End of game gifting is here!

We’ve all had those epic League games that burn into our frontal lobes. Your mid laner xPekes the Nexus to win your last promo game. The enemy top laner manages to hold back your challenger tier Jax. Your plat ranked teammate gives you tips on how to improve instead of raging when you fall behind. In these games, “GG” just isn’t enough.

So, our yordle scientists have developed a new feature called end of game gifting. Now, players can show their appreciation by sending mystery gifts from the post-game lobby. Here are the details:

  •  You do NOT have to be friends to send a gift
  • You can send gifts to players on both teams
  • You can send Mystery Skins, Mystery Champions, or a skin for the champion they just played.
  • Prices are the same as in the store
  • Other gifting restrictions apply.  You must be level 15 to send, level 5 to receive, and can only send or receive up to five gifts each day (For example, sending three mystery gifts from the store and two from the end of game hits your limit)
  • Available in all queues except for custom games

Whether you want to acknowledge a friendly player on the enemy team or reward a teammate who earned their first Pentakill, you can show your appreciation with a gift at the end of the game!

It is a really nice idea. The sentiment of it is really good. I just don't see anyone actually using it. I don't think people are willing to spend actual supplemental dollars on strangers they don't know.

I could have used this around Ascension time. There was this wonderful Leblanc , and we'd held Ascension and the lead all game. In the last ten seconds, the enemy team rushed Xerath to try and ensure that we couldn't get the icon, and Leblanc just burst in there out of nowhere, when we were sure to lose it, comboed, and we got our Perfect. I was roaring and dancing, and would certainly have used this feature to gift her. Turns out she already had the Perfect icon, she'd just wanted to make sure that the rest of us would get it too. It's that kind of player, polite and powerful and kind, that deserves this feature. Badly.

I don't think people realize this is actually a psychological tool designed to lessen toxicity in the game. "I want something, if i act a certain way i am more likely to receive something." Interesting for Riot to implement a tool designed for players to become less toxic through greed. While rewarding other players who enjoy giving gifts. Well played Rito. Well played.

Riot honestly, Who in their right mind would gift someone else that they don't even know. Some people don't even have enough money to get good skins themselves

Why on earth would I ever give a stranger a gift over my friends? I don't like people in League, and I would never give another person free stuff unless I knew them.

That's just another useless portion of the client.
