You do realize the chances were only raised 50%, meaning that your chances went from a few every hundred purchases to that number times 1.5

I mean, 4 of these msi capsules have the same rate of getting a gemstone as about 18 normal chests (3 chances per capsule but also 3 times the RP. So 4x3=12 and add on the 50% boost to make it 12+6=18). I would say not getting a gemstone in 18 hextech chests is borderline unlucky.

I saw some YouTuber make multiple videos where he opened a hundred dollars in chests, and you'd be surprised how much it varies, so you really can't make any assumptions as to what is and isn't unlucky. What I'm saying is that what we do know is that it isn't likely, and slightly raising your chances isn't exactly a gigantic boost. The entire point of these gemstones is that they're supposed to be rare.

Yeah I understand that, but to be fair, the feature of these capsules that they have been touting as the "reason to buy now" is their increased chance at a gemstone, and even a rare opportunity to get 3 in 1, so to spend 2400 rp and not get a single one probably has the op feeling a bit cheated.

I don't think you get it; no matter how high they raise the chance, if it's not 100%, it's not guaranteed. They want to make it more common, but they can't market these as "Buy it and you'll get a gemstone!" They still have to be somewhat rare. And besides, there are people in this very comment section that have gotten gemstones in most of their canisters, so you really can only chock it up to bad luck. Also, these aren't "gemstone canisters." They're "MSI canisters," meaning that they are mainly marketed as a way of getting esports-related loot, in fact, the gemstones are the very last thing they mention are in the canisters. It's literally after the words "As a bonus".

Riot said they'd have chances in the future where gemstones were "purchasable", but outside of the last PROJECT event, getting gemstones through every event after has been a gamble still.

Once more, Riot thinks only of their wallets; though we all knew the gemstone skins were a giant scam anyways.

If Riot really didn't care about us, they would've cut their losses a long time ago. They would've stopped, made a few smart investments, and lived the rest of their lives financially secure. The only reason they've wanted to keep things going is because they want to please the community; in fact, that's the only way they would be able to keep it going at all. Should I remind you all of the stuff Riot has released that you don't have to spend a cent on? Alright, how's this: Every champion ever, every rune, and the game itself. Everything else is either cosmetic or otherwise unnecessary. This game is by no means pay-to-win, so if you waste your money on something you know is a gamble and won't actually do anything besides look pretty, and it doesn't come up your way, that's nobody's fault but yours. And just because Riot hasn't done what they say they've done doesn't mean they won't. Just look at Surrender@20 and you'll see that item sets are on PBE, or look on your client and see the "Solo Queue" option. Honestly, if you're going to be an ingrate, do it somewhere else or shut up.

But the chests and capsules aren't just about the gemstones, they cater to the group of players that is fairly flexible with their interests, as the chests are hugely beneficial rp wise, just not good for picky people that only want certain skins. The gemstones are just an added bonus to make it even more worth it to those people, and somewhat appealing to those who otherwise would rather just purchase specific skins and not mess around with chance. I would say that last PROJECT event was a fulfillment of their promise. I would be shocked if they had a direct rp price tied to purchasing a single gemstone because it kills a fair amount of the point of the hextech crafting system.

elaborate? i just started a few weeks ago and have experienced the "your toxic" because you ask someone to ward, or tell ppl to group up and then you become "bossy and toxic" but do bans really get handed out bc players are so soft and take any form a critique as you going for their throat?

No you will literally never be banned over this unless you go out of your way to abuse someone for not warding. There is a huge and obvious difference between telling someone they're flat wrong or messing up and coming after them and trying to make them feel bad. If anybody reported you as toxic for telling them to group or ward, the report will get thrown out.

Yeahhhhh, it sounds like you probably dropped some offensive slurs or something. Pointing out, or even getting frustrated that a sup is taking your cs would never get you banned, but honestly the fact that you came into a completely unrelated thread to say this makes me think you may be more toxic than you know.

Bought around 25 from 4/27 to 5/13, first few gave me like 8 gemstones and that was it. Not even a single gemstone afterward, and bought 3 Hextech chests with RP left, got 3 gemstones in each. I don't know if I got lucky there or the algorithm is corrupted.

You can't get more than one gemstone out of a hextech chest afaik. The MSI capsules are the only ones that allow the slim chance of 3 gemstones.

They didn't release these capsules for the sole reason of filling everyone's inventories with gemstones. The gemstones are just a part of buying a capsule and no one is making anyone buy them. If you don't like the chance of not getting a gemstone from spending money, then don't take that chance and then complain about it
