The amount of checkpoints you get is hard capped by time, its literally not possible to get multiple checkpoints within 3 days. Checkpoints come at I believe it is 2 week intervals. So absolute minimum from honor 1 to honor 2 is 8 weeks.

Yeah, it is insane. I think it is both Honor capped, game capped, and time capped. It also disproportionately hurts people who get punished at the end of the season vs the beginning.

Its a punishment for a reason.

Once again: premades do not have any additional power in getting you banned/chat restricted. 9 reports in a game is equivalent to 1. What matters is frequency across games, and severity of the report. In fact, ganging up on players and coercing the enemy team in game is more detrimental to the person making the report

It really isn't. It only takes "one report" to flag it (which will then check the text to see if it is inappropriate), but it pushes it up in the system if multiple non-premades report. So say 4 people in the premade all convince the other team to report you, then it will go up higher. Two premades with 2 people each reporting you and getting the other team to report you is 7 reports and will automatically count as "negative behavior" no matter what you actually did.

Seriously, do some tests. Get a smurf (or if you're so confident your main account) and ask your teammates and the enemy to report you after the game. Just keep asking and tell them you're doing tests or something. You'll get a chat restriction MUCH faster than if only a single person reports you.

Also, just read this statement there:

Negative behavior is unacceptable regardless of the circumstances or who started it. It can be tempting to respond to negative players with negativity of your own. Our systems do not care who started the behavior and will treat each reported player based off the merits of their own case. The only way to handle these types of players is to mute them and continue playing the game followed by giving them a report at the end of the match.

So if someone is using racial slurs or literally trolling intentionally, they want you to just ignore it 100%. To me that is ridiculous. If I see someone using racial slurs anywhere (even in real life) I'm not going to just walk away, I'm going to tell them to stop because that behavior isn't appropriate. I'm not going to call them names or engage them much more, but saying that their behavior is childish and immature shouldn't be deemed enough to be chat restricted. But in Riot's eyes it is.

I was in a pre-made with 4 of my friends, and my one friend was playing Lee Sin Jungle, pinged me that he was gonna gank my lane, and actually baited me into inting my laner, then laughed really hard, which I also thought it was funny, but I called him a r**ard in team chat b/c I knew it would make him laugh. Well, you know what would make him laugh even harder? Reporting me after the game and getting me chat banned for 6 games, dropping me from honor level 5 to honor level 0. Pre-mades do this all the time and it's kinda shitty that we get hit with a penalty this bad for it. :/

Yeah, I think Chat Restriction should only reduce Honor by 1 or something. The nuclear option of completely zeroing out for a single chat restriction is pretty ridiculous.

being reported by 4 people in a game has the same impact as being reported by 1 person in that same game. All a report does is flag the system to check it out, it doesn't skew the system in their favor the more people who reported you.

Saddest part is you got 3, now 4, upvotes for calling out his/her toxic name. Yet they get 26 upvotes.

You're more likely to be reported defending yourself, instead of muting, than somebody who is being an intentional toxic jerk is.
