The VS 2018 event ends on July 11, 2018 at 11:59 PM PT, so make sure to check out the following before the winning God-King is declared:

VS daily missions, mission lines, and loot rewards, including orbs and loading screen borders
VS Chaos and VS Order emotes, which will permanently disappear from the store after the event
VS bundles with exclusive icons

Guys... Riot just made a random excuse to give us free content while advertising 2 beautiful skins. Your missions didn't feel like they mattered? Guess what you still earned free content for every mission you completed. Your side isn't winning? Guess what you still get tons of free content, you are only missing out on 1000 blue essence and your first choice of a free icon. I've received 3 skin shards so far from this event and I would have gotten the same rewards if I had chosen the other side. The missions gave me an extra little nudge of motivation to play this last week. Let me be crystal clear: YOU PAID NOTHING FOR THIS FREE CONTENT, STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT FAIRNESS. IT WAS FREE FREE FREE! Thank you Riot. [garen-swing] If only Garen/Good/Order could win for once, but now we lose out on another badass icon. The way these events' win systems/rewards are set up are honestly trash. Only one side gets rewards for having to blindly choose, and hope enough people pick that side? Yea it's nice to have an immersive event that makes you feel like you're having an actual effect, but that's only if you picked the edgy, garen-teed to win evil side. When your side is losing, it feels horrible. It feels like doing the missions is worthless. I love the skins, love the event ideas, but I'm pissed at the fact that I lose out on his icon. Tbh, it feels rigged, I swear I see more Garen supporter's (based on icons), yet the war favor's Darius.

I'm just gonna drop a copy-paste comment from a different post and leave it here for all the littlin's who actually think Rito is giving out any degree of "free stuff".

"Missions are event only 90% of the time; First Win existed before Missions, so I don't count that. Champion capsules I guess are indeed a discount for anyone who doesn't already own all the champions, but at this point in LoL history, that's less than 50%. Honor Rewards don't give out anything other then champion shards until honor level 5? So, I don't even get your point with this one. The Rune System was a scam in the first place and realistically cost players more money now because they need to get more Rune Pages to actually stay relevant while playing the game. The BE shop gives out chromas for BE? I think there are mystery icons (and maybe (maybe) mystery ward skins) you can get for BE too? Woohoo~

And as for the Hextech Crafting system; honestly, you just don't want to get me started with how terrible of a 'Free Loot System' it is. I'll give you the short version though; it takes 6 Legendary skin shards to upgrade 1, single Legendary skin shard. Yee, real nice. On top of too the expectations for getting an S are silly high considering LoL literally encourages you to keep your champion pool smaller than larger. So you're allowed a whole total of 4 chests, gaining one chest per week after obtaining one, and then have to wait on key shards that have a disgustingly low drop rate. Add in as well, even after cramming on a champion you don't play to finally earn a Hextech Chest, it's not even the Masterwork chest, so chances are you'll end up with a Champion Shard. Wow!

You're literally trying to pull the most literal nonsense out of thin air to argue a multi-million dollar company is losing money by barely giving out free stuff? You're actually in belief that Riot, who has people like the youtuber Trinimmortal who owns literally every single skin in the game (excluding ones like Black Ali or Rusty Blitz), is actually in the possibility (even hypothetically) of going into debit? Riot, who is thriving off of pro play and making tons of money from LC$, needs to worry about giving out slightly more skin shards?

I chose Garen, and while I'll admit it sucks to be losing the event currently, that's not my problem with the VS-esque events so far.

My problem is the fact that other than just banking on pure participation from everyone, there's no actual way to sway a war other than "My side had more and better players". While i can understand that if more people participate in a side's missions and complete them, there is a severe lack of missions designed to help the losing side gain traction or a lead, or even for a side to keep a lead. I don't care if Garen loses this event, but I hope Riot will take it as a chance to try out a better point system for the next war event, where there are more than 10 quests and then a "Oh I guess i finished that useless quest" dailies.

I mean c'mon I finished all of Garens quests in about a day and a half, why can't I do anything more for my side other than wait 24 hours for a single quest that the opposite side will ALSO get?

Hey riot Can you please make URF a gamemode permanent to be honest i find myself being more toxic and leaving games because of ranked really this is the only gamemode i enjoy and hate to be off league till it comes back up i dont get mad in games leave or nothing in this Gamemode so guess what im saying is see you all next urf lol

Well, I chose Garen just because I liked the Eternal Reign icon more, and I wanted someone else to win in this VS. event besides chaos. I think it is kind of dumb that the losing God-King gets his icon scrapped. They could at least give both out to people that actually participated fully in the event. Or, they could at least give the Garen-supporters the Eternal Reign icon and the Darius-supporters the Endless War icon. Guess I will have to next year is different (also, I wish Riot would be bring back the little bar that tells you how far ahead the winning God-King is, like they did with Riven and Yasuo).

Well, Darius won the war? Granted an unskippable mission for an icon of one of my least liked champions? Well see you guys in 11 days, once that mission timer expires. I'm not going to accept an icon I hate, free or not. You couldn't PAY me to accept it.

i wont get enough coins for the icon/border (150 coins) if we only get 5 a day. i hope they give us at least one more bonus mission worth like 15 or something. RITO PLEASE IM BEGGIN YOU. Ok, so I think the event should have revolved around "games won with participating icon equipped" instead of "how many people with 10 smurf accounts have completed all the quests."

The Quests could be the same for both sides (and they essentially were, besides the names), but it would be completely fair to "earn" points for your side by actually winning matchmade PVP games, rather than just by completing quests.

I mean, it would have been easier to just conduct a simple online poll worth 200 event tokens with 1 question: "Darius or Garen?" That would have the same effect, because this event was purely determined by the number of (smurf) accounts that participated, rather than the number of actual games played or games won.

Please Rito, think about your own community before making such events that promote the very practices you work against. . .

I read so many people's comments that they must not understand English. The final mission will let you get the icon but its only of the victor. Meaning if Darius keeps the lead then yes EVERYONE gets DARIUS ICON and the Garen icon is gone forever. The winning side only gets the 1k blue essence. its to remind everyone that garen lost.
