Warrior King Ho2 votesI always want to ask: why buying champions with RP if you can buy them using IP? Why not saving your RP for more beatiful skins?
SciFi Scrivener2 votesImpatience. When I first started earning IP was slow. I wanted to play several different champions so I bought a bunch with RP when they were on sale. Now I earn IP fast enough that I can pick up champions quicker.
Also, I'm sure I'm not alone in this, the base skins look good enough. No hurry to buy a skin when I can get them in hextech cubes. There are some exceptions, like getting a skin for a champ I play more often than others.

Using a simple model of 450 IP/day (3 wins+FWOTD bonus) is about average I would say for playing games for the average player, at best. Taking this into account, it would take someone 14 games, or about 5 days, of playing to unlock a 6300 IP champ. If each game is ~35 minutes, you end up with 490 minutes, or about 8 hours. If you really want to try out a new champ, and you see its on sale, if you value your time as more than even a dollar an hour, buying the champ with RP is worth it.
However, after getting into ranked, I have so much extra IP all the time.
Warrior King Ho1 votesThank you for your comments, I still will use only IP to buy champions, as everytime a bought a champion I try to get familial with him and play at least 10-15 games until I switch to a new one. So basically IP is not a problem for me.
