could kayn be still viable in other roles as a tank or full ad assassin mid lane? I don't like playing jungle as a role in general

I want to know how the passive will decide what kind of stack you get from killing like Gnar or Jacye since they're ranged and melee
Okay, so i had just recently switched my main role from jungle to mid because i was finding more success. Kayn is an assassin and assassins can be played mid lane, so i was wondering if he could still be viable there? His kit looks like it could favor a jungler, or a roaming mid laner (similar to katarina's roaming potential). I would like to know other's opinions on this. plz discuss my topic.
From the sounds of it you can transform as need be (switch between the Darkin mode and the Shadow Assasin). What's the CD on that? Will it have a longer reset between switching when you die as the version? Like if the Darkin side dies and you respawn will the Darkin version be unavailable for a set time?
AMAZING! I love this character's theme and idea and gameplay and appearance and EVERYTHING ! He definitely looks like someone I'd main, and my type of champion. I love how he dashes, I love his shadow travel ability (Shade Step), I love how original his skillset is, I love how you can adapt with the passive, I love jungling, and I'd love getting those delicious ganks with Shade Step, just jumping out of a wall at the enemy. I love how his aesthetics change with his passive, too. I love how his abilities also have adjustments to them with his passive, and I absolutely ADORE that he has a scythe. I imagine that his dialoge will have him speaking to the scythe and vice-versa, and that his voice changes a bit perhaps depending on the form. I love absolutely everything about this champion. I don't care how hard he is, I will probably main him until I master him and get some good plays. Scythes are my favorite kind of weapon, and we finally get a scythe-weilding champion, plus, it's sentient! I love this so much! Riot totally nailed it with this guy.
I like the transforming idea however my issue is that one form may become more viable than the other causing people to only use that form or are you planning to find a way to prevent that from happening

So when I heard that the next champion was going to be a "transforming" character, I was expecting more akin to Rek'Sai or Jayce. Instead he seems to evolve in a manner more like Kha'Zix or Viktor but turned up to 11. Why the decision to go this route as opposed to reversible in-combat transformations?
Do you think he might be played in roles other than jungle (which it was said in the teaser was supposed to be his main role) viably? And, follow up, if so, do you plan on nerfing mid/top/adc kayn into unviability?

wtf's the upside to playing shadow assassin?
sure that percent health chunk when you first start fighting them but you'd probably do a good ammount of damage anyway without it. Wouldnt it be better to just play him bruiser style and get a shit ton of free lifesteal on top of your lifesteal already and the ult acting like a better ekko ult, with a percent health chunk on both q and ult with a bit of cc?

rito, I like the whole "going through walls" and "percentage of hp as damage" and everything else this guy has, but did you really need to call him Kayn when he can be his scythe?
Top laner/Jungler? Rip Kayn, Yasuo and Zed ult combo If he kills a mage would he get Shadow orbs or just Darkin orbs?
