Get ready to show us your favorite champion’s game face, or their sad face, or their mad face! We’ve got all the info you’ll need to put your best face forward!

THE PROMPT

Your task is to create a portrait of a single champion, from the shoulders up, showing an intense emotion. Whether that’s Garen roaring “Demacia,” or Annie grinning maniacally, eyes blazing, or Braum in the throes of a belly-busting laugh, the choice is yours. And no backgrounds required! For this particular piece you should be focusing on the champ’s face and their emotions, nothing else. Think you’re up to the challenge?

JUDGING

For the first round the community will be the judge, working in Woobox to pick their favorites. Once y’all have voted, Riot Games will comb through your favorites and pick the winners.

IMPORTANT

There are some rules that are unique to this competition, so please read the following carefully along with the general rules below.

Reporting In: You must submit your entry through Woobox
Sign Your Work: All entries MUST include your Summoner Name integrated into the upper right hand corner of your art

NO WATERMARKS

Keep it clean: we all enjoy a dirty joke now and then, but for equal-opportunity fanfare and celebration, these images need to be age-appropriate for the youngest players.
It Takes All Types: Entries can be digital,traditional, or 3D models. Sorry, no cosplay.
Verified Email: Each artist who submits an entry must have have a valid League of Legends Summoner Name and verified email address. Click here to verify your email.
Eyes on the Prize: Potential winners will be contacted via the email associated with the submitter’s League of Legends account, so please make sure its correct before submitting your entry and watch it closely after the contest deadline.

The contest starts 7/9/2018 at 2:00 PM PDT.
The deadline for submission for all entries is 7/23/18 at 2:00 PM PDT.
Winners will be announced and posted on or before 7/27/18.
Artists must work on their own. No team entries will be considered for prizing.
The work submitted to this contest must be originally made for this contest.
Riot Games is the sole judge of the contest. All judgments are final.

Hey heads up! READ THE GRANT OF RIGHTS VERY CAREFULLY AND BE SURE YOU ARE OKAY WITH IT BEFORE ENTERING. Just something that anyone who creates, be it casually or professionally, should do!

(Among other things, if you win, you can't sell or show the work anywhere else without Riot's permission. Even if you don't, they have a non-exclusive right to reproduce the work FOREVER. I'm okay with this because it's a fanart contest, so the ability to submit it or make money off it somewhere else is pretty nonexistent as is. But everyone else should be sure to read it and make sure you understand what it means! Don't go in blind!)

Disclaimer aside, I am SUPER excited! Can't wait to do art for all my favorite champs!

im trying to submit an entry but it keeps saying "you did not choose the correct value for Server" i dont know that that means. i ASSUME it means the server my account is linked with (NA) and i have NA selected from the server list but i keep getting the error

You can submit as many times as you like but it may be more beneficial to spend time on one piece, so you can really push the polish.

So one is good enough, but will it still be accepted if someone does a little package like in the first one? Mayby a little chain of scenes(like in a comic) where they are connected and the expression changes? (but the whole thing only includes the same, one character)

This is important, it will not be accepted if there are multiple faces or it becomes a comic. Focus on one champ, and one expression.

Can we make multiple submissions? So let's say I do one for X champion, but end up making a completely different entry for Y champion (registered as different submissions still). Would that be accepted?

Will all entrants be allowed to post their entries on social media (i.e. Tumblr, DeviantART, Facebook, etc.) after the contest is over? I've read some of the more recent comments, but there's conflicting information on what it means when we're told we can't "distribute." What's the verdict on this issue?

My favorite champion wheres a mask with an eternal smile. Am I allowed to change the expression on the mask, or should I attempt to convey emotion through that crimson orb he calls an eye? Jhin gives the best "you're next" looks tbh.

Champs with masks, or things obscuring their faces, are gonna be tough for this contest. You're more than welcome to give it a shot though! Maybe for Jhin, he's got a The Mask style mask?

Should submissions be painted/rendered or left in a black and white treatment like the example?

And is it okay to include some hands in the portrait as well to contribute to the emotion?

Feel free to include as much color as you'd like! As for hands, try to get the emotion across using just shoulders up. If some hands sneak in that's probably ok, but try working on just selling the facial emotion.

So I submitted an entry, but the preview it gave me saying that the entry was received looked cut off. (Which is strange because it's a perfect square.) Is this normal, or should I resubmit it smaller?
