ADC with 57% win rate and third-highest role pick rate, banned in >80% of games Q Total AD ratio goes from 125% to 110%, which is literally just a buff revert Kleptomancy, his standard rune, no longer has 25 bonus attack range — which wasn't even how he was activating it 90% of the time

Leona sitting at #1 in support with a 55% win rate and second-highest role pick rate, banned in >35% of games 20 damage off Eclipse Aftershock, her standard rune, untouched

Miss Fortune sitting at #2 in ADC with 55% win rate and sixth-place pick rate, banned in ~15% of games literally nothing

Sona back down to 8th in support with a 52% win rate and ninth-place pick rate, now only banned in 2% of games rank 1 Q mana cost increased by a third, on-hit damage from empowered basic attack halved, AP ratio increased from 10% to 20% but that means you need >300 AP for it to compensate Aery, one of her two standard runes, nerfed last patch Kleptomancy lost the aforementioned 25 bonus attack range, which, unlike Ezreal, actually matters for Sona

You only looked at the superficial part of the numbers. Both ez and leona got high winrates due to their strong early game, in-lane pokes and in-lane all in. They get ahead early and snowball the rest of the game. They decay over time if you do look at the data carefully. Which means if you nerf them too hard so that they cant even establish their strength during early to mid game, they r much more useless later. While sona, on the other hand, is super strong mid to late game, and now (before 7.24) her in lane poke is also overwhelming which completely makes no sense. That's why she was nerfed very hard on the numbers. tbh those nerfs doesn't affect her mid to late game a lot, but do cut her lane presence a lot which makes sense.

Not trying to mock ur elo, but I was guessing that u r gold at most just by looking at your statements (which shows ur understanding of the game), and I checked, bingo...

I would claim that kleptomancy ezreal is op but not that much, he is a bit overestimated cause many people haven't adjust their game knowledge and playstyle according to the new rune system. They still think ezreal is a mid-game champ and play against him in the wrong way till they found that "wtf it really hurts", and it's already too late. As people become more familiar with the new rune system, his winrate will decay naturally.

That 20 dmg isnt going to do crap to stop the snowball, its leona we are talking about , and only touched on 1 spell

ya dude the Leona nerf is such a joke "wow man shes doing so much less dmg now , WOOOW 20 less >BASE< damage, woow weee" [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Im a Sona main and I am really sad about this. I havent played her much anymore because of all the nerfs. Shes not as fun like she use to be..

Don't forget that with Sona's heal being nerfed, she has to heal more often to actually heal/shield her team, so her mana is running out faster. With the increased mana costs, and no inherent mana regen from runes, it's killing the supports if they have a team that doesn't know how to not take free poke. This is just destroying Sona. I haven't been this upset about patch notes since the first major rework to her back in Season 4. And I've mained her since Season 3 off and on. How is any of this fair?

It's not OUR fault that this Runes Reforged system didn't factor in basic magic resist. Why does my main champion have to be gutted because for the first time in years she's not weak? Just because some adc doesn't like the fact that for once it's not a Rengar or a Zed killing him, it's a Sona. So you nerf her heal, her shield, her base ad, her base armor, and then slash her bonus q damage in half. But Leona gets 20 damage off her W, no change to her tank stats. Taric gets a whopping -5 armor. No change to any of the other tank supports that have all jumped in win rate. No change to Malphite who really shot up in winrate. Nope. It's Sona that gets trashed by this. This is a devastating nerf.

Makes me want to quit to be honest. At least until this Preseason mess is cleaned up. If they ever do.

My 4 mains are Sona, Nautilus, Taric, and Leona. So this patch really sucked for me.

At least they didn't touch my precious Nautilus

AntiSkillshot28 votes

Riot loves nerfing Sona more than any other champion.

Well, probably except Irelia...

drketchup40 votes

Oh yeah poor sona, only been top 10 winrate in the game for like 2 years

Adelvina11 votes

Riot loves nerfing anything support related in general, lets be honest here.

FantasyBreaker10 votes

Since it's Leona related, got to comment on this.

MissFortune doesn't get pinned down b/c she doesn't have a movement skill or stun to save herself. i.e. there are picks to do the job.

Ezreal is just revert to re-balance. They might have to look at what Klepto is giving rather than just nerfing ez 'til 2020.

Sona agree that's a little too much, but think about her aura mid-late game, and you got to win the early game with all the Q's? And she's been around low-mid elo before rune change. Small buff to W will be good to compensate it (if indeed over-nerf).

As a Leona main since her release, I can tell you it's been that way since ancient time. You always look to roll the summoner 32 down the hill. It just happen that the new runes are too good for her (and adc to burst) and everyone start using her (which doesn't take a whole lot of skill to be good at it). Much like mf argument though, there is hard counter (Morgana Lulu ). I do agree though, 20 dmg on W? Fight start at lvl2 w/ EQ, so please nerf properly - passive, W bonus armor and MR, ult-auto will be good things to look at. I actually would not mind nerfing it back to a 5-6% pick rate (then I don't have to worry about pick first/ban).

btw, did I mention Nunu ? TPA skins are layered w/ dust and I don't see anyone speak up for them. Oh yeah, I forgot there is yeti to share the sadness.

I mean, while there are picks that can shut down MF, they're clearly not doing it well enough to actually keep her down all that much right now. Her win rate doesn't suffer all that much as matches go on, either — she stays at about 51% even in 40+ minute games.

Ezreal's not going to be balanced from just this one revert. Kleptomancy is problematic, and Ezreal himself is problematic.

Sona wasn't winning the early game with Qs all that easily after the last round of nerfs — she had less durability and less sustain, while being one of the single most punishable supports in the entire game. These new nerfs are completely unnecessary, and completely out of order in comparison to the nerfs Leona and Ezreal received, despite both of them outperforming her substantially. There has been a history of Riot over-nerfing Sona, and it doesn't get any less stupid to see happen the more history repeats.

Leona's still got a 55% win rate against Lulu, and a 52% win rate against Morgana, according to OP.GG. Champion.GG also lists 53.7% against Lulu and 54.3% against Morgana. Lolalytics is also showing Leona performing well against them. In a fair matchup, Morgana should be strong against Leona, but Leona is just that far out of line right now. A big part of it is Eclipse's interaction with Aftershock, which they have, for some reason, decided to let be.

Bear in mind, MF is one of my favorite ADCs, and I love Leona. She was the first tank support I ever played, and one of my earliest supports to play in general. I like that she's one of the few really proactive tank supports in the game. But I hate that they're letting her stay overpowered, and she's definitely still going to be overpowered with just this piddly 20 damage reduction. :/

NagatoFan19 votes

Check out the PBE update, they are also nerfing a few items that Sona uses regularly. She got nerfed once, then Aery got nerfed, now she’s getting nerfed this patch and next items she uses will reduce her heals/shields further!

Blue Moon Wolf57 votes

Why remove the 25 bonus range on Klepto? The champs who were abusing it weren't even using that to proc it.

Squii8 votes

all 2 of them lol. But yeah they basically got rid of any reason to use klepto on any other champ than ez and gp with the range removal. dumb idea

Potato Bus48 votes

Any chance we can get the rune path symbols colorized when you're selecting the path? These: https://i.imgur.com/tnRsrfq.jpg

I'm starting to learn them, but I wouldn't exactly call the symbols intuitive. The colors help make the connection for which path I'm looking for.

zlumpy34 votes

We always get super excited whenever we see champions having fun play patterns in more than one role.

...I would say historically this is an incredibly false statement in the Zyra section. You booted malz out of support. You kicked alister and Taric out of top. You ruined my Nunu support from way back. You pushed a ton of champions out of midlane. I have seen unconventional jungles kicked out out of the farming woods...

Tbh it seems if the community tries to find a place to play a character that Doesn't fit your pre conceived ideas of where they should go you get pretty heavy handed with those champs. I'm actually surprised you are letting some characters stay toplane atm.

How can you say you support 4k now but not the cursor?! I've been able to set the resolution of the game to 4k for a long time now, but the cursor is so small its completely unplayable! Let me know when the cursor works, until then, 4k is unsupported!

Civility9 votes

High resolution should be such an easy problem to fix. All that is needed is scaling. It should have been solved five years ago. Just check the resolution and scale both 3D and 2D images based on it. Scaling the 3D stuff already happens if you zoom in or out. Scaling 2D images, though, like the mini-map...wait, that's configurable also. Why it doesn't all scale automatically, I have no idea. Maybe the code for displaying a 2D image for a cursor is really complicated (like, 2,000,000 lines of code) and requires human sacrifice to an arcane deity.

Sol LuNaria25 votes

Why is it always all random? When will we be able to chose our urf characters.

FenricsShield53 votes

Pretty much never.

URF meta went stagnant really fast. People decided what the "best" champs were and always played them, demanding their TEAM-MATES should play them too. (Protip: they weren't as effective as everybody thought they were.) To keep things exciting and not just see the sane 10-20 champs over and over again, Riot forced random champ picks.

Who knows? You might find new hilarious tricks in the non-meta "junk" you're given to play! (Perma-silence somebody as 'raka, become permanently invulnerable to any AD character as Rammus, turn all mid lane into one giant bush as Ivern, etc.)

LordVRAI16 votes

Or I could pick the non meta champs myself?

Well Sona mains, time to find a new champ to play for a while. Worthless early game poke means you are never seeing her mid game...

Sakaru2 votes

Morg Q's instant on contact, Zoe E gives you time to position yourself before falling asleep (Or kill Zoe depending on fight). Also easier to dodge since it has a slight windup.

I agree Zoe's overbearing right now, but Morg's Q is definitely the stronger of the 2 abilities.

Darkeus23 votes

I think you might have replied to the wrong person. I was talking about Sona.

Tanorik22 votes

I have a question about Zoe's E.

Why is it that both Gangplank Orange and Morgana Black Shield, when used to to stop drowsy, don't stop the falling asleep part? I'm sure someone has asked before and I missed it, but I would like to know.

Seems kinda dumb that removing the first part, or being CC immune, doesn't stop the second.

CithriaC5 votes

Gangplank: I assume its because zoes bubble has 2 different parts, A windup(also slows) and a sleep. If gangplank oranges the first part, why should it remove the second part, if this was added, why shouldn't Gangplank be able to orange Urgot's ult marker. I know they aren't the exact same thing, but this is the best example.

Morgana: Yea it seems stupid, though I think it might be this way so zoe is not denied by Morgana for being able to land her ability. If it was changed to the way that makes sense, if Morgana see's her ally got hit with a bubble(which morg should of blocked first, if this was any other ability), she just has to oops and black shield that person within 2.2 seconds(a lot of time to react when playing) and they are ok.

Sorry if it sounds attacking/biting, but these were the reasons

Gamma Anomaly9 votes

With the Morgana thing: that is the point of Morgana's Black Shield, is it not? I mean rank one it is like a 17 second cooldown, I don't know the cooldown on Zoe's bubble but it is certainly shorter. I think it is just an oversight, if anything.

Panatea17 votes

Another unbalanced patch. nothing new.

Ljubezen15 votes

Because the 25 extra range with Kepto was the issue. Not the fact that champions like Gangplank Ezreal were using ability's to proc it, god forbid. Classic balance team fucking up another patch

Noticed that there's no mention of Sion or Aatrox being unstoppable during their R and Q respectively. I don't know if it was just forgotten in the notes or if they actually don't have the unstoppable tag in-game.
