this is great and all, but all i can really think of is how many more bad players there will be. They could barely grasp the simple concept of the games before, now this? lol team work is a must it seems now, and there's plenty of players that can't pull their own weight. Riot should invest heavily in a better rank up system.
If riot is reading, and for fans of the game, here is something i just came up with and would love to read thoughts
they should create tier systems. "recreational", "competitive", "pro". you pick where you want to and you may change your tier, but you can always be removed.
recreational is for those players that always complain about aggressive, competitive players. they always talk about they don't care, or make fun of try hards, or they really just want to play for fun. this is the place for them, they can enjoy losing and winning and do not really care about their performance in game.
competitive is the intermediate level, it's for players who are actively trying to play, but may not be on the pro level or are aspiring to become apart of higher level players. this zone is for the more serious players only.
pro is the creme de la creme. these are your elite players, the place you definitely do not fuck around in, as everyone is high level player.
obviously, since people can freely choose where they want to go, but a checks and balances system should be in place. I think, this is where riot really lacks. tribunal is one sided as well. if people are going to competitive realms, and they are constantly being reported for not caring, not using team work, not communicating, etc, they will be automatically be moved to recreational.
Pro is a realm that you must qualify for, as many people are upset that low level skilled players are being carried to high rank and ruin the game. I really believe an arbitrary or inadequate system is used for ranking. it goes mainly off winning and losing it seems. consequently, I truly believe an in game system, by game basis should be implemented to award points and ranking. in other words, your value should be assessed and rewarding accordingly.
If you are a player, that usually carries a team, and gets kills, dies less, gets assists and wins, you will be awarded more points than opposed to your teammate that went 1-8-4 and wins. to add, based on your position on the team, your awards are given differently. supports are rewarded more for assists, penalized less for deaths, but awarded for saves, etc if it were to get that in depth which i would hope something like this could be made, and if so contact me (shameless plug). carries are penalized more heavily on streaky deaths, but awarded great for streaky kills. taking dragon, baron, towers, etc are all ways to help your awarded points. inversely, if you are assessed as the main contributor to a loss, you will lose more points than some one who has fought to help a win. I just thought of it now, but it's like NBA2k games my player rating, meets LOL. what you do that positively impacts the game will help you and vice versa. This will limit intentional feeders, as reporting this to tribunal never really matters. This will also create a greater distance between better players and worse players. If you are constantly doing bad, and never really contributing to your team, and always getting carried, you will be paired with players on that playing field. If you are a player that seems to do well against your competition, you will eventually be paired against other players that do the same. Having a bad game is a suggestive topic, but when a average bad game to you is 2-8, that is unacceptable to others, as that is a poor average skill level. consequently, a good game to others may be 8-5, which to some is merely average.
This will force players to either get better, or stay where you are, but I've always felt low level players had a bigger negative impact on players than higher level players positively impacting players. Of course, for people who do not like this, can switch their group to recreational.
I truly believe if something like this is implemented, it will allow game changes such as this to really be maximized in the user's experience. Now that Riot wants to take a direction into team work, for the common user, it is very hard to establish that at all, let alone, with such a skew in skill level that poorly reflect ranking, ambition, and over all mentality of the vast differences between each individual gamer. To clump everyone together, is an injustice to everyone, and something like this can really improve the overall experience of the game.
